I can’t believe how straight the edges were with scissors. You get an ayurvedic massage too! The interpreter was hilarious! I don’t think he understood English very well but can’t fault him for trying.

That massage at the end reminded me of the Indian barber I went to a couple of times while in Iraq in 2004. It was relaxing w the ear pops & neck pops. I'd definitely recommend.
Btw, I know you said no straight razor, but those are nice feeling, and a lost art. It can be scary if you aren't used to it. Clint Eastwood portrayed old school barbers in some of his movies.

@@fofofofo3076 Barber shop probably around $30 with tip but if you want to go to a good hairstylists, it could be over a $100.

You can get a decent haircut in the UK for around £15

Scissor only haircuts are the last real good thing about barbershops, otherwise if you could just skip the whole thing and come out the other side with the trim you would. The old scissor and hair tonic combo is what makes it worth the wait.

A haircut usually costs around 80 rupees including the massage. He charged you way too much. Be careful of these scammers.
He is not a scammer and I have lived in India for a long time and know how to spot a scam. I gave him more money than he wanted. A tip for a good friend.
