Děkujeme za tato opravdu užitečná videa.. Je možné přidat videa, která obsahují užitečné rozhovory pro nás u lékaře.. v bance.. v hotelu.. na vládních místech? Děkuji mnohokrát.
You mention that when counting, "dva" is normally used. In other situations where the number two is used on its own without a noun -- for example in phrases like "level A2" or "table for two" or "number two" -- is "dva" preferred? And is arithmetic an exception? I've seen "Dvě a dvě jsou čtyři". Thank you!
Yes, for A2 we would prefer to say 'A dva' although I can imagine some people could say 'A dvě'. Table for two is indeed "stůl pro dva". In math, we also prefer the masculine form: 2 x 2 = dva krát dva, 22 - 2 = dvacet dva minus dva. It is interesting that in the saying 'dvě a dvě jsou čtyři', the feminine form is more common, I am not sure why. It is not wrong to say 'dva a dva jsou čtyři', though.
Hi, I have a question about counting time (in seconds)... I teach gymnastics and have many foreign children in my classes -- lots of Czech children. I have been trying to learn how to count in Czech (so we can count while we are doing our stretches), but I still haven't figured out which "one" and "two" to use while counting how long we hold the stretches. So, would it be: - jeden, dva, tri... - jedna, dve, tri... - jedno, dve, tri... ? Thank you in advance to anyone willing to answer! :)
Hi! Thanks for the great question. When counting, we would usually say: jedna, dva, tři (the first two numbers ending in -a, makes it easier). But in sport or dance when you need to be quick, we say: *RAZ, dva, tři...*

Thank you! I'm glad you are enjoying learning Czech. There are many options for BA or MA programs, you can search for different study programs with Czech universities. The most well-known is the Charles University or the Czech technical university in Prague (ČVUT). Look at this website which gives you a good overview: studyinprague.cz/

Truly honored to be part of the last dialogue, thank you so much for including me!
It was my pleasure! The Czech language learners need to have a role model! ;-)
