Yes, an intresting point youve made, didnt cross my mind. Actualy is every (good) gitarrist comfortable about some circle around his tone. But i guess (cause i have to Listen a lot of beginners in my shop) if they play with more gain, sounds worse. keep rockin an thanks
I agree touch is crucial. I’m constantly working on that. But what I find interesting is that some players sound better and better as they increase the gain. At least up to a certain threshold. While others as soon as they start moving away from a Fender type clean their playing degrades almost as if they’re uncomfortable. I guess everyone has a different sound in their head. Although Jimmy Page went through a phase in the 70’s where his tone was like a banjo it was so clean. Maybe there aren’t any rules?
