Hi Nadia. I am a data scientist with PhD in statistics from a British University. I have about 6 publications in decent journals. I also have excellent skills in programing with Python and R. I have public profiles in GitHub and participated in some of Kaggle competitions about AI and have managed to get into the leaderboard but not good places. Also I have 7 years experience of teaching numerical analysis at a University in my country. Is it possible to get global talent visa or I need to secure more achievements?
I found your amazing channel through google. thank you so much. your playlist helped me a lot. just one question, should all of the publications and speeches be in English? or can they be in our mother language?
hi Nadia thanks for this. i have plans for the Global Talent visa few months from now One of the requirement is public speaking which I have not done any at all. But I have contributed to open source and written few articles on medium. with this, will I have a strong case ?
Hi, thanks for watching! Open source is great and articles are great (however, the Tech Nation Visa guide mentions that they don't like Medium articles so it is better to blog on another platform or your own website, please see the guide for more: technation.io/visa-tech-nation-visa-guide/) I wish I could give a straightforward answer and just tell you whether you have a strong case or not, but there is not enough information, since I don't know which other documents you are planning to submit. With this visa, we need to look at each case holistically, i.e. look at the entire case overall, at the overall story that you are building and how each of your documents supports your case. Would you like to share what else you are planning to submit? P.S. You can do it here or email me at nadia@beetlehope.com.
Many thanks for the information, Nadia. Given that my spouse is an artist (portraits and landscapes)-she has sketched and painted over 100 pieces but never had them published nor sold anywhere. Currently, we arrived in the UK one month ago under the high potential individual visa, which is valid for two years and cannot be extended. Could you please advise if my spouse can apply for the Global Talent visa and get an extension? Thank you.
Thank you, Nadia, for your channel. It's been really helpful. I have a question regarding the blogs: may I use them for my website and is there any relevance to TH-cam speech?
You are welcome. I'm glad you found my channel useful. I'm not sure I understand your question though. What do you mean when you ask whether you can use blogs for your website? Could you please clarify? Thanks!
Thanks for sharing I have a question Is it required to have the publications & public speaking in English or the native language with subtitle is accepted?
Hi Samaila, this is an excellent question. To me, "Public speaking" is more about speaking at events, and podcast appearances are more about "Media recognition". For example, in the case of my own endorsement application, I used my podcast appearances in an evidence piece for Mandatory Criteria that I called "Media mentions". I had a separate evidence piece for Public speaking, where I listed all my public speaking, whether at IRL or virtual industry events. To me, a podcast appearance sounds more like a media mention rather than a public speaking engagement, but in any case, this is definitely proof of your "recognition as a leader in tech", which is what Mandatory Criteria is all about. This will surely boost your profile in the eyes of Tech Nation. Does this help? Let me know if you have further questions.
Can I use just payslip only payslip or only online publications as a Mandatory criteria. Like you mention the difference options, but I want to know if I can use just 1 only or I have to combine different options on same document as 1 mandatory criteria? Second Question; Is payslip a compulsory mandatory or optional document? Like can one do without payslip on application or is it a must it has to be one of the evidences?
A payslip (plus an employment contract) is just one of the documents you can submit to support the mandatory criteria, and in my view, for a lot of people it's one of the "weakest" documents they can submit... We can talk in more detail about the specifics of your case in a one-on-one consultation if you wish, it's hard to give advice without knowing the particulars of your situation.
@@beetlehope in which context is salary document considered the weakest document? I earned 60K USD in one year from a full time job. I was hired for hourly rate (35 USD / hr). isn't this a strong document that i was paid a high salary?
Hi Nadia, how do you show proof from a webpage? Do you screenshot or save as pdf? I am having issues with understanding the specific way they want the webpage document, since they specify the documents need to be 'no longer than two sides of A4 paper' but my webpage document is longer than 2 pages. I would really appreciate if you could clarify.
You can always grab a screenshot of the relevant part of the page and paste it into a google doc along with context on what this screenshot demonstrates. Also provide a link to the original web page. You can then save the google doc as a pdf and upload as an evidence piece. I hope this helps!
For Mandatory criteria I would recommend using examples of public speaking at leading industry events in your sector (eg. conferences, online / IRL). Your own TH-cam videos can be used for Optional Criteria 2, if they are educational in nature and have significant viewership. I've interviewed a few people who used their TH-cam channels as part of their application, you will probably find these interviews valuable: th-cam.com/video/NU9gxnuuXEc/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/qsV0ZT2RMcI/w-d-xo.html

It's hard to answer such specific questions without looking at the details of your particular situation. What kind of teaching are you referring to? Could you provide more details?
Hi, fantastic video! Thanks Nadia! Is it correct that to meet the mandatory criteria you need to show all three documents for your case? So, do you need to have profs for high salary, public speaking and publications?
Not necessarily, no, it is a little more complex... What I have seen most applicants do is submit the following: - 4 documents proving Mandatory Criteria - 3 documents proving First Optional Criteria - 3 documents proving Second Optional Criteria since in total you can submit 10 pieces of evidence and you want to have more documents for the Mandatory criteria. But these numbers are not set in stone, sometimes people will have 5 documents for mandatory criteria and just two for one of the optional ones. It depends on how strong each document is and it is important to look at the whole case holistically. I will talk about other documents that can be used to prove the mandatory criteria, so that you can get a complete overview of which ones you can use. Also, once I have reviewed all the documents in my videos, I will talk about how many of which you need to fulfil each criteria and how they can be arranged while applying (i.e. which piece of evidence goes where). It was probably the hardest thing for me to grok personally in this whole process :) For now I am setting the scene and giving potential applicants pointers as to where they might start building their case. I'm also working on a product that will hopefully make this process a bit easier: beetlehope.com/talent/
Very informative 👏. One thing that I want you to talk about exceptional promise. There are alot of freshers in tech industry and i don't find much content on Internet about exceptional promise. Everyone talks about exceptional talent. So i think it would be a great initiative if you start series on both categories ( exceptional talent and exceptional promise ) So many people give up because they don't know how to do it. Thanks for considering my comment.
Thank you for this comment, and I'm glad to hear you found the video informative.
