    That took me back.
I used to have a soul music outlet in Manchester in the UK from '87 to 2000. Used to spend 6 months of the year in the USA just travelling round buying albums in demand on the UK 2-step and rare groove scenes and obscure 60's soul 45s. for the Northern Soul scene. Plus I'd pick up R&B and hip-hop 12"s and breakbeat 45s.
There were tons lying around back then. First place I ever went in was a warehouse in Atlanta and came out with 2000 albums for $1000. Back then depending on rarity in the UK they sold from anything from £5 to say £50.
That Right Track album I had 50 I got from the owners. May have been in Macon but it's all a blur now. It didn't sell well at £5.
Marvin Holmes I've never had but the Ray Alexander I've had a few. Some of the things you showed we actually played in the clubs in mid 70's. "Kill that roach" Miami, "Lets talk" Ray Alexander and Marvin Holmes "You better keep her". All played off 7".
And how dare you dis Mel & Tim. "Backfield in motion" was one of the first soul records I heard at age 16 and bought in 69 as it came out on a UK label. And "Groovy situation" on the album is better than Gene Chandler's original. It's got a bit of a reggae feel about it and of course there are JA versions of the song like Derrick Harriott's.
Great video and a nice change from the usual American collectors showing off their heavy metal etc finds

I got a sealed copy of the Congress Alley someday I will open it and listen to it but for now I listen to it on TH-cam. The Midnite Movers band were the producers and musicians on the 45 record on the song named "Somethings got to change by the singing group Butterscotch, former super jock Frankie Crocker use to play it on WWRL in 1972 on the air waves in NYC.

The Midnite Movers were associated with The Iseley Bros. after The Iseley Bros. moved from Ohio to New Jersey.

Hey my friend Van! What'sup. Nice to see you. Really cool stuff as usual: I do have the Steve Davis,, some nice tracks on this. That Ray alexander Technique is so rare! I would like to find that Ayers lp, never seen it in the wild so far. + I'm on a vinyl challenge I must say (only hitting my local thrift store from time to time, but that's it). Akido is cheap heat I agree. Marvin holmes...wow! I have a midnight movers 45 from that lp. Nico Gomez, pucho etc... Great vibe, as usual . I hope you're well, just wanted to say hello, I'll check out part two for sure. Take care

I remember the first time I bought Paul Jacksons LP I bought it from a record store here in Cleveland, Ohio across the parking lot from where I use to work in 1987. The store owner told me I should buy it bcz it was recorded by laser disc if my memory serves me correct I bought it and I was very satisfied with the sound quality.

I remember Questlove showing that album with his family on a video before. Very cool pull man.

Van good to see you back. I thought you gave the shoutout to the plug on instagram but I could be wrong. Some killer stuff I will have to sample some of these. Allen Toussaint I only have Life Love and Faith but I think thats the one to get. Camille Yarbrough I have wanted forever nice score. I love your rating scale, 12 out of 10. Thanks for the video, Cheers!

Great channel and great finds! All male and all female duo’s might be an interesting topic. Off hand I can think of “The Weather Girls” and “John and Arthur Simms”. There are probably more than you might imagine.

What's up my brother? Man I like the Ortofon Black Needle so much just 3 weeks ago I purchased another one for my 2nd Technics Turntable I just got 1 month ago. I let a friend of mine Record Dealer Maurice Watson hear how the 2M Black Needle sound and he immediately heard the difference in the sound also. I buy alot of rare records but the Maggot Brain is very hard to come by here in Cleveland, Ohio. I see it on Ebay but its never in a mint condition.

And also what I do if I buy a record and the cover is messed up I will buy a reissue copy of the record just to have a clean record cover until I find a decent original copy.
