Hello Pete! Greetings from Botswana. I fear I must apologize for my atrocious English skills, as it's actually my _third_ language, and I don't quite have a good grasp on it just yet. However, I make time to study every single night, and I feel that my skills are rapidly improving. My ability to articulate my thoughts and feelings in this language may be sub-standard at the moment, but I pray to the Gods that one day I will be able to overcome this dreadful language barrier. Anyway, I digress. I simply wanted to stop by and leave a friendly message! I must say, I am a huge fan.
I watch your videos on occasion (I am not able to view them regularly, as I don't own a computer myself, and the only available internet connection in our entire country is located within the confines of our capital building -- luckily, I am a chef and happen to make a mean Vetkoek, which has landed me in the kitchens of the Gaborone City Council building, cooking for our elite ruling class -- this has afforded to me the occasional opportunity to access the wonderful world wide web, when I am on my best behaviour, of course!) I am always quick to visit your channel, as it is one of my favourites! Much in the same way I have aspirations to improve my abilities with the English language, I also have great aspirations when it comes to the guitar! I have taken much inspiration from your channel since I discovered it. I am moved by the sheer heaviness and raw emotion you are able to convey in your works. On multiple occasions, I have been brought to tears and rendered speechless after experiencing some of your music (a personal favourite would have to be Apex 2.0; a brilliant piece).
I have taken several notes on your hand positions and song writing techniques, and hope to one day incorporate what I have learned from your channel into my own unique playing style. Once I am able to possess a guitar for myself, I will take everything I have learned and put it to good use, I promise. I have been practicing diligently between my language studies and cooking to gain a working knowledge of carpentry, and once I have mastered that, I will focus my attention on lutherie, then, and only then, will I be able to construct a working guitar for myself and begin playing. It may take a lifetime to achieve, considering my current pace at improving myself in most endeavors seems to be likened to that of a snail, however I will not waver. I have made this my life's goal and I will see it through. I just wanted to thank you, Pete, for giving me the inspiration to carry on.
I am sad to say that my allotted time at the computer for today is all but over. Due to my struggles with completing this message in English, I have evidently used up all of my available time. In retrospect, I should have anticipated this would be a lengthy enterprise, but alas, I am a fool and did not consider this to be a possibility (I no longer have the time needed to visit my beloved Lexi Belle, and I fear that will weigh heavily on my mind for the coming days, but I will take relief in knowing I finally reached out to you Pete.) So long, and thanks for everything you do!

Nice Del Rey in the background. I picked one up for $100 a few years ago in good condition. It's cheaply made but love the unique, acoustic tinged voice of it's open coil pick-ups.

It's nice hearing guitar that doesn't have 9 strings tuned down to Z flat.
loved the original version of this song with that old guitar. that guitar had a great single coil sound. also being an aussie big ups to the karinvool call out.
Orange is by far my favorite amp company. I've played Marshalls, Blackstars, VOX...any big name you can think of. Orange is the best.
i prefer this version to dominion than the one on bandcamp. it's just so badass! great playing and tones! i have had this on loop many times

Pretty awesome. Never been too crazy about Orange, I always thought they were too fizzy, but this sounds pretty good. Maybe I need to go back and reformulate my opinion on them.
The speakers can do a lot. Greenbacks vs. V30.... Big difference. But my ears hear more of the lower midrange toughness that cuts through the mix with a...Growl if you will? I have never heard a ear piercing crappy tone from Orange UK amps. IMHO clean tones are perfect.

Opinions on the dual dark vs your peavey?
I used to own a dual dark with a torpedo live, but I've now swapped to an Evh 5150 III Stealth with 212 cab (Maxon OD808X in the front).
I'm loving my evh more but I'm not sure if that's due to the cab over torpedo?
The orange did have a much lower noise floor though, even with the drive I only needed a tiny bit a gating with hotter pickups, where as the Evh I do need a fair bit of gating to shut it up.

Badass amp. I got an orange micro dark amp with a 1x8 cab, sounds great. Pair that bitch up with a Boss distortion and overdrive, you get a sick sound.

+leon sanchez For good tone, the Orange for sure. But, the Orange won't get you any modern high gain tones, it's more suited to rock. Save up and check out a Peavey 6505 MH for more modern tones :)
