    Welcome to a new episode :)
    I call this a bikini throughout the whole episode but it is a two-piece swimsuit, technically ;)
    If you know where this pattern comes from, I'd love to know :)
    I hope I won't complain as much and get so confused on my next video haha

    Oh, I knitted this very bikini this summer too! But in red and blue as the instruction suggests (it looks great in red and beige too!), and the stripes do swap in mine. It took me about a month because knitting was easy, but then came the sewing up part... which always makes my brain switch off :D I will also make the coat, but a bit later& Maybe for the next bathing season :D

      wow really?! I'd LOVE to see it! And I'm very curious how you figured out the straps at the back.... I wouldn't mind trying again but not until I actually understand what it's asking from me haha

    The bikini is so cool! I have been determined to knit a swimsuit for a couple of years now, despite being warned against it by some older women who can remember original knitted swimwear 😂 Luckily, I am stubborn enough to do it anyway. I was thinking it might be quite nice for wild swimming? I actually have that exact pattern that you showed a picture of: the blue and white, striped halter swimsuit. I have some sock yarn that I'm hoping will work well🤞

      Thank you! Oh it's good to be in like minded company 😉 I was also told not to but I ignore anyone who tells me such things haha
      Oh the halter neck looks so good... I'm almost tempted to start it soon so I can take it to Sweden but I have to remember that I don't need to buy more yarn and it can wait. I'll live vicariously through you for now 😉
      Please show me whenever you do cast on 👙

    Hey Miss Emily, Im finally catching up on your videos and what a pleasure it is. I love your bikini and thought it looked bloody brilliant on the beach, you little floosy, you looked amazing. I was so glad you remebered they would make amazing superman undies in winter too, I really, really want to hear how you fair with them.
    Cheers

      Hey thank you :) I hope by next year I will have forgotten the rage and disappointment of the top half and feel totally fine ripping it out and redoing it. But for now, the bottoms are a definite success :) I don't want the winter yet, but I feel more prepared for it and am excited to see how they fair :) I'll certainly let you know :)

    Very brave project, and the FO turned out fab 👍 You can't tell all the drama by the FO.
    I was wondering about your decreases, they looked jagged on the sides. Is that because you were not doing them fully fashioned like you described later?
    I was recently trying to figure out how to do k2tog and ssk on the purl side since I was knitting some double sided lace. Decreases on the reverse side seems like something that needs to be unlearned and relearned for knitting machine.

    • @emilykatemadethis
      @emilykatemadethis  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I can't remember which one is the fully fashioned... I watched a couple of youtubes on decreases and just went with that one. I can't believe I made the whole thing and only realised afterwards I'd been casting them all off instead of decreasing lol woops!!
      Yeah... I am really struggling with the fact that you only ever work from the purl side. Reversing everything in a pattern is still hard for me to grasp, but I do hope it becomes more natural in time. You'll have to let me know how you get on :)

      @@emilykatemadethis fully fashioned is when the increases and decreases are done with increase and decrease stitches. Not fully fashioned is adding and subtracting stitches on the sides. My knitting machine manual says to get used to the adding and subtracting stitches method first but I'm keen to try shaping asap because I don't like the idea of hand seaming with the jagged edges.

      @petramanos oh yeah... That rings a bell. I do both of those things depending on what I'm doing and where I am in the pattern. The fully fashioned decrease is what I will do when I want to decrease from now int..the other one is more tight and bind off-like for me.

    You sure have stick-to-itive-ness (no idea how to spell that!) But it turned out amazing! Very cute.

      @emilykatemadethis  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hahahah does sticktoitivneness have a correct spelling? 😆 I agree... It was well used for this project haha 😂
      Thank you 😊 despite the rage and I am pleased with it 😄
