Daniel described his life like a roller coaster, but it also was like a roller coaster to watch it and experience the ups and downs of his life from his point of view. I heard a little bit of the story of Daniel's adoptions before in various videos, but never what it was like from Daniel's point of view. I loved the flashes of humor, like "having a sister I love but who annoys me to no end," and "this last year they stuffed us in the car and said we were going to go around the USA." This story of how someone who has faced enormous difficulties in life has gone on to overcome them and to have a positive outlook on life is an inspiration.
Wow!!! So PROUD of our Daniel. This made me tear up too. I never heard the story about the second foster home. That woman should be reported and forbidden to have any foster children in her home.... Dan-it was so fun to have you guys visit this summer. Thank you for doing your videos.. You are helping so many other people. Big hugs from Jim and Dave in Ohio!! :)
It breaks my heart to know that Daniel, being such a young lad, had to go trough all this horrible thing at such a young age. He is a strong boy and will grow up to be a much stronger man with a heart of gold. Your family is beautiful to the point it brings me to tears, pointing out that it's happy tears. Bryan and Jay, god bless you! Well done, Daniel! Wish you all the happiness :)
Daniel. I am so very proud of you. I am proud to know of you, to know Jay & Bryan love you and Selena so much. I have followed you for a long time now, and I admire you very much; your courage, your dedication and your incredible strength as you move toward becoming an incredible young man. This video really moved me, thank you for sharing your story with us. I look forward to continuing to watch you grow and make your way into this world...I KNOW you will make great contributions to making this world a better place for everyone - because you already HAVE accomplished so much! much love!!! ~Angie
Such a young person with so much to tell about life. It broke my heart when he crossed Emilio at the beginning of the video. You saved your son´s life, not everyone has such a privilege!
The tears in my eyes won't stop! This video is so deeply powerful and beautiful. Daniel, you're amazing and an inspiration. You're going to do great things in your life and many good things will come to you. This video shows perfectly that our families are the same as straight families. I need a "love forever" button cuz "like" doesn't do it justice!
Didn't take you to Disney World... Excuse me while I go teach that family a lesson. That was one big thing I always wanted growing up with my horrid parents. A trip to Disney World. For *years* I only asked for that one thing. Every Christmas, every summer, every birthday. My brother and both of my sisters went a year before I was born, and the stories they would tell me about it just enraptured my child heart. But my parents would always say no. Never a reason, just no. I eventually gave up at around thirteen years-old. So I made a vow that when I have a kid, we (no matter what my spouse says) are going to Disney World with that child. And that foster family can go to Hell. Pisses me off hearing that. Fucking God bless you and Bryan for being such incredible parents, and bless Daniel for being such an incredible man. I'm gonna go punch a wall. -Jay
omg the tears are still rolling down my face great job Daniel you are an amazing young man and you deserve everything you have gotten and will give to yourself later in life take care and always be as you are now
This was so touching. I would feel a tear coming on then you would make me laugh. You are a good story teller, Daniel, and I have no doubts that you will have lots of incredible stories to tell as you continue your life's journey.
You'd be a really great brother to have, Daniel. A lot of people go through hard times, but not everyone comes out of it with such a nice personality. You have a really good attitude on life. Keep that up in everything that you do and there is no limit to where it can take you.
Daniel is a strong kid...his thoughts and views are so mature, responsible and genuine and he is a confident boy...all credit goes to Daddy Jay and Daddy Bryan...I am sure Daniel turns out to be a good person like both daddies...Hugs!
Dan, you are and amazing kid. I had the privilege to meet you in person and you are as awesome as you sound in this video. What a blessing is to have you among us! Much love and happy thanksgivings
I just love you Daniel. You have blossomed into a very wonderful and profound young man. You always make me feel better about life in general. It is love that makes a life.
Daniel your story inspires me...you are such a special person and you deserve to have a wonderful family with your sister and your both amazing dads!!! Keep shining like a star...and blessings to your whole family. xoxo
Amazing story, really makes me think about my own life and how lucky I am. Unfortunately, sad to say not everyone is such. I don't think I will ever have to power to complain about the things I don't have; which are pointless, little and petty, after watching this touching video.
Great video, My bf had a stroke at birth and had to have surgery throught his childhood so I know somewhat what you are talking about, but it has made him who he is today, he is still paralyzed somewhat on his left side but it doesnt slow him down and I love him very much, he is 37 now, Daniel seems like a great kid and I hope the best for all of you in the future, take care.
This is so concise and shows what a positive and inventive young man Daniel is becoming! Go for all the life you can stuff in it, Daniel! Your sister and your dads will be applauding you all the way!
Daniel, that was wonderful! You did an excellent job! I have literally watched you grow up in these videos, and I couldn't be more proud of you,if you were my own son!You have grown into such a wonderful young man! : )
Danielle I want to say thank you so much for sharing your story! It touched me so much, I can't get over how old you are now! I remember when I first met you and you were just a little guy when I started fowling your families TH-cam videos there. Well you said you're 13 now? That's hard to believe but anyways keep smiling and you're in The best place and you're in one of the amazingness families I have ever met. I love you all so much :) xxxx
loved this video, well done Daniel. So glad that school is better now, there's nothing worse than being made to feel like you don't fit in - especially when you're as awesome as you are! You're all so lucky to have each other, I got married to my partner 2 weeks ago so just letting the dust settle before we start looking at adoption. All of your stories are so inspiring and you are all meant to be together! x
***** Eek! We've added a few pics that people took on the wedding day if you fancied a look on my Facebook. They're not the best pics but I was getting wedding withdrawl so got my friends to send a few to me while we were on honeymoon. We wont get the proper ones for a while! x
You have such an amazing life Daniel! So many struggles, but you still push through and now you're living an amazing life! I'm so glad I was able to hear your story.
You draw better than I do Daniel. :) I am sorry to hear you went through such a tough time. I did when I was younger/your age also but in different ways. I am a much stronger, more compassionate, and, as strange as it may sound, happier person for all I survived. You survived too and I do wish the same for you. :) It seems you are well on your way. Also was cool to find out you were born the same year as my son. :) - Heidi
half way through the video, I was thinking "finally, daddy Bryan and daddy Jay came to the rescue" :). One thing that cracks me up was when Daniel was describing "every year they take us on this big..... they always take us on a vacation" MEGA lol. Daniel felt like he had almost grown up.
I am so glad you are safe and happy now. We take on all sorts of challenges to learn form on this earth. I can think or no better guides to help you with your struggles then Jay an Bryan. God bless you and help protect you JC
Hi Daniel, You are one really cool guy. I'm sorry your life got off to a crappy start, but it looks like you are now one the road to one awesome life. I also saw your family's Road Trip Wrap Up. I'm glad you had a great trip. Hug your Dads for me; they deserve it. P.S. You should see me draw the state I was born in - West Virginia☺ Makes your California look like a masterpiece.

I know how that feels....I have a bad past too....I was also an outcast.I have hornmonal issues which causes me to grow hair and have a deeper voice than other girls.I have a beard and what not and i look like a boy which im not.I am a lesbian so i started to not care after a while.Your family sounds cool,i hope u all live happily ever after * hugs *
How the hell can it happen that a child is sent to foster care in a family where he is called "ugly"..? Anyway so good to see that you are well now.. You have very cool interests, LOVE!
I thought it used to be back when I was 12-13 years old and I was best friends with a foster kid down the road. He was horribly mistreated while he was there and he was different also. He had these white/pink large patches of skin. I forget what he told me it was called - it was so long ago - but I never forgot the stories he told me of how badly he was treated there not only by his foster brothers but also his foster father. There was no woman in the picture. The foster father was a minister and there was something about him that had nothing to do with him being a minister - it was more a gut instinct - that I really didn't like. I am sad to hear that some foster homes are still not good places for kids to be. - Heidi
Sadly, some people only do foster care for the money. The child has no say,or no choice. When I was growing up,there was a foster child up the street from me.He was mentally handicapped, most of the time he was left to his own devices. He would wonder around the neighborhood wearing the same filthy clothes for weeks at a time.I have no idea what ever became of him.:( I heard of another case, where as soon as this foster child aged out of the system, her foster "father" kicked her out.She had no where to go.:( To me,putting children in a bad foster "family" is like throwing them from the frying pan into the fire.
What happened to Daniel's second foster parents? Are they still fostering and abusing children? I hope you took care of them so they could not just foster for money and abuse kids like Daniel.
Come on, boy!!!! Stop thinking about if somebody will hate you because of your drawings. Mine are worse than yours and they don't hate me because of that. I'm not here to criticize your drawings, but to hear your story, and if I was your father, I'd be proud of you.
I hope Daniel told the social worker / judge about the people in his second foster home... those people should not be in the program... they are doing it for the money the state pays them I would bet...someone should have filed charges against them
