Want to add indicator arrows before values in Tableau? They provide helpful context for users, especially in summary tiles!
There are a couple methods you can use to add these arrows, but one of the simplest is by editing your custom number formatting! You can add arrows (or any symbol) before or after your values by including simple icons in the number format of your field.

This is fantastic and will allow us to delete many calculated fields! Are you able to provide the up and down filled arrows in GREEN and RED? I've been searching to replace the black arrows but am unable to find ones that work. If not, do you know of a way to force the arrows to display in color? Thank you!

I’m still looking for a solution. Any suggestions?

Hi! Sorry, I'm not sure how I missed this comment. I think a simple boolean T/F calc on color should do the trick.
      e.g. SUM([Profit]) > 0
If you put that on text color in the summary tile, the color of the arrow and text will change at the same time. If you want just the arrow color to change, it might be more complex.

Sorry, for the customisation. The negative value after semicolon, shouldn’t it have a minus sign in there?

You can if you like! It feels redundant to me with the down arrow already effectively taking the place of the negative, but I imagine some users would want the minus sign too.

Excellent video!! Hi, is it possible to do MTD with a metric that is already aggregated?

@@onenumbertableau thanks you for your response. No I'm requesting about column name localisation. Example: by changing the drop down list value from English to German my report column names should change to German language

@@logurully13 I don't think what you are suggesting is possible, at least not the way you've described it. The best thing I could think of is to have two different data sources in different languages and swap between worksheets with the same structure (in different languages) using Dynamic Zone Visibility: onenumber.biz/blog-1/2022/3/29/tableau-dynamic-zone-visibility
