    Hi. Does the condensate just run onto the roof? Or can it be piped down to low level.
    Can it be fitted in a 400x400mm opening.
    Do the power cable run on the roof or internal. I assume on the roof.
    Are there any 12v AC units that give heating as well.
    Many thanks

    What's the difference in efficiency between the RTX-2000 and 1000? I've read different technical spec articles on this. Early on, one article said hat in Eco-Mode the RTX-1000 draws 12 amps and the 2000 19. Other more recent articles have them both at 19 AH. Why go with the smaller 1000 model if it's drawing down the same power? Can you clarify the power draw in Eco mode for the two models. Thanks

      18A in eco on the RTX 1000. 19A in eco on the RTX 2000

    Great video! Do you have a video of the step by step setup of wiring for the bench testing (hooking up the wiring to the battery)?

    While sleeping, in ECO mode, the fan won't turn off. Should I have a separate thermostat to stop the fan. My bed is fairly high in my van, so having the fan blowing becomes uncomfortable. I can manually turn if off, but then it will not automatically come back on, etc. Plus, I want to be sleeping instead of working the A/C controls...

      Considering the low power draw when in Eco mode, it's unlikely that the unit will begin cycling (turning the compressor off once the set temperature is reached), so the fan will continue to blow. If it does manage to reach the set point, it likely won't cycle off long enough for the fan to stop blowing. In Eco mode it is mainly just keeping up with the cooling needs. You may have better luck selecting the Manual mode and controlling the fan speed to a low level. If you're looking to have the unit cycle, depending on the ambient temperatures and set point for interior temperature, Auto mode may be able to push the unit to cycle where the fan and compressor will turn off once the set point is reached. However, the unit is equipped with a variable speed compressor so it is able to scale to a low speed and low power draw without the need to cycle. It is different from a traditional shore power A/C unit where the compressor is either on or off.

    Can you run this from a ecoflow delta pro?

    • @rackupgo
      @rackupgo  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Delta Pro has a maximum output of 30A or 378W from the Anderson connection. Unfortunately this is not enough power to run the RTX 1000 or the RTX 2000.

    Interested. Could this also be powered via a Generator? AC 120V 2200 running 2500 peak watts. RTX-1000. Thanks.

    • @rackupgo
      @rackupgo  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The RTX is a 12V DC only appliance. If you have a 120VAC to 12V DC converter capable of providing at least 60A, you could use the generator to power the converter and the converter will power the RTX.

    Can the RTX 1000 dometic be installed on the passenger side of the roof (has a slight slope)? And would it also be possible to install perpendicular to the front and back of the van on the passenger side of the roof? Trying to maximize solar roof real estate. Thanks

    • @rackupgo
      @rackupgo  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can install as you wish, just make sure to check the placement guidelines in the Installation & Operating Manual on the product page: rackupgo.com/products/dometic-rtx-1000-air-conditioner-1200w-12v-9600028489
      As far as the slight slope you mentioned, the RTX 1000 allows for an 8° tilt, the RTX 2000 allows for a 20° tilt.

      @@rackupgo , thanks, I saw the slope on the manual, but wasn't sure if someone has attempted a perpendicular off center installation.

    • @rackupgo
      @rackupgo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@functionalvanconversion4284 not that we are directly aware of, but we've seen all kinds of custom installs. The biggest piece is understanding the placement guidelines in the manual, and making sure your install falls within those parameters. As a general rule, we always recommend the RTX 2000 vs the RTX 1000 for any van installation.

    For the RTX1000 what is the max Amp draw the unit has at start up? I thought I found the specs on this unit on the internet but maybe I am just overlooking as I can seem to find it anymore. I want to install this unit on the roof of my Polaris general XP1000 and I need to get the table on the Amp draws for different run fan speed cycles to see what requirements I need to do with my electrical system. The unit will be running while the machine is operating and not from a battery bank. Thank you

      Draw is between 19-58 amps

      @@rackupgo thank you for the speedy reply.
      However I have a question. I did go back to the manual as I overlooked it when I asked the question previously. The manual states on page 22 for the rtx1000 it is 10-50amps, and the rtx2000 is 10-58amps.
      Is the manual incorrect stating 50amps?
      Thank you

      @@nwags357 sorry, no you are correct. Looks like we pulled the data from the RTX 2000, but see now that you had requested for the RTX 1000. Draw on the RTX 1000 is 10-50 amps.

    Can the RTX2000 24V operated with 12V?

      The 24V version of this product is not currently available in the United States. If you are running a 12V system, you can purchase the 12V RTX 2000 here: rackupgo.com/products/dometic-rtx-2000-air-conditioner-2000w-12v-9600028490

    Does this have a fan only function without using the AC?

    • @rackupgo
      @rackupgo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It does not have a designated “fan only” mode. You can increase the temperature setting on the unit however, and as long as the temp in the vehicle is lower than the setting you’ve selected, it will run the fan only.

      @@rackupgo I see! Thank you, and I have a very small van, like 5.3M long, is the RTX 2000 or 1000 recommend?

    • @rackupgo
      @rackupgo  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HK.Builds you may be able to get by with the RTX 1000, but for any van installation, we typically recommend upgrading to the RTX 2000. You get a lot more performance from the 2000 with very similar power draw, and the price difference is pretty minimal as well. We usually only recommend the RTX 1000 for super small spaces like teardrop trailers.
