Okhrey is one of the fancinating Offbeat destination situated at altitude of 7600 feet West Sikkim.
Okhrey is known as the Gateway of Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary. The nearest town from okhrey is Sombaria at a distance of around 15 km. The main occupation of the people of Okhrey is farming and they mainly produce potatoes.
How to reach Okhrey:
New Jalpaiguri to Okhrey 127 km by hired car 6 hours (Rs 5500)
NJP to SNT bus stand by auto fare Rs 30 per person. Catch share Taxi from the SNT to Jorethang and onwards to Okhrey. SNT to Jorethang ( Rs 400) and Jorethang to Okhrey (Rs 250).
If traveling from Darjeeling or Gangtok, avail share Taxi to Jorethang,then onwards to Okhrey.
