This game has skill trees, food carrying, baby carrying, nesting, growth assists, a growth system that rewards you for growing past 100%, mixed herding groups, the burrow mechanic for ory is amazing, weather mechanics, pteranadonnnn, MULTIPLE dinosaur slots in each server so you don’t have to server hop or kill a Dino to change Dino’s, and more customization options. It’s legit got everything every other dinosaur game wishes it had, but has the graphics of like a cartoony Dino game as a fault. People dismiss it because of the appearance when it’s legit more engaging than any other Dino game out atm. Also, gamma settings. You can adjust them freely within the game.
Good game is good.

@Krystian Zięba I really do prefer The Isle over BoB Lol, I couldnt get into BoB while I could easily get into the Isle, I felt alot more immersed in the Isle. its true graphics isnt everything, but BoB looks like 2005 web browser game.

I honestly think this was the best video I've ever seen of our game. I really liked how you went into the details of each creature and explained its strengths and weaknesses. I very much enjoyed watching it, and at several points I found the video to be quite funny. You put a lot of time into creating this and really emphasized quality content here over quantity of uploaded content.
We have put a tremendous amount of effort into trying to make the mechanics of our game and of our creatures unique and interesting, as we wish for none of our playable creatures to feel boring, feel like bad choices. or feel like inferior versions of larger or similar-typed creatures. I'm glad to see a video published that points out a lot of the things the creatures in our roster can do, even if some of it is a bit insane.
I agree with you on the aquatic roster and, in general, the aquatic scene. The addition of Ichthy and Lurdu has helped a bit, but we do need more true aquatics. Flyers have a similar issue, with Pteranodon being our only current flyer. I think as the game matures and we get more aquatics and flyers in, we'll see these areas of the game become a bit more interesting. Nonetheless, getting aquatics and terrestrials to interact without it feeling forced or being frustrating for the victim has been an issue we've not yet really found a great solution for. It's a hard problem.
Ichthy does need something. Same with Lurdu. We're not sure yet, but I would like to give them something a bit special beyond just being semi-aquatic. Megalo, to some extent, is also this way, being that it's fairly vanilla with its capabilities and setup.
We're always very cautious about how we alter and balance the Apatosaurus. At any time, a predator can choose to leave the fight. The Apato cannot run, nor can it hide. It is for this reason that we have kept it so hard to take down. Getting its tail working to such efficacy was also quite a fun challenge. Between aiming the tail, controlling the neck, timing your stomps while not opening yourself up, walking backwards, and positioning yourself to hold off several predators at once, there's actually a lot of skill and thought involved behind being a good Apato player. We just had a rather lengthy balance testing session tonight. Several Apato vs Acro fights were actually ran. There's a very skilled Apatosaurus player named Bite who we cannot ever beat. We can sometimes beat other testers when they play the Apato role, but we can't beat her. She always lures me into the wrong place at the wrong time and I always end up dying.
Nonetheless, I'd welcome having you come along to a combat session sometime. We usually run fights, discuss balance and intended matchup outcomes, discuss mechanics, ideas, and how to correct specific balance situations without breaking other matchups, and all kinds of stuff. There's some interesting new changes in the works for next patch that we've been messing with lately.

@@suchomimustenerensis no not really. Ceratosaurus is absolutely viable. "Viable" only means the creature has a realistic possibility of surviving to adulthood. It is 100% possible to survive as a Cerato, you just got to understand what you can and can't do

I was quite the Isle player.
My gf loved BoB and wanted me to try it so I thought let's try. I honestly didn't think i'd like it but after the first 200 hours I haven't looked back. I tried playing the Isle a while back again and I just realized how much the Isle bored and annoyed me.
My only complaint is that most people seem to not be able to make any good looking skins. It's alot of garbage neon but the recent skin filters are a life saver.

Video was quite entertaining, game truly is underrated, if only the dino sim genre wasn't just an ocean of The Isle videos, a game that really dose not deserve the praise it receives
Its a decent game, but the only things it has on this game is better graphics and slightly better overall stability, this game has SO MUCH STUFF, its rather insane.
Ik the isle is like the bomb in youtube. It literally has its own personal youtube channel funneling sympathy and interest for the game. Meanwhile bob is sitting over here with just as good, if not better gameplay and getting actual updates and new creatures added to the game regularly, something the isle has never been able to achieve. When I first joined the game, acro didn't exist, ptera was broken, elasmo didn't exist, ory was pure speculation, saichania was unheard of, pachy hadn't been added, and there was only one save loaded up automatically.
Julianne Collins Isle has been able to achieve that though. Back when legacy wasn’t broken. It’s a completely new game now, you have to give it credit.

Nice I’ve waited for sum like this, I’ve honestly been playing beasts of Bermuda more than the isle lmao. Also for me I would love to see kaprosuchus in the game since you brought up a pic of one. Also yea spinosaur fossils have a thing for being destroyed often. One more thing as well I think megalo should’ve just been a bit higher just bc they can literally hunt anything if they’re in a pack which they often are.

I tried BoB but got so frustrated about not ever being able to survive. I know it's a survival game, but to me it seemed almost impossible. You will always be found by something while trying to grow and then there's no escape because you're not big enough. I'm an Isle player and all the trees and bushes are amazing for hiding. There's literally nowhere in BoB you can hide like that.
Also when trying to play with friends, we kept dying before we ever met up. Once we finally did, we got attacked by flyers, fled in to a water cave (we were Itchys), got attacked by aquatics, I made it back out only to be killed by the flyers. There's no escape, just endlessly dying again and again. As flyers it's even worse because as a new player it was impossible to find a friendly group, all other flyers just attacked me, even after 2 calling.
The game is so stressful. I just want a nice bush to hide in when needed, lol.

Ngl, that just makes it a challenge. Nature isn't easy, you have to understand, that's like playing easy mode of a better experienced game when it's hard.

my only disagreement is ichy I feel like it's dart speed wasn't touched apon enough since it allows it to out run mosas if on equal stats. But that aside, best BoB video I've seen and it's a massive shame people dismiss the game because dondi told them to, or because the graphics aren't good

We play as icthy because of cannibalistic megs and sneaky kronos
I just can't enjoy BoB that much since the fighting is so overly clunky, and the fact that it rewards play time over skill. Coupled with the fact that you can't attack if your ability pool is at zero, so packs have a huge advantage over solo players.
What would be cool if they extended the skill tree that allows a person to be in a herd or solo. Like you get unique bonuses or abilities if you are alone.
I always play on chill servers, so I never have this issue :)

What if Ichthyovenators has an electromagnetic sense, like crocodiles, allowing it to sense nearby creatures and fish in the water, giving it an early warning system to avoid attacked by large aquatics. The Lurdosaurus could have something similar
If ichty gets to a certain size, it can actually hunt megs on land pretty easily, especially if you have powerful legs. Also I find it pretty funny that you consider meg as a "safe" carnivore, as the cannibalism is so prevalent, without a big group you're dead and cannot hide anywhere.
wtf, how is customisation a flaw.... and the ui is perfectly fine, never heard anyone complain about it.

Anyway from my personal experiences this tier list is 100% accurate, Pachys are crazy crackheads that are always angry at the world,Mosas will indeed Ocean Man you if they have the chance,Velos do indeed have too much power and won't bloody stop moving,The Semi Aquatics don't do well against pure land or pure aquatic creatures,Ptera is easy mode and you can get to 1.0 helth in no time and Megalo which I main is exactly as you said it is, great at scavenging bad at hunting.
On combat servers I have legitimately seen fully customised apatosaurus dying to fully customised velos and pteras
apatos can't take damage from pteras tho
they don't bleed when pteras bite them, before though, ptera could kill apas

And for the question about Ichty. I found out that that is the creature I most enjoy playing. It can get to places Megs and Elasmo cannot get (well they can but it would hurt them) They playstyle is mostly chill which I love. Most of the ichtys I met are also chill so a very little canibalism. That would never happened to me if I met a Meg pack. Maybe elasmo pack would be also chill to other elasmo. We (ichtys) can bully any marine creature. With land ones no so much thats true. Still love playing Ichty and would put it to B or C even :)

The game's been optimized (consistently getting 30 fps on my crap computer, when I was on 15 before), graphics have improved (espeeecially the water textures), and the UI...well, that's not something I have a problem with, but you do you, dude.

I consider that a POPULAR opinion after what happened to that game...I'll play a shitty looking game with fun gameplay anyday,but a pretty tech demo with red flags galore made by a person with a history of fraud and abandoning a certain project and leaving others to deal with the consequences?
