    Hi, in this video, I am reviewing this heavy-duty paper cutter. This heavy-duty cutter is what I used to help cut most of our homeschool books when needed.
    I use mine, especially at the beginning of a new homeschool year.
    However, the convenience and capability of this machine are worth it to me. Also, this machine compliments my binding machine. My Binding machine (affiliate link) amzn.to/3tiOYd4
    Neither is necessary; however, based on how I do things in our homeschool, they offer the flexibility and convenience I am looking to have.
    Before considering this or any guillotine cutter similar to this, there are some significant factors to consider.
    Hopefully, the video answers most, if not all, of your concerns. I tried to be as detailed as possible.
    Thanks for watching, and God bless.

    Hi, thank you for watching. 💙
    I am adding this playlist here. If you have issues like realignment or incomplete cuts, I have made a couple videos solving some of those issues.
    If you have any questions about the cutter, ask, and I will assist if I can. I am not affiliated with the company. :)
    Hope it helps.

    Thanks for your review. I have a little problem with the mine, when I begin to cut, the blade pushes the paper forward and that makes it not aligned. I guess the holder isn't working well. What should I do? Thanks

    • @MommyShareSpace
      @MommyShareSpace  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Christian Akwesi Amoafo Ministries.
      Sorry to hear you're having issues with your machine. I agree with you that the plastic holder could be better. You have to tighten the holder and ensure your fence is securing your project well to increase the chance of accurate cuts.
      In looking at mine and determining what might cause the problem you are experiencing, I can only assume two things other than clamping the project tighter.
      -The blade may need sharpening or replacing. The downward pressure at the top end of the blade may not be slicing through the top portion of your papers quickly enough and is doing some pulling before it cuts. Or
      -The top end of the blade is not cutting into the paper first, then slicing through the rest. In other words, the blade is aligned straighter and may not have a small 1-2 mm spacing near the bottom end of the machine.
      I cannot be sure, but that is what I can assume, looking at mine.
      If that does not help, I made about three videos on my channel showing how I fixed the issues I was having with my machine.
      In this particular video: th-cam.com/video/3GuFbWj23MY/w-d-xo.html, at the 10:43 time stamp, I showed how to adjust for the spacing. Earlier in that video, I showed how to work with the vertical bolt and screws and how to use leverage at the pivot point to get your blade angled properly at the top end of the blade.
      You can check out the playlist if it helps. I have it pinned as a comment under this video.
      I hope you can get your machine aligned soon. Thanks for watching!

    I bought it on Amazon, I face a lot of accuracy issues and struggle hard to make an accurate cut. The main issue is that, even after arranging everything neatly it somehow messes up the cut, the bottom paper slant outwards and about 1cm of the bottom stack is gone. Currently I am using rubber band to keep it in place and a cardboard on the bottom for a clean cut. My machine is made in China so it will not compare to a machine made in USA or Germany, (they make everything hurriedly disregarding the quality) . Another problem is that my machine is black in colour so at times it's hard to see the ruler marking specially where the slider is stationed. Somehow I am making it work. Your video is helpful.

    • @MommyShareSpace
      @MommyShareSpace  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, The Inquisitive mind,
      Sorry you have to do all that to get your machine to cut accurately!
      Based on what you said and looking at a heavy-duty black machine similar to mine on Amazon (it seems like the same machine, just a different company name with a different color), it sounds like you're not getting a 90-degree cut. I have found it to be almost impossible!
      However, I have found that the smaller the project, the easier it is to get a straight cut than when cutting a larger book. I also help counter this problem by pushing the bottom stack of my book up against the plastic holder since larger books seem not to jam up to it properly when placed initially. Then I tightened the plastic fence and the metal fence as tight as possible.
      In this video, th-cam.com/video/qCsjkM9PUII/w-d-xo.html, I show how I try to get straighter cuts if you're interested. I also have a playlist of other things I had to adjust to align my machine. The playlist is pinned in the comments.
      I agree with you on the quality, though. However, it is OK for what it does until you have issues. And if you're willing to fix or adjust the machine.
      Not convenient, for sure.
      This was a good option for me, the time and money I spent every time I wanted to take a book apart.
      I liked the black version too, but the contrast with the little white lines on black, I figured, would be difficult as I'm getting older.
      I am glad the video was helpful, and thank you for watching!

    Can it cut heavy weight gloss coated paper neatly?

    • @MommyShareSpace
      @MommyShareSpace  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Aishwarya.
      Yes, it does, once the blade is sharp.
      I just wanted to point out, though, that coated paper will dull the blade a bit faster if used for this type of paper regularly, as there is a small adhesive layer between the paper and the gloss.
      But now and then, it should be ok. I cut photo paper with mine sometimes. Thanks for watching.

      @MommyShareSpace  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. Not all. A lot of my kid's textbooks are large. It makes it easier to lie flat when getting their work done or when I'm correcting.
      It is not the biggest problem in the world. But since I own the machine, anything to help make our homeschool days less stressful is worth it to me:)

    • @MommyShareSpace
      @MommyShareSpace  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Terry.
      Yes, it can. It cuts excellent for single card stock paper, though this machine might be a lot for only single sheets.
      If cutting in bulk, stacks about half an inch or lower from the base give a pretty straight 90-degree cut.
      In my last cutter video, I tried to address issues of larger not being straight and suggestions.
      Under that video, I also got a great suggestion I am yet to try, plus another commenter left a great tip she learned while watching another channel. If it pertains to you, you can check it out here ---> th-cam.com/video/ucS7fAx-Zls/w-d-xo.html

    • @MommyShareSpace
      @MommyShareSpace  ปีที่แล้ว

      I now finished using my old Swingline 12" paper cutter Model #9312 and thought of your question again.
      Not sure what quantities you work with. However, I have owned this now $35 cutter for well over six years, and it still works great! Advertised, it can only cut ten sheets at once but cuts clean if working with two or three sheets. It is super sharp (I cut myself with it once) and much cheaper. You can find it at Walmart or Amazon. This is it on Amazon ---> amzn.to/46MB9qf .
      I added the above heavy-duty cutter for cutting books.

      @MommyShareSpace thanks I actually ordered the one you have I think im gonna return it. So I will be doing 4x6 flyers so I will use the link you sent and use this to cut the flyers. Thanks
