The Baron 58P, part of Beechcraft's renowned Baron series, is a twin-engine piston aircraft designed for high-performance and pressurized cabin comfort. Introduced in 1976, it offers a balance of speed, range, and luxury, making it a favorite for private owners and corporate use. The pressurized cabin allows for high-altitude operations, providing comfort and versatility for both short and medium-range missions.
The Baron 58P is powered by two Continental TSIO-520-WB engines, each producing 325 horsepower. This configuration enables the aircraft to reach a maximum cruise speed of 260 knots (245 mph) and a range of approximately 1,480 nautical miles with standard fuel tanks. With a maximum service ceiling of 25,000 feet, the pressurization system ensures a comfortable cabin environment even during high-altitude flights.
The cabin of the Baron 58P is designed to accommodate up to six passengers in a luxurious, pressurized environment. The spacious interior features high-quality materials, adjustable seating, and large windows for natural light and scenic views. An accessible baggage compartment and optional configurations make it suitable for both personal and business travel needs.
In the cockpit, the avionics suite varies depending on retrofits, but modernized Baron 58Ps often include Garmin G1000 or G600 systems with integrated autopilot, synthetic vision, and ADS-B capabilities. These upgrades enhance safety, navigation, and situational awareness, making it a reliable and pilot-friendly aircraft.
That’s a nice Barron! I would spend the 60k to upgrade the avionics and switch out the incandescent for led to lower the load on the generator’s and last thing is updating the rubber and one mag on each engine to electronic under the cowling.
What is usual prices of these?
One this clean probably in the $500k+ range
"Fast twin piston"...?! What about the Aerostar 700p?
I see this airplane is for sale on Controller for $1,295,000

It's pretty much the same cabin as a Bonanza afaik, just two engines and somehow manages double the fuel burn with nothing to show for it. Very impressive. As are the annuals :)
Big windows for pressurization, I'm guessing it's pretty mild pressurization. Also non circular cabin cross section for pressurized planes is wildin. Then it's not just tension forces like a balloon, the structure has to hold the bending forces to keep it from going balloon shaped. A pressurized box has to be vastly stronger than a cylinder. It is quite doable but it's a different engineering challenge. Even a Gulfstream or Challenger doesn't dare that. A more reclined seating position makes circular work.
Pro tip, never get involved with a post WW2 piston twin. It's a very complex constellation of metal fatigue made of cake metal. If it has to be a piston twin maybe an older Diamond
Yea my friend budgets 20-25k each year for annuals on 421c
@@Caliboy90045 that's just nice. That's like crashing your base Tesla into a wall every year. That's why I have a slight aversion to old GA engineering.
If we can make composite birds that require no maintenance...
@@DanFrederiksenIf you can only afford a Tesla you can’t afford this bird.
@@classicraceruk1337 You took gold at the olympics of missing the point, didn't you? I can tell
@ Seems you like talking nonsense. Try make a comment that actually has some meaning to what I said. It’s quite simple, but maybe beyond you.
nah homie cleanest one is trumps son....
