From my view point the 90's died in 2002 after that the 00's decade came into its own.

Late 90s/early 00s was a golden age for growing up. I would do anything to go back. No social media, no smartphones, people could have a healthy debate without insults, insinuations, or trying to ruin someone's life. People could be raunchy without being cancelled. Sure, there were problems... but I legit feel bad for kids growing up these days.

Driving looks much easier back then, and this video took place in LA. Portland traffic keeps getting worse every year. I remembered during my childhood that there’s less traffic on the road in the early 2000s.
In 2000 I was still driving my 1995 Subaru Brat. Wow that Jeep looked nice! I have a black 2002 Jeep Cherokee that's been baby'd and in pristine condition. I love that car!

Thats because it was still the 90s back in 2000s. You aren't going to see a huge change till like 2004. Just like how you have to wait till 2024 to see a huge difference from 2020.
Changes around you are only really guaranteed to become noticeable when you start from looking back a minimum of 4-6 years. But just in the streets of the suburbs, though, I doubt even a decade would make much of a difference. Say for example you look back 8-10 years from now. Kids already had iphones back then. Cars looks the same as now. The people don't dress too differently, either.
2020 is a compete new and different 10 years. The 2010s was nothing special.. but this upcoming 10 years much will change.. gasoline and diesel cars will be disappearing slowly and the Ev’s will dominate the roads gasoline cars will be forbidden in city centers and. More and more other things will be forbidden. More more people less space. Not enough houses. New crisis is coming

The traffic looks much easier to drive in back then, and that’s Los Angeles. I live in Portland BTW. Also, I think the cars look better. Most of them are sedans. The Dodge Stratus and Chrysler Cirrus are the coolest looking cars I’ve ever seen. Most people drive overrated Subaru SUVs nowadays.

I was 13 in the year 2000, I remember my dad took me and my older brother to a WWII re-enactment, wow! The audience was handful of the veterans! the average age of a WWII vet in 2000 was 76 years old.. now In 2022 they are all almost gone :(
There were even some ww1 vets left at that time.
