It’s funny how trends work. I remember owning a pair of Mary Jane flats 10 years ago when I was in my late 20s . I loved them but stopped wearing them because was told on numerous occasions that they looked like school shoes. Now this style is “in” and people in their late 20’s are wearing them. Guess I was ahead of the times😂
So lovely that you invited Linda to”star” with you today. I love Linda’s humour and she is so natural. I like to see others in the Mary Jane shoes and like them but that strap does nothing for my sturdy ankles! Love wedge heeled mules in the summer for holidays so long as I am not walking far. These days I consider all heels to be “car to bar”! Strappy heels - well, still own a few pairs but really too high for me now but I loved them. Not comfy but pride sometimes must abide. Now as for the modern cage sandals or Roman sandals….what the heck! Look like my father in law used to wear and, yes, he wore socks as well😂. However Isee lots of youngsters wearing them but with summer dresses. No no! However I am the generation who wore Scholl wooden mules so I shouldn’t criticise! Xx Liz
Morning Karen,i us thooth past on my trainers it brings them up white also tack little scuffs of them i use an old tooth brush i use to put them in the washer but now i scrub them in tooth past then rub it off ❤😊x
Hello Karen 😃 I'm not a Mary Jane or caged sandal fan either they wouldn't be for me (although i do occasionally wear empress shoes that are very similar for comfort 😃) I wear similar sandals to the sliders. Love the pink and silver sparkly sliders you showed and the knotted sandals look great too! I cant wear flip flops either, I always find them so painful to wear between the big toe 🫤 You have some lovely summer essentials love your bags and jewellery especially the shell necklace and little silver earrings you showed. I have a few shell necklaces and layered necklaces that I recently bought from Temu that I've yet to wear 😀 Lovely video, really enjoyed watching xxx 💗
Morning Karen. Love all your sandals especially the pavers ones. Got to put comfort before fashion. I don't tend to wear flip flops anymore, preferring mules as we used to call them lol. I tend to stick to the same handbags. I don't have a big jewellery collection. Years ago, we tended to have jewellery to match every outfit. I wear sentimental jewellery xx
Hi Karen. I just love the t shirt you have on. Gorgeous. Thank you for the collaboration that you have. I do follow fashion to a point but not everything. I normally go for comfort on my feet as they are the first point of comfort. I tried a pair of M& S wide fitting shoes and they fit. Have gone down from a size 7;to a size 6 /6.5 so it’s a good sign.i tend to wear trainers or flat shoes as i have athritis in my spine so cannot wear heels either. So wear shoes now that fit and are comfy. Clothes I wear that I like and are comfy. Preferably midi or maxi clothes and full length trousers but in the cropped fit as not always find the right length in conventional ones. I have no idea in Primark as I never go in there tbh.. I used to wear the flip flop type of shoes years ago but not any more as they hurt my foot. I love the last pair of trainers you got. I ordered a shell bracelet from H@M. All the best. Rhian xx
Hello Karen,,beautiful shoes,,however I can't wear strappy sandals, not enough supporter.Sliders I can't keep on my feet and shoes tongs are totally out..Your personal shoes are my style as are mary janes and sneakers..
Hi Karen hate the mary jane shoes mybe on a 10 year old😅 like the flip-flops on your holidays ❤ your trainers and you have some lovely bag's thanks for sharing 👍
I suppose you could call my Hotter velcro strap Mary Janes as those are my go to for comfort & fit nowadays ...couldn't cope with any strapy high shoes these days ..interesting to see whats in style today compared with 40 yrs ago they seem to all come back around agaim ...I wore high strappy shoes in the 70s had a beautiful pair of red suede ones ...ahh brings back the memories 😊 ..I also really like the top you are wearing Karen where is it from please ..x nice vlog enjoyed it very much xx
Hi Karen, what a great video. It must have taken ages to put it altogether with clips at the side and all the styles from Primark and M&S. It is always interesting to see what is available but I only wear one type of shoes and they are flat ballerinas from M&S. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever found. Could I make a suggestion for a future Sunday Sunshine video. A no spend week. Probably all your followers are like me and buy things we don’t really need. It would not include direct debits or household bills. Just a thought. Thank you
Good morning, I love watching your channel, you inspired me to start my own! Thought it may help me with my confidence in myself and give me something to focus on now my kids have all left home! I live in the North East, too! I used to watch all your eBay videos :). Love Mary Jane shoes; I agree with you about mules, I'm clumsy; when I wore a pair once, I was getting on the train, and one fell down the gap! x
I like the gold and silver sliders look nice (primark) I don’t like strapped sandal no.. (m and s) I can’t wear heels for working in a shop for 34 years and I also don’t like toe flip flop I don’t like the feel either and they hurt after a 10 minutes 😀👍❤️
Those caged ones are also known as Gladiators sandals Sliders are flat! I like your cotton traders sandals. Have you tried putting the trainers into a mesh laundry bag & putting them in the washing machine to get rid of scuffs. Or the old fashioned way of plimsol whitener & a spong applicator!!!
Morning Karen, Mary Jane shoes.. well in 1970 when I got married I wore a white pair and loved them but I think they should stay there as some fashions that reappear are not always suited for todays fashion, obviously only my opinion. And sadly like ‘most’ of the sandals today the innersoles are just flat cardboard and plastic which do absolutely nothing for our backs or posture. My dad was a shoe repairer (old school) who worked for our local hospital repairing/altering orthopaedic shoes also and his opinion was always welcome. He used to say that the Highstreet shoes are not made very well but then he could rebuild a shoe from scratch he even made our shoes as children. I cant recommend anything for removing scuff marks from trainers as I don’t wear them but I’m sure somebody today will tell you hopefully. Some lovely items you have Karen thank you for sharing. 😊
Hi, I agreed that mary jane shoes are for children. Miscellar water make up remover, nail polish or a microfibre cleaning block will all remove scuff marks from trainers. Hope this helps 😊
Hi Karen Those strappy sandles looked like torture 😂 I can't wear heals now, so tend to wear trainers, sliders, Loafer type shoes. My feet do swell sometimes too, this is new for me, so thin straps are no good. Sling-backs never stay up on me. For me now it's just finding comfort at affordable prices. What did you really think of the vivaia shoes? Apart from how terribly expensive they are, are they a dream to wear for hours?
Hi Alma - the vivaia shoes are really comfy and I have worn them when out shopping, but even though they are wide fit they still feel tight when my feet swell up. Luckily that doesn't happy unless it's a hot day. I definitely recommend them.
Hi Karen 😀 I really don’t like Mary jane style shoes, they remind me of my school shoes😂 Also the cage sandals, personally….yuck 😂 Mules, I do like, but not platform, or too high ,‘ cos I have balance problems, are Lethal 😂 If a scuff hasn’t damaged the leather, I use something like pink paste, cif, or similar, just gently rub with a soft cloth !
I LOVE Mary Janes! I’m late 60’s and wear them. It’s a style I’ve loved my whole life

LoL! I wear Mary Jane's all the time! I am older than 50.
I think they just don't look right on me, maybe I just haven't found the right ones :-)
Love the Mary Jane style pavers do a lovely one in various colours and they are leather xx🎉
I like the idea of Mary Janes, they just never look right on me xx
Mary Jane style is what ballroom dancers wear. They look beautiful and graceful in them. Dancing with the Stars type of shoe.
Hi Carol - I thought they wore sandals with small heels on the dancing shows? I do like the idea of Mary Janes, they just never look right on me.

❤❤❤my fav were actually the black leather cage sandals. I don’t own a pair but would like some. Great idea comparing the two stores.❤❤❤❤
I've never actually tried them on ... they may look fab! :-) 💕
Your videos are always so interesting, and just that little bit different Karen….i really enjoyed this one xx
Thanks Lynn, that's lovely of you to say :-) xx
Morning Karen, loved the vlog I prefer your shoes rather than the other ones in the stores and lived your handbags as well.❤️❤️

Hi Rhian ... I do like the fact that M&S do half sizes, they make such a difference. A shell bracelet sounds lovely :-) xx

Hi, I agreed that mary jane shoes are for children. Miscellar water make up remover, nail polish or a microfibre cleaning block will all remove scuff marks from trainers. Hope this helps 😊
I'll give those a try Trish, thanks 👍🌼
Try white tooth paste to remove the marks on your trainers.
I'll give it a try Sandra, thanks x
