I was talking with Josh after their show in Vegas last weekend and he told me Jim used a Fractal (so I'm assuming Josh doesn't). Jim said he used Fractal on their S American tour because it was too expensive to ship all their gear. They ran that straight in because dialing in the fractal with the varying bass frequencies with each venue is a pain in the ass running the FX II through cabs. He still uses the Orange Rockerverbs live stateside. Jim's also using new prototype Jazzmasters.
their rigs actually aren't that complicated. just some fractals. Corey is a HUGE fan of them, though I witnessed his rig go down on stage because is fractal crapped out, lol
@TheCollisionofworlds If your a real stone sour fan you would know that this person in the backround is JIM ROOT talking with his guitar tech MARTIN, he had an interview to with allaxess so stop talking crap!!
each guitar has different pickups each pickups have different windings of screws bolts and springs and that is were your tone difference not wood wood makes no difference
Dude... The wood used for the body, neck, fretboard and even a little strip of special wood inside the back of the neck give a guitar different sound. Its common sense that every wood has different density thus giving them unique resonant qualities... I really hope you don't play guitar...
