Love the electric fence. Next time I go camping, I'm taking one.
I’ve seen videos of grizzly bears with electric fences, and they claim the bear’s nose can sense the electric current before they touch it. Do you think that also applies to polar bears?
Not really much of an experiment. If you had some frying bacon or a roasting chicken on a rotisserie as bait, then you might get a totally different outcome. It comes down to supply (i.e., bait) and demand (hunger).

“Then in a rush the bear retreats to the sea”
Polar bear: shoot, why am I playing around, I’m late for work.
What happens when the battery runs down and the fence is no longer electrified? Or what happens if a bear comes by when the fence is being taken down when leaving the area?
BIG rifle
The battery is charged by solar power. For use during extended periods of mist or rain a spare battery is at hand.
Polar bears would normally not come close when spotting humans. If they do, making noise helps to scare them off.
Jouke Prop Have you ever had any close encounters?
Some of the polar bears in this video were uncomfortably close.
How far away from the shore do you need to get before you are safe from polar bears?
Do these bears ever charge at prey because I can't see that fence helping me sleep easily at night it doesn't seem a lot of protection
4:18 Polar Bear: What in the god damn kentucky fried fuck is this sorcery????
So with a high population of polars and eggs laid in the open how on earth did those birds survive long enough to populate especially since the bears are well fed on eggs
Love the electric fence. Next time I go camping, I'm taking one.
Polar bears look extra cute
Me trying to find an ultralight option for backpacking in polar bear country.
Crazy that these are one of the few predators that will actively hunt humans as prey
I wouldn't feel safe in that camp enclosure unless there was a Tiger Tank with some shells in it...
I just watched a bear dig under an electric fence. Given experience and enough time the bear can defeat this barrier.
I don’t know that bear looked pretty interested to me 😳
Would not want that fence to fail.
We are just an easy to catch, tasty, nutritious snack to the bear.
Solar panel, batteries, what could go wrong...?
They took all the eggs! So cute
it’s so fluffy.. I’m gonna die 😵
@Jouke Prop Great suggestion for camping. Wolves and cigars will simply hop over.
I’ve seen videos of grizzly bears with electric fences, and they claim the bear’s nose can sense the electric current before they touch it. Do you think that also applies to polar bears?
A friend of mine wraps his electric fence with bacon. He says when the bears get jolted in their mouth it is much of an effective deterrent.
The bacon doesn't attract the bears with its smell? I would refrain from having any sort of food outside where bears can smell them.
Not really much of an experiment. If you had some frying bacon or a roasting chicken on a rotisserie as bait, then you might get a totally different outcome. It comes down to supply (i.e., bait) and demand (hunger).
Experiments like yours have been tried (on grizzlies), and the fences worked. But if the bear were literally starving and desperate maybe it would be a different story.
I'm Canadian , and I have got to say, polar bears are so damn strong that they could probably smash that fence to little splinters
The fence itself isn't strong, Edgett. It's the electricity.
“I’m Canadian” must automatically be a polar bear expert then 😂
Man thats 7500 volts, the shock would drop the bear izi, not kill but aware it that more 2 touchs and he will be dead
Timothy Treadwell should have invested in one.
So glad these guys respect the bears. Because truly this is there place to...nice job everyone.
My favorite animal!! 🐻❄❄
If the bear freaks out and ploughs through the fence in a scared rage then what, second inner fence?
entendible, pues el oso tiene muchos sentidos desarrollados en extremo y es de espera que sintio la tension electrica .
Love bears! Thnx so much for this vid
I like how the bear is so badass that it would just walk up to a geese's nest and eat its eggs
I'm sure those guys in the tent peed their pants a little or even shat a little
They were shaking a lot
It tumbled in such adorable way 🤭🤭🤭🤭
Bear: The food is there... just have to find a way to get to it 🤔
I love this video❤️💙❤️ Protect your self and make sure that animal doesn’t have to kill you.
Fun fact: the camera starts trembling at 2:11 because the person holding it is frightened to be on the SAME SIDE of the fence as the HUNGRY apex predator
No wind and the cameras zoomed in so it makes it shakey. Pretty sure it’s on a tripod. But this might be a joke I’m guessing
What gyro are you using for the camera -.-
