I know this video is a year old (I only just discovered your channel) but as a further boat brat myself (LONG ago) and as a fan of the sailing With Six channel, I think the best thing you can't do for your kids is to treat them as proper crew. By my thirteenth birthday I could do the basic servicing on a diesel engine and I could work the sails and use the VHF and I loved it.
My two girls were both boating before they were born, we had the same slip on the upper Niagara river for over 20 years, docking with the current turned into an art, I used to scare the crap out of the newbies coming in because it was a single screw inboard that only goes to port in reverse, so I had to come in faster than most and gasser in reverse at of course the perfect time as they all jumped out of their chairs on the dock then casually grab my lines. So much fun, the girls would try to be the first one in every spring and the water was usually around 56 degrees 😅
I love this! Once you get to know your boat it’s a whole different experience. With all our boat issues we had to do similar, coming in on one engine with a strong current etc. thanks for sharing💗
Yeah, that filter might need a change lol. Wow, so tight under the bridge! And a swamped dinghy ride, looks close to sinking. But all ends well. Glad that bird was okay.
@SailingBananaPancakes I have now begun watching the episodes in order. The reason or the thing that caused this was the narrative provided during one of the later episodes, where you discuss very personal aspects of family dynamics. Where y'all were as a family, and how and where this journey has taken y'all and formed a closer family bond. It really resonated with me, and I thought, "Wow, this is worth going back to the beginning to see in the proper order." I'm sure I'm not the first to give a similar response or feedback.
I’m so glad to hear this, thank you for the response. We try and keep our journey as real as possible. Let us know what you think. Sorry about the footage, a lot was taken with our phone. We didn’t know we would be making a TH-cam channel.
Oh man that's the kindest best comment ever! Thank you so much I'm so glad you like them. (Sorry the footage isn't the best, we didn't know we would be making a youtube and used our phone a lot) But I appreciate you!
@@SailingBananaPancakes you guys are all american,, what a beautiful family you have, your videos are non stop action, no filler, awesome stuff, please grab some cams and make more, and could you please arrange your episodes in order so we get them in a full playlist,, thankyou, please adopt me,,
Thank you so much for commenting this! I’m new to TH-cam and had no idea what a playlist was. I just made one and organized all the episodes in order so you can watch. Thanks for the feedback man you’re the best!
Kind of a bunch of different things. We make banana pancakes every Saturday morning, the boats old name was Sunday waffles, and we once went on a vacation and only had the jack johnson album to listen to on repeat. So Banana Pancakes just fit🤩
Surely when dingy is full of water but can get motor going then you should be able to take out 5h bung and accelerate and the water should drain but put bung back in before you stop , good job and good .uck for a great future
