Editor must’ve had a blast trying to find any “highlights” in this one. It was such a brutal, gruesome game to watch as a supporter of either side. This match made me realize why I always see comments like “MLS has poor officiating.” Truly one of the lowest quality displays of football I’ve seen in a long time, I say this as a Union fan too
The refs have been absolutely terrible all year especially last night in the Seattle game this game and the cincy game

Apparently everyone in Orlando was at the Arsenal v. Chelsea game... one of the worst turnouts for an Orlando City game I've seen in a long time, especially given that it was against the first place team in the Eastern Conference.
For those that couldn't figure out why it wasn't a PK for Orlando (best guess); After the review, VAR and the Ref ruled that, even though the Orlando Player's Jersey was pulled, he pulled the Union Player's Jersey first.
Yup. Replay shows 25 grabs Union player's shirt with his left hand, near the defender's right shoulder. Good no call.
The only reason Antonio Carlos #25 grabbed his shirt was to stay on his feet cause the other player was pulling him down

@@Elwer2009 usually don't, no difference in fans who attend. Im there every home game, appox 15kish-18k+ most games. Supporters section isnt sold out when 20k+ are there genius. Standing for 2hrs+ aint for most.

Another win for the Union I wish we could of kept a 2 goal per game strike going but we kept are winning strike going so thats all that really matters. Rough calls in this one I most say I know Orlando fans are hurting right now. You come to are house next meeting Sep. 10th see you then. I hope burk #19 is OK he didn't look great getting back up of the pitch at all. Next game Houston at home should be a good one would like see use get back to are 2 goals per game form. It doesn't matter who fouls worse, it matters who fouls first.
Orlando City's player fouled first, hence the correct call was made.

But what are Orlando fans complaining about? 2 shots on goal against PHI and 2 corners in 90 minutes / 2 shots on goal against ATL and 2 corners in 90 minutes / 4 shots on goal against Colorado and 4 corners / 2 shots on goal against MIA and 2 Corners ... Should I Continue? This team may not have understood, if it wants to win it has to score goals and above all it has to play much more offensively. But as it seems, not everyone understands it ....

I was at the match. Horrible. Union was the superior team, but the ref was horrible (pretty normal for MLS). Missed fouls for both sides, let the match run ragged. Then, the Union became the worst example of teams falling down and laying on the pitch. I thought that was the most sad because, again, they were the superior team and should have actually tried to score again, but instead spent the last 30 minutes on the pitch. The 9 at the end needed to be about 15 minutes to make up for how often Philly laid down. The failure of VAR, especially that they league continues to let the Ref on the pitch make the final decision (unlike how NFL and MLB correctly do it), showed up again. Orlando certainly deserved the penalty, and any Union fan who reversed the experience (Orlando grabbed their guy) would also demand the pk. Orlando looked pitiful and didn’t deserve the win or the draw, but a foul is a foul. Fairly normal pitiful experience for an MLS match.
I thought it was a pen but the Orlando guy also grabbed his shirt so, no it shouldn’t. Also the Union player had a head injury and may be out for months with a concussion
I agree with some of what you said, but our number 9 Burke was legit injured. Head injuries can sometimes be like that.

@@mikebevacqua1517 I agree, a guy with a head injury should go down, as did the Orlando player when it happened. But if you watched, you know the Union players went down several more times in a row from about the 60 minute mark. Look, Orlando does the same thing, and I hate that too. Last night was more annoying because clearly Union was the better team, and had they just exerted themselves a bit more in the early part of the second half, they should have been up 2 or 3, and not needing to really time waste. It’s one of the things about soccer that I really detest.
How TF did Tesco miss that header? I mean come on.. As a tall striker coming in as a sub that is literally your entire job.. To place your chances on target ESPECIALLY headers crossed straight to you.

I've seen bad calls in the past. But this is just ridiculous. I've seen this plenty of times with Orlando and I can't make sense of some of these calls. The only time I've ever seen a referee ever seem to be favoring Orlando was in the Open Cup. The rest are neutral or biased against City. I'm pretty sure MLS has something against Orlando City, and I'm not sure why

Depending on the scenario it can be considered reckless which in term means yellow card. But in the case your talking about he stopped a promising attack by doing it which means he is given a yellow for stopping a promising attack

The incredibly poor officiating and the blatant playing for time by rolling around on the ground and refusing to let the game continue MUST get cleaned up in MLS. It's a fun league to watch unless these two factors intervene.
