In Nagaland, the STs are divided into two groups as Advanced tribes and Backward tribes. The Angami, Lotha and Ao are Advanced tribes whereas the Chang, Konyak, Phom, Sangtam, Yimchungru and Khiamniungam are Backward tribes. Each group has separate reservation quota. In Assam, their STs are divided into two groups as Plain tribes and Hill tribes. The Bodo, Deori, Sonowal, Mishing and Rabha are Plain tribes whereas the Karbi and Dimasa are Hill tribes. Each group has separate reservation quota. Manipur can have two groups of STs as ST (Hills) and ST (Valley) having separate reservation quota each by not crossing into each other's sphere. The present 31% reservation quota will remain undisturbed. There'll be no question of "Chaklukta Khujai Thangjinba" (interference) as propounded by some Meetei professors of MU and their ilk who opposed ST demand tooth and nail. The Census of India in 1881, 1891, 1901 and 1931 recorded the Meetei as forest tribes, Hindu tribes and main tribes etc. Only from the Census in 1951 the Meetei were mistakenly delisted without assigning any reason thereof either to the State or the public in gazette notification.

Now I came to know that our previous politicians who could not open thier mouth in parliament is they lack sense and sensibility for instance honorable RK Ranjan a PhD degree holder had only this sentence "Law and situation in Manipur is totally fail" that too in the critical situation of Manipur. In my opinion there has been no deserving candidate so far in Manipur except professor Bimol. Honourable Th Basanta Kumar is also in the same level of RK Ranjan as he has no voice regarding the present issues of Manipuri people so far. Manipuri people get dignity only when Professor Bimol becomes the MP from Manipur...

Respected Professor,it is not because of other communities recognised as tribes rather it is how Meitei themselves catagorised as a superior community and discrimanatory attitude towards tribal community for more hundred if years.You know why tribes of Manipur got ST status due to social,economic factors.Meitei society within themselves artificially created SC who were excluded from the larger populace and subjected to various discriminatory treatments .Think about the intensity of drmiscrimination that a tribal,lower class Meitei might have been subjected to.A tribal is not allowed to enter a Meitri house in past days and this practice still very active in yhe present day in some areas,houses.To resoove such ill-treatments for hundred of years ,the visionary leaders set a vision and brought it into practical scheme in the form of affirmative ,positive actions(inequlaity) to uplift the downtrodden section so as to bridge the already widen social and economic gap between Meitei community in general and tribal community in Manipur.Please accept the reality as it is and do not try to bend the social structure to suit your narrative only.

In this 10% valley, once land is owned by tribals and other communities, we cannot buy it. Additionally, we cannot buy land in the remaining 90% of the state simply because we are not tribal, despite being indigenous to this land. While we already share this 10% with other Indians, the concern arises for the future when outsiders might easily displace us due to the upcoming train. That's why we need Scheduled Tribe (ST) status. It's puzzling how there's no issue when larger communities like Dalits become ST, but problems arise when Meiteis, who are more eligible, seek ST status.
You have ILP system,,here is quite clear that there is n will not be insecurity towards the influx from general mainland Indian people.When you as a community isolated another tribes for hundred of years,and now suddenly trying to snatch the affirmative action given to the tribal minority.It is never a honest scheme to usher in peace@@lexhei
