Happy Thanksgiving to my US friends!! I wanted to get this video up sooner, but it took a lot of time to put all these tips and examples together! I sincerely hope it helps you figure out a few new ways to save some money and find a great planner on a budget! Don't forget to comment to enter the two giveaways! Two more videos coming up in this series in the next week, so please subscribe so you don't miss them!
I dont mean to be off topic but does anyone know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly forgot the account password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me!
@Jett Landon Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Your videos helped me choose this year's Christmas gift for my granddaughter who is about to set up her first apartment. I went with the Erin Condren system, which was pretty pricey, but she's going to love it all. Now I want some planners of my own, so your budget video can help me get started. Thank you!
I loved this video! What am an amazing and creative way to shop the local budget stores and get creative with what you find! And I will definitely be trying your idea for asking for discounts on outdated stock!!
I like all of your tips. The most helpful for me to use was using the paper pad in the different ways. Thanks. I'm interested in the Recollection planner. Good luck everyone. Happy Thanksgiving.
Hi Vicky!!! You have been chosen as the winner of the Recollections planner set! Email me at sarra@heartbreathings.com with your mailing address, and I'll get this sent out to you!
Always the putz!!! Love your name. Before you buy a planner. Use some lined paper to figure out if your vertical or horizontal planner. It will bother you all year if get the wrong one or start over in new one. Which kinda takes the wind out of your sails. That would be my little nugget of advice. 😎😎😎 P.S: Also size matters. I tried a big planner 1st time made a huge difference. Good Luck!!! 🎅❄🎅
This was such a helpful video. I was already using several of the tips, but you definitely gave me some ideas of how to save even more than I have in the past. I think my favorite was the tip about being able to use competitors' coupons and combine them with non-sale items at another store. I had forgotten you could do that.
I truly enjoyed this video. It really inspired to go ahead and check out this Black Friday’s deals online... Also, as always, loved all the showcased stationery....
Thanks for the helpful tips! I personally bullet journal, and I never realized Walmart had something comparable to the Leuchterm that I generally use. I will definitely look into the Exceed journals!
Great video AND that shirt is SO ADORABLE! I use supertips for my planner. Just make sure you know that water drips will spread the color, so don't use for something that MUST be permanent. Use them as highlighters and stuff to help. You can get regular writing pads from Dollar Tree that are easy to hole punch. Perfect for the half size binders. The Walmart Exceed journals are the ones I use for my bujo!
Another great video! Lots of us need this advice- I plan on a budget and it helps to know where to go. Another find is Hobby Lobby or other art/crafts stores. They have sales every other week on planners and BuJo notebooks. I got a lovely A5 notebook with good paper quality for under 6 bucks for my new job.
Thank you again for more useful information. I had not thought of fb buy and sell group's for my planner supplies but I'm going to check some out and sign up, cheers.
Love the tips! We don't have any discount stores nearby, but we do have a dollar tree! I'm about to start planning a new story, so I'll probably head there this weekend. I also think it's great that you mentioned the stencils. I've been debating whether to get the HB90 undated next quarter and thought about using stencils and markers for the dates and things (horrible handwriting here), so validation is nice to have, lol.
Those are great tips I sometimes also use wrapping paper leftovers to decorate by fuzzy cutting the images, it may be more work but if you love the images and cant find stickers and such (and dont have a printer) this is an alternative and if you are lucky enough to have a dollar store near you its inexpensive.
Hey Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! I love the Recollections planner set give away. You just never know when you start really looking around what you can find and at a reasonable price! Thanks for all of these videos!
Loving this series, Sarra! I literally just today visited a Kikki K shop (I'm in New Zealand) and walked out empty-handed because their planners are SO expensive. Love all the creative ideas - perfect timing! - I'm inspired to come up with something more creative and cheaper.
I love the Michael's planners. I just clip the holes like Erin Condern covers and they come off just fine. You can also make your own covers. Just take your supplies to Staples etc. and they can do that for you
Thanks for the videos. I'm not nearly as organized as I need to be, and I have decided to plan things out. I bought some graph notebooks when they were on sale at Wal-Mart. I'm making my own planner in that, because I've not found any that are laid out like I want. I need month and week spreads along with daily sheets. I need something to plan the daily with, and all in one place or I'll never get it done. So I'm drawing it out bullet journal style and using my washi and colored pencils etc to decorate. I might share a pic of the spreads in the FB group if I get brave.
Thanks so much for the inspiration! This is the only place I can share this. Two years ago I bought two expensive planners but I never used either one consistently. I took them apart this afternoon and cobbled together a planner that will work until Sept 2020 with two years worth of the sections that I hadn't used. Woo
So many great tips! The Walmart exceed journals are so great, they’ve got so many different styles that mimic popular brands! Their fauxbo one is adorable.
Thank you so much, this video was so helpful and informative. I’ve been wanting to try a bullet journal. I’ll now be checking my Walmart, dollar tree and other discount stores for planning and journaling supplies! Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for taking the time to get this up before the sales, so kind! And your shirt is adorable!
Those are some great ideas! I have become seriously addicted to buying planners myself, so these ideas should help me save some money. Wishing you a happy Thanksgiving!!!
I love the Michaels planner. I will have to go there and look at them! Thank you for the tips! These will be really helpful since me and my boyfriend are wanting to start our own business.
I recently went to the dollar store and got two planners. They are simple but cute, and are perfect for what I need. I am going to check for pens and tape next time I go back! :) And maybe another planner for my stories, haha!
Now that I have finally managed to finished watching the whole thing, I just have to say I really love your tips and are looking forward to seeing how I can put them into place.
Thank you so much for sharing all your tip really great tip enjoy everything lot’s of cute cute stuff Didn’t know you could go in the store and ask if the planner or damaged or kind of out of date you could ask them if you could get it for cheaper so thank you for sharing going to do that next time I’m looking for planner so many great tips enjoy your weekend ❤️🛡🙌🏾❤️🛡🙌🏾
Hi Sarra! Thanks so much for these videos - I've learned a lot and can't wait till I can get somewhere to start getting my planner products (I live over 2 hours away from a large city - ugh) I would love to get the Exceed set your offering in your giveaway and if I won I wouldn't have to travel - ha ha. Anyway please keep up the great videos - I love them! 😍
I love that you have made this video just when I am looking for planners! Super informative and thank you for this amazing giveaway! I would also prefer the bullet journal
thank you so much for this video! it has helped me with some new ideas! wooooo. i just became apart of so many planner buy and sell groups on facebook hehe! x x x
I just bought stickers yesterday at Michaels (I braved the Black Fri crowds) and now I have a coupon to use for Washi! Thanks for all your tips, Sarra!
Yeaaah an international giveaway!! I’m in 😃 Love your channel so much, you were the first person I watched when I got into my morningpages and started journaling and you’re a true inspiration 😍
This was a great video! I’m a planner who likes to buy the latest stuff so I’m going to keep this list with me and when I’m in the mood, but from it so I can save some money.
Wow, $1 EC planner. But did u ever repurpose it ? Lol I do try to wait till the end of year or beginning of year for a new planner deal. Really loving the items Walmart is coming out with!!! I recently found happy planners at Ross for $6!!! For medium 18mo planners.
I love these tips. I spend money on a good planner and then hunt for reasonably priced supplies! I have been toying with the idea of starting a bullet journal. I love the tip of getting the notebook at Walmart. This way I can try it out and see if I enjoy it first.
Love your videos as always! I forget about Big Lots all the time, but Tuesday Morning is my fave discount store for paper products. Thanks for a chance to win your lovely giveaway!
These videos have been super helpful for me. I've been trying to figure out how to use a planner for so long. Thanks for the help, I'm going to really try to put all these tips to use come the new year. :D
the "print your stickers" is my favourite tip: i'm actually cutting littles icons that i covered in scotch tape to make them shiny (and because my printer 's ink "bleeds" and when i glue the paper to a page of my bujo, it leaves a trace on the other page, hope i'm being clear) while watching this video.^^ Thank you for this video, this was helpful!
Ok, a lot of the stores you listed discount stores are in my state, journaling makes you a collector of sorts. I love traveling to different states to see what they have in terms of discounts. One thing about dollar tree you can shop on line if you find something you like. I have found Heidi Swapp journal set in joanns and Bjs. So just keep an open mind when journaling cause a lot of supplies are out there. My husband and girlfriend’s husband have asked for my pads and note journals. They are amazed at my color code ink pens, markers and post it. So easy for me to go to what information I need.
I've been enjoying catching up on your video ;) I only found you a few weeks ago ... so many great tips and ideas , thanks so much for sharing! Sunshine (aka Donna)
Wow you guys have some great stuff for a good price! Leuchhturms here are $45...so I buy the clearance notebook diary at the end of the year for $2.50 and just use to lined notes page
I just checked out the Webster's Pages website - what good deals! Thanks for that tip. I've used almost all these tricks to get discounted stuff but I've never had the guts to negotiate a price. I have the Exceed bullet journal and washi tape from Walmart that you showed in your video. I recently did a Dollar Tree and 99 Cents store shopping spree and got a ton of stuff. I got a few super nice journals at the 99 Cents store for $3-$5 each, little Post-It notes (name brand) for 99 cents each.
I love using coupons at Michaels. I recently picked up the Recollections A5 size punch for 50% off and am excited to print my sheers and punch holes into everything. Lol!

@Isaac Baylor instablaster ;)
@Jett Landon Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Jett Landon it did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thanks so much you saved my ass :D
@Isaac Baylor You are welcome =)
You’ve got the nicest binders. It would be an interesting video to see how you store everything?
The cutting up off different coloured paper and sticking into the planner is a brilliant idea, never thought of that. Great idea.
I love your tips and how detailed you are with them.... thank you for all your videos😊👍
Your videos helped me choose this year's Christmas gift for my granddaughter who is about to set up her first apartment. Thank you for the video. It was very informative and I love the idea of re-dating an outdated planner.
Thanks for the helpful tips! I personally bullet journal, and I never realized Walmart had something comparable to the Leuchterm that I generally use. I will definitely look into the Exceed journals!
I love the paper from Dollar tree. I have seen them but not known what to do with it but now Indo. Thanks for the great tips!!! ❤️

Dollar Tree, Wal-Mart, and Big Lots are right up my alley! As a mom of six I've always been on a tight budget. Thanks!

I love the Michael's planners. I just clip the holes like Erin Condern covers and they come off just fine. You can also make your own covers. Just take your supplies to Staples etc. and they can do that for you
Can you get the Erin Conrad covers to fit the Michaels planners?
@@juliamckernan354 The EC covers fit the Michael's planner just fine. The EC covers have just one hole more but it doesn't effect it at all.
I love the idea of using the paper to create stickers and decorating tape.
Great video and tips!! Dollar tree has some great planner supplies and stationery.
Thank you so much for the great planner ideas. I'm looking forward to putting one of my 2020 planners together using some of your tips!

We have Poundlands etc in the UK with some good products.
No, you don’t need to break the bank to get some good stuff to get yourself organised!👍😁
the "print your stickers" is my favourite tip: i'm actually cutting littles icons that i covered in scotch tape to make them shiny (and because my printer 's ink "bleeds" and when i glue the paper to a page of my bujo, it leaves a trace on the other page, hope i'm being clear) while watching this video.^^

I love the Exceed journals!
I was shocked at how affordable they are!!
Thanks for the tips. I have a question. Where did you find that white and red desk? It would be perfect in my bedroom.
Ok, a lot of the stores you listed discount stores are in my state, journaling makes you a collector of sorts. I love traveling to different states to see what they have in terms of discounts. This isn't my idea, but gift tags are great stickers. Whiteout the "to" and "from" and voila! You got a sticker. 😊
I love looking at TJ Max and Tuesday Morning for discount stationary. ❤️
Hi Sarra, Lots of great ideas here. I am a thrifty girl. Sometimes I even cut images from magazines or glossy ads to use in my planner.
That's a great idea!!!
Thank you for the great ideas - so much info!
You always share such helpful information.
I love the Kiki planners but are the inserts standard? Where did you buy your inserts? Yours are so pretty.
