Great video as always! Thank you again for carrying our meals in your pack. You guys were the first ones to try out our Venison Hunters Pie. Guess it’s officially trail tested and Spiguyver/ Rainman approved. Thank you guys looking forward to more of your adventures🙌🏻
I've never been out there, but my father used to go a lot. Maybe some day I'll get out there. That cabin looked cool. That venison sounds great for the trail.
I have been fortunate enough to paddle that river in the mid 70's and again in about 2014. Loved it. Great trip for a family. Regarding Venison, it is all about aging it properly. You should try non aged beef, you would find it isnt familiar or good either imo.
@@SpiguyverBackpacking1 You wont regret it. Easy paddling, cool refreshing water and great scenery. Btw have you ever been to the Cossatot River area? Another gem.
Need to check this place out. Reminds me of ERL but with bigger caves and that waterfall WOW! Awesome video as usual sir. Love the new merch and logo too!
Glad to see you finally got out there! I was a little down river from where you were a few days ago - love the colors of the green water and deep blue still winter skies this time of year.
That spot were the trees are across the goat trail is were I lost a water bottle and camera I haven't been on the east coast but that western Arkansas is a close second to Colorado in beauty to me and the people are way nicer than in Colorado that has to be one of your only filmed Arkansas trips were the weather cooperated...lol..
@@SpiguyverBackpacking1 Thanks for the response. A buddy & I who hike/camp together hiked the Elk River Trail based on your video & we had a blast. We've always talked about hiking or kayaking the Buffalo River area. Your videos definitely help to give some insight on what the terrain, environment, & views are like. I always enjoy your content! I think I see a Buffalo River trip in my future.
So what trails did you do on this trip? Ive been trying to plan a trip in this area myself and was wondering exactly what trails these were and what total mileage was
@@remcca01 I did the pole mod on my own, you will need to make sure yours is ordered with the pullouts. Then you can attache pieces from a few different companies to do the pole mod, or you can make one completely yourself.
Nice trip and thanks for bringing us along. So I have a Ridge Runner and for some reason I never get real comfortable in it. I sleep way better in my Chameleon. Have you tried the Ridge Runner? If so what makes the Banyon more comfortable? I really want to Ridge Runner to work for me and I love the pockets on the sides which I know the Banyon does not have.
I liked the Ridge Runner, but not enough to consider it as my backpacking hammock. As soon as I laid in the Banyan, I loved it. Not sure the difference, but for me there was one.

Awesome trip! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching, it was a great one!

The whole thing was really cool. One of the most scenic trips I've done in this area of the country by a long margin!
Thanks for coming to Newton County. It's beautiful here.
It really is!
Great job with your video! What a beautiful area 👍
Thank you very much!

We were thinking about doing just that, looks like a great river to float for a few days!

Beautiful area!!
It really is!
We paddle the Buffalo, I just ordered a hammock and love seeing this and learning from your experience.
Any time! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Good to see you out sir!!
Man, one of my favorite trips we have done, and a great video as always sir!
Dude, that was one of the best trips ever, the weather, the scenery, all of it man. Gonna be tough to top it anytime soon.
Just did the same route this weekend. Camped along Sneeds.
We camped along Sneeds as well, just before it heads uphill again away from the creek. We did go about 1/4 mile off trail to get to that camp though.
Glad to see you finally got out there! I was a little down river from where you were a few days ago - love the colors of the green water and deep blue still winter skies this time of year.
It was amazing! Glad you were able to get out and enjoy it some!
Good job
Thanks, I appreciate it.
Woot woot !
Great to see the Banyan in action !
Yeah, it's been a while since I had it out.

I meant to ask. You're pretty broad in the shoulders like me. Do you find you shoulder squeeze in the Banyan ?
I get a little more jealous everytime I see that lid on your cookpot...
Those cabins would make nice shelters if they restored them.
Yeah, agree.
Nice 👍
Thanks!

It was a PERFECT weekend, on one of the better trips!
I mean, tequila goes with anything, right? Love venison, I bet that stew was amazing! Looks like a beautiful place to hike. - Brandy D
Almost anything, a few of the drink mix flavors did not mix well with it at all. The stew was great, and that area was incredible!
Great video! Roughly, how many miles was this hike?
This one wasn't a super long one, I think it was about 20 miles or so. Thanks!

I'll have to go back and look.

What tarp are you using with your bridge hammock? I’ve been selling one with that mod.
I am using the Hammock Gear DCF Winter Palace.
@@SpiguyverBackpacking1 do I need to specifically ask for the pole mod. Also is it 12 or 13 feet?

I don't drink but shoot this makes me jealous. Kool-Aid and tequila lol
LOL, I love it!
Let’s go 3rd stimulus....I need a Banyan!! Do you think a 12’ HG DCF hex tarp will be ok with the Banyan?
But what if all this "stimulus" and giving millions away to other corrupt nations causes massive inflation?
Yes, this was an 11', I think the 12 would be perfect!

Who eats cooked carrots?! They taste much better raw anyway.
Right!
