That is my opinion. Everyone is addressing the wires. Which I did because it doesn't hurt or take much time to do so. I did wait until I had a secondary reason to open it. I guess one could put a bit of a shield around the GPS on some of the sides. I have not seen that addressed. I just think it is located in the wrong place on these quads. Love to find a better mount/mounting location. Won't be a BIG problem on the 7-inch because I just plan on using it for LR flights. It should never be upside down for any reason. However, I really would love to freestyle the 5-inch. It will work perfectly for that. But I also want to fly it for autonomous flight beyond simple RTL. And I sure do want RTL to work 100%. That seems to be a hard task on these small frames without a mast. I do think I have the 7-inch fixed well enough. Testing and flights will tell. But the 5-inch really has me worried for anything except a Betaflight freestyle drone without a GPS. I also think the quality of the GPS module has a lot to do with all of this. Filtering circuits and such. I have been trying to buy a decent GPS module because I can't change them much. IMHO because Betaflight has just gotten their rescue mode working, more and more of the smaller frames will be trying to use a GPS and hopefully some new tech will come from that. I as I stated in my video and as you stated, I think the majority of the problem is in the module, not the wires. Because everything is so mashed together on these, I think induced noise into the wires is a problem. It may be a 10th of the problem that the module itself is, but I can address it fairly easily. And it gives me something to do with my time. 😊
@@nighthawkvs Its not the antenna that has to be shielded, the things that need to be shielded are sources of noise. Power wires, Gopro or action cameras, fpv cameras, esc.
vern youre even better at making up new handles for me than I am ;-) fyi I got the copper shielded wire and its really just too much to fit into the small channel I am using.. may go with tape...
I am so sorry about that. Very embarrassed by that mistake. It was pretty easy to apply the tape. Not sure it will do much, but I feel one must try. Hopefully several small fixes will make a bigger overall difference.
@@nighthawkvs No worries about the handle it just makes me chuckle...In all candor my handle of choice is A-Bit. As in "a single bit of data" That was not allowed by googles algorithm so this is what I came up with... If I remember from my machine coding days a byte of bits could be upto 40 characters.... which leaves me with the question... Does this handle make me look fat? ;-) It would be interesting to apply an O'scope to the rx and tx lines ... now that I think about it a ferrite core might do the job nicely... I will continue to look into this.
Noise is being picked up at the ceramic antenna, not the wires.

@@cdog3257 Those two battery wires running through that area is also a thing I hated during the build. Was thinking of doing the 5-inch differently.
