    Here are the direct links to Callifolio Ocre Juane, the ink used for this review: th-cam.com/video/bje-FkwLM8A/w-d-xo.html

      This doesn’t mean I think the best complement is itself a great ink, just that it is a nice complement color.

    Hi there and happy new year 2024! 😊
    Do you know of any cartridge longer than the universal standard 38 mm long that fits this fountain pen?
    The capacity of the standard short ones (38 mm) is quite little.

    Would anybody choose the Kaweco, over the Pilot 823? I want to see, if I should save for an 823, or get a Kaweco Sport and call it a day.

      I might think that ODE here on TH-cam might... but I can see it just based on personal preferences.

    Have you flown with it? Non-ferrous metals except for nib probably not setting off metal detectors, right? Brass too bullet looking for TSA (I’d hate to have it confiscated.)? Enjoyed your video. Thanks.

    Here's a tip from someone who has lost a number of pocket pens (Space pens etc) which tend to fall out of your pocket at odd times unnoticed.
    Anyhow, if you buy the Kaweco sport series and and get the leather pouch and clip, for some reason that has never fallen out of my pocket.

    • @AnInkGuy
      @AnInkGuy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great points! and I tried the clip on them it just wasn't for me, so I am very happy with the heavier pen to solve that problem... for me. But your suggestions are really the more practical ones and more cost effective.

    The brass ones are my favourite if you have to get the metal one, the aluminium option is something i didn't like and i prefer the plastic kawecos better than aluminium, the best for me are the brass ones for sure.

    • @AnInkGuy
      @AnInkGuy  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would say the light plastic vs. the heavier metal Kaweco Sport comes down to how people feel about the weight in the pocket... at least that has the line for me.

    the steel sport is a little lighter, but still almost too heavy for me. the aluminum is a little on the light side but almost perfect. steel for carrying in your jeans pocket. aluminum in the shirt pocket

    • @AnInkGuy
      @AnInkGuy  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah, I would expect a big weight difference. I chose the Brass because I wanted the weight. The sport classic is so light I was losing them in my pocket. then putting them through the wash.

    • @TheCreedBratton
      @TheCreedBratton 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@AnInkGuy I also prefer the weight of the clip on the aluminum, but steel I use no clip since it keeps the weight down and it makes a good pocket pen. I have been toying with the idea of putting a small piece of carbide or rolling up some shim stock and putting it in the plastic one to make it heavier

    • @AnInkGuy
      @AnInkGuy  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheCreedBratton that would be an excellent fix to how light the pen is in the pocket.

    Have always wanted a brass Sport. But I’m cheap and already have about 20 FPS that I keep in an inked rotation of 10 at a time. I use them for everything from grocery lists to home improvement projects to lecture prep. Maybe I’ll add a brass Sport. Hmm to clip or not to clip. That is the question!!! Thoughts on the clip?

    • @AnInkGuy
      @AnInkGuy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a couple of clips for the Sport but I don't use them... I just don't find a need for them as I tend to put the pen in my pocket, but if you prefer to clip it to your pants pocket then it might be good. Really is about how you prefer to carry this pen, no clip for me though.

      While I can put it on my buy list for sometime in the future, it is beyond likely that I would get to it anytime soon. I do only one ink purchase a year, usually in November or December, and I won't be doing my next purchase for many months...

    Thank you for this interesting review! I made the switch to the Kaweco Sport converters last year, and I think they work well. I have the Kaweco Steel Sport which sounds similar to the Brass Sport in many ways. It's so hefty I feel like all I have to do is wiggle it around a little and it writes by itself. It's my favorite go-to pen for making notes. Thanks again.

    • @AnInkGuy
      @AnInkGuy  ปีที่แล้ว

      the only difference is the materials, which of course will effect the weight. I like the heavier weight for this pen, but not normally for my pens. In general I like lighter pens. The weight of the pen definitely help to have it write under its own weight.

  • @joeynuggetz
    @joeynuggetz ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I always prefer the converter as I like to saturate my feeds and I cant be bothered trying to squeeze a cartridge. I like my brass sport. Cap is heavy enough to just spin on and off.

    • @AnInkGuy
      @AnInkGuy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use both the converter and cartridges in my Kaweco Sport pens... but the plunger converter is really good and it is a shame people bash it for holding only a little ink... just fill it more. lol
      The Kaweco converter is awesome!

    Hi there! On the size comparison, you list the Pen #1 as a Pelikan M800, sorry if its just my ignorance, but the blind cap and the clip are way too different from the ones I'm used to seeing. Is it a vintage/older model? I'm just curious! Cheers and congrats on the nice vid!

    Excellent review, Adam. I bought this pen a few months ago with a nib and carry it daily. It writes beautifully with Diamine Ancient Copper cartridges. On a side note, for some unknown reason I was inspired to read the entire video description. 😅

    Commenting late, but thank you for this review, it is the answer I was looking for!
    I like the design of the kaweco sport but the plastic one is too light for me. I was on the fence for the brass version (and I like the effect of the patina) and you convinced me. I just found a used one for 66€ (around 72$) and I jumped on it. If the nib is problematic, I can replace it with one of my Kaweco sport "plastic" which writes very well.
    Once again very good review, efficient and realistic, thanks for your explanations! 👍🙂

    • @AnInkGuy
      @AnInkGuy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First, it is never to late to comment I still answer comments that come up on my videos from year one on TH-cam.
      Yup, you have the same problem I had, the brass one really solves this problem... but now you might have to decide between this or the bronze, that is if you like bronze, if not then the choice is easy.
      Glad you have a plan for if there is any issue with the nib, it can happen. I hope you enjoy it!

    • @nicco.2a
      @nicco.2a ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AnInkGuy thank you for taking the time to answer! Indeed the bronze is a little bit more beautiful and it interested, me but the price is not reasonable in my opinion (for me anyway), around 175$ where I live, which represent 100$ more than what I paid for the brass.
      I was mainly looking for a sturdy pocket fountain pen. Up to now my favorite is the pilot E95s but I don't want to crack or scratch it too much, I also like very much my OPUS 88 Fantasia, but for a quick access, the Kaweco doesn't need to screw the cap on the back, so it is a little bit more convenient... But a huge point, the Brass sport seems to be built like a tank! so no worries 😁😁😁

      I don't think it needs a full inch, maybe just enough in the body to accommodate an international converter. Then this would be a perfect pen. So I completely agree with is needing to be just a bit longer.

    These are great pens. Sometimes, Kaweco Sports' nibs require a little pen tuning to get them wet and/or smooth enough to be satisfactory but usually they're very good. Overall, they're fine pens! Thanks for the excellent video!

    • @AnInkGuy
      @AnInkGuy  ปีที่แล้ว

      They can take a little bit of work sometimes to get them to write perfectly... but I have only heard of that being from their broad nibs, I haven't heard of issues with the fine or medium nib.

      @jlaurson ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AnInkGuy Now they offer "Premium" Steel nibs, fyi, which are fussed over as much as their gold nibs, except, well, they're still steel. To differentiate them, they have a different imprint. And they're about 20 to 25 bucks more expensive.
