Although I'm genuinely awestruck by this guy's range, I would say the only actor that really struggled with their specific part in some places was the actor who played Raoul. I personally didn't like the acting for Raoul in the 2004 at all, he made the character out to be very shallow and it didn't feel like he really cared for her at all. But I think he occasionally struggled with some of his notes as well. That being said, Emmy Rossum did the most fantastic job possible as Christine. She was 16 years old at the time and still nailed every single note. And the actor for Phantom did an incredible job as well, although it's possible that some of his higher notes he might've struggled on, but he plays an excellent higher bass range and his acting is absolutely stunning.
@@croissant1949 Yes, she most definitely was. She was 16 when she was cast, and probably between 16-17 while filming, and she was 18 when it was released. I covered the screen, and had my mom listen to this. (She LOVES phantom. She's seen it on Broadway and recordings of the original. She has all the songs on CDs too.) I asked her who she though was singing. After a few minutes of her singing and smiling along, she proudly answered, "well this is the original cast of course! It's perfect and sounds just like them!" Then I turned he screen during point of no return reprise.. Her face... She was speechless. I've never seen anything make her so confused and happy. Thank you so much for making my mom and my day! You are truly amazing!
I love not only the singing, but the acting put into each role you sing. Raoul looks kind, yet at times cautious, Christine looks sweet, yet also bewildered, and the phantom just held a constant state of mystery and sensitivity.
Nick, I have to personally thank you. This video in particular got me to practice singing, and my voice has improved SO MUCH. I would sing along to all of your videos in the pitches you do, and over time, I was able to hit all of the notes in Music of the Night! I finally felt I was practiced enough to audition for singing parts, and I managed to sing in front of my whole school! Now, with my latest audition, I get to sing the National Anthem at my high school's graduation! If it hadn't been for you, I wouldn't have gotten to where I am! Thank you so much! 2021 Update: This original post is from 5 years ago… it’s weird to read something I wrote in high school. I still have to thank you, though-that much hasn’t changed since then! I used to listen to this on repeat just to learn how you sung every part, and would practice in the shower just to sound as good as you did. The household I lived in prohibited me singing in the house, so I found refuge in singing to this cover when no one was home. I still sing phantom of the opera, and even now I find influences from your style in the way I sing it. I’m now getting gigs as an opera singer, and I perform for people every week at karaoke! I’m not afraid to sing anymore, and it’s taken me years to finally say that. I also couldn’t hit the high note in Phantom of the Opera when I first listened to this, but as of yesterday, I finally hit the note, and impressed a crowd doing it! If I hadn’t found your channel, this video, this cover… I wouldn’t have become the singer I am today. Thank you. Genuinely.
same for me i mean the the national anthem thinng but but everything else is exactly what you said nick should do acoulpe of videos of like teaching people how to sing like that and sterff

I'm getting to see this show ON BROADWAY with my drama class this spring! I love this show and long to play Christine! I don't think I have the range for it, though...
Ok as a professional singer and a tenor I have to say this guy is BLOODY FANTASTIC!!! Christ his harmonies are great, his Christine is phenomenal and the whole highlights of the show is so brilliantly done. Rare talent here folks and I never say things like that lightly. I'm hard to please. Brilliant Nick. Totally a fan after hearing this.
The climax of the 3 voices at the end , does something to my brain, the original film and Broadway always get me on this scene but something about the 3 voices coming from the same person just makes it incredible Nick Pitera, if you ever read this, you're exquisite
UN-BE-LIEVABLE !!! - As longtime Phantom lovers, my wife and I were truly moved by this performance. Your portrayal of the Phantom is better than many we've seen on stage. All three parts were spot on and a masterpiece in video presentation. Thank you for sharing, we are permanent fans !
I wouldn't have guessed that a man could sing Christine's songs so well - impressing! I really loved the parts when you sang Raoul or the Phantom. Your voice is very beautiful! ❤
He is only doing a female alto, its not really that high at all. But it is quite impressive for a masculine range. You might have been placed improperly if you are in chorus, I was when I was in it. If the teacher barely grasps their job and places you in the wrong place you might not even realize it unless you take something like AP Music Theory, or just take some time to study music in general. It's worth it in the long run if you study some, if you are really interested you should study it. I had lots of fun. :)
+Alice Faircloth I'm thinking of getting vocal lessons so I can strengthen my voice and be able to talk like a real commanding woman instead of a timid child. I also wanna be able to sing a tune on key and in range
+Alice Faircloth I actually took music theory once, and I agree it was great! I've been immersed in music since I was six and I picked up the violin. My chorus directly majored in choral studies and directing, so hopefully he didn't place me wrong, but it might have happened since he did it maybe two years ago. I just meant that Christine part. Like, wow. I wish I had that control. I might be able to hit that, but at a major volume and after a whole lot of trying.

I asked her who she though was singing.
I did he same with my nan
I'm obsessed about phantom and only Erics part isn't like it shoul be. Any way I think Christine is better than in orginal
R/thathappened
🤣
Director: So what part are you auditioning for?
Him: Yes.
You’ll be understudy for the cast
😂😂😂😂😂. Couldn’t have worded it better!
DAMN THT PHANTOM LAUGH
Music of the night gives me chills every time I hear it
04:11 is giving me goosebumps
*eargasms*
😂😂😂 eargasms
0:00-9:02 gave me goosebumps
there are times when I re-listen to his songs without looking at the video, I almost forget that it was also him singing the female parts. xD
Nick’s voice is stunning but the acting really puts it a cut above. I love that each different character is in character the whole time
Okay but like please do something from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Please. I need it
Zero Gray hell fire
Zero Gray YES PLEASEEEE!!!!!
I need to see phantom of the opera live... AND HOT DANG THAT VOICE
Allison B. I've seen it. it's soooo good
Allison B. it's amazing live. Especially if it's always the same level as the 2011 Royal Albert Hall performance.
You NEED TO SEE IT!! IT'S AMAZING!!!
It's fantastic if you have a chance!
Wow! The last segment: Past the Point of No Return ... blew me away!! What an incredible presentation. BRAVO!
I love not only the singing, but the acting put into each role you sing. Raoul looks kind, yet at times cautious, Christine looks sweet, yet also bewildered, and the phantom just held a constant state of mystery and sensitivity.
I love how at 4:12, one nick looks scared, one nick is like 'what is going on' and the other nick is like 'yas'
i cant believe he did christine's part! absolutely amazing!!
When Nick sang in falsetto, I was just amazed.
When he started it took me a while to realize what was actually going on.
HOLY GOSH THIS GUY CAN SING!!!!!
ROUND OF APPLAUSE EVERYONE COME ON COME ON!!!!!
Nick, can you please do a one man medley of Sweeney Todd
That would be amazing!!
Yes yes yes yes yes
Skye Perez yes yes yesyes yesyesyesyesy. preferably with My friends in it!!!!
Nick ;-; sensei ... Please c:
OMG THIS WOULD MAKE MY LIFE!
I don't normally write in caps lock BUT THIS IS BEAUTIFUL. I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE PHANTOM ALL OVER AGAIN. Thank you very much for sharing this gift of yours to us all and doing an amazing job!
Nick, I beg you, do a full cover of Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again!
Oh, that nick
YESSS
Don't forget Music of the Night because I am CERTAIN Nick could make it sound better! I love how he sings the snippet of it
japaneseokamiadmirer yah
He should have done 'angel of music'
I'm getting to see this show ON BROADWAY with my drama class this spring! I love this show and long to play Christine! I don't think I have the range for it, though...
+Elizabeth Loves Giraffes It is so amazing! I love the phantom of the opera theme song. Gives me goosebumps...
@Little Body Big Heart
I hate you all! Just kidding but I am seriously jealous
You can do anything if you put your mind to it! Go kick some butt as the coolest Christine since Emmy Rossum!!

You deserve a personal broadway show for it
Edward Tang I agree
Nick Pitera- Phantom
Peter Hollens- Raoul
Sierra Boggess- Christine
Dream cast. Oml.
This 😍
Haha
I'd pay to see
Yes omg that would be perfect
😄😃
OMG I CANT
THE VOICE
THE LAUGH
THE EXPRESSION OF EMOTION
AAAAAAAAAAAA!!! 😍😱🙌🏻
The climax of the 3 voices at the end , does something to my brain, the original film and Broadway always get me on this scene but something about the 3 voices coming from the same person just makes it incredible
Nick Pitera, if you ever read this, you're exquisite
UN-BE-LIEVABLE !!! - As longtime Phantom lovers, my wife and I were truly moved by this performance. Your portrayal of the Phantom is better than many we've seen on stage. All three parts were spot on and a masterpiece in video presentation. Thank you for sharing, we are permanent fans !
let us all be thankful that we all live at the same time as this talented creature of the gods
the evil laugh tho...😍😍😍😍😍
mind-blowing
+Kimberly Siguenza ikr
Chills...
When? ;) *EDIT:* I found it and get major chills listening to it. ;)
Your Christine is very cute!!
歌ってない、画面が暗い時もちゃんと入り込んでいるの凄いですね。
色んなところを見る為に、何回も再生してしまいます。
I love his voice as the Phantom.
+Lauren Slack yes if they ever make a remake of this movie I want him as the phantom
but he doesn't sound like phantom exactly. there was no evil laugh. he has to FEEL it!
I wouldn't have guessed that a man could sing Christine's songs so well - impressing! I really loved the parts when you sang Raoul or the Phantom. Your voice is very beautiful! ❤
I'm a girl and I can't even sing her parts, if a guy can do it, it's impressive asf
riiiiggghht in the child hood bro XD you sound just like them man i have to watch the phantom of the opora right now lol
"Opera" How do you screw up with a spell check? It takes a special type of person. Lol
lol well the spell chack thinks im typing outher things :o and im just like no stop that and outher times i just get lazy and let it do what i wants
8:33 I’m shaking. The way the three voices overlap is completely perfect. Well done, sir, you are a musical genius.
I clicked on this video like oh he won't be able to do Christine but DAMN DANIEL
This is beautiful wow
Just like your profile picture. xD
Michelle.. Yes I agree Josh Franceschi is beautiful
Lol
Can he please record him doing all of Music of the night? I would listen to that constantly.
Also, he sounds so much like Raoul from the '04 version its uncanny
I remember when this first came out and 9 years later....it's just as beautiful as before ....truly an amazing singer ❤
I'm a soprano 1 and Nick has a higher range than I will ever dream of having.
SAME!
if only I had a voice as beautiful and high as his
He is only doing a female alto, its not really that high at all.
I might be able to hit that, but at a major volume and after a whole lot of trying.
am i the only one who really wanted to see Nick in a phantom mask
he Would look so silly 😋😋
It'd be so hot though xD
+Brittney Rodgers so true
+Brittney Rodgers oh lord he would
Nope, hehe, my name's Allison too, Nice to meet you. XD
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
NICK YOU ARE OFFICIALLY MY LIFE!!!!!
Hanna Potter PHANDOM
this guy is insanely talented. that range and vocal control is wicked
