38:09 This is a really good point; the male Inquisitor feels like the instigator in a lot of the romances he can have, whilst the female inquisitor generally has the guys falling for her first. It's like an ode towards romance stories, plus I enjoy the different dynamics.

@@lep2525 Yes, absolutely. Up to the point, where he asks to give him some time to think, Lavellan is the one pursuing him really. He knows he is on his mission, and knows what he has to do, he would think it would be amoral to pursue anyone. And since Lavellan is the one initiating flirts, catching him off guard, playing word games to make him confess he has indeed feelings, and then kiss him first, he just folds.
I purposely made my Inky a dwarf (and kinda look like Varric) to romance Cassandra cos I love Cass and Varric's bickering banters, and to annoy her some more. But Cassandra is that lovely. XD
Cassandra romance is so good! Perhaps the truth in the end is that the inquisitor is the best romance in the game 😅

Cassandra is a big softy encased in her iron lady persona, when you learn about her past when she opens up to you (and the animated movie dedicated to her) you understand why she's the woman she is.

I took like 3 hours to design my inquisitor. He looks just like me. And whenever I see the pictures I took of him and Cassandra together it makes me happy. I love her. I really do. Getting to know her was a process. A long worthwhile process...but she's so wonderful & introspective. Her moments of vulnerability are amazing. The whole thing with Varric and his book made me swoon I won't lie. I was happy going around collecting poetry books. Putting in the effort for her to have the things she felt she couldn't. Her bashfulness is literally the cutest thing. I'm a mage and she stronger than me and I love that about her. To quote sera, "I'd stand behind her in front of anything." She won't let anyone take me from her, and I won't let anyone take her from me.

I remember my first playthrough. All I knew is that Cullen was a romance choice and that a lady in a yellow dress you have to duel for was too.
I played as a female qunari. At first I liked Cassandra, but then she rejected me because she's straight... Then I met Dorian and I was intrigued, but turns out he's gay.
I ended up not romacing anyone because I hate Cullen (if he liked qunari I would love to lead him on and break his heart), Sera annoys me too much, I already knew Josephine's and I wasn't into Iron Bull.
Would've loved to romance either Cole, Varric or Vivienne, but alas, I don't have romantic luck in this game
My absolute favorite of my 10 playthroughs of this game was my male mage Inquisitor. He romanced Cassandra, and they were happy. But in the end he did encourage her to become Divine, because he knew that she could do so much good for everyone, and it would be selfish of him not to. They enjoyed what time they still had together and had a wonderful interaction during the Trespasser DLC, and in the end, he decided to continue the Inquisition under the oversight of the Divine, so that he and Cassandra would continue to work close together for the rest of their lives.

it depends on the romance. even if you romance iron bull you are still the submissive one being courted. also i find it easier to do multiple playthroughs by making each world state vastly different then the other. my canon playthough is usually power hungryish mage but im currently doing a holy war thing.
So far, this is my favorite romance in DAI, although you are right, they are all pretty well written.

I downloaded a mod that lets me romance Cassie as a female Inquisitor. It wasn't perfect (for one thing, some of the romance lines never got recorded by the female voice actors), but it was still absolutely worth it.

this romance is great and probably the best of the game, but the one with Sera (choose a qunari female) is good too...unfortunately i wanted to try with Leliana but it's impossible , should be cool with a thief
Leliana has been a romance option before in the first game , Dragon Age Origins. Either they didn´t want to anger DAO fans for some reasons and it was to complicated to program a new romance with her given her possible pastwith the warden.

I was hoping Cassandra would do the courting, her being so strong willed and...well, strong. And I was a bit disappointed she wanted me to do it. But hey, it was worth the effort I guess.
It's a nice romance as these games go, but I wish there was more development after you get together. It feels like her character becomes a bit too passive after you're officially together.
When you said that you want us guys to read what you read so that we know what you like and want, as a man I can say, from experience, as soon as we men get close, you change your likes and wants without telling us. I'm not saying all women do, just that I and many of my friends had the same experience. So ladies, please give us guys a chance to try to understand before you yell at us for not getting it. Most men do try, they just need time.
