I've watched this video multiple times, you're really inspiring me to not be so insecure. I've watched customising/collecting videos for years (I collected Schleich when I was young), and have always been ashamed. The first time I watched this video, I went onto Amazon with my adult money, bought customising supplies, and have just started properly getting into it. My partner is embracing it, I'm excited to have a productive hobby that I can practise art and using my hands as you said. It is so challenging, so frustrating at times and yet so rewarding. The pic of you on your chestnut, you look so wistful. It is precious. I used to collect when I was a child. I am middle aged now and don't have any Breyer Horses, but this is so fascinating. I bought a horse who's sire was a Breyer Horse model and this seems like a fun hobby. You are very talented, and the horse you painted are lovely. Your tutorial is inspirational. Thank you for sharing your story. From someone just discovering this whole world, you should be very proud. Fallowing your passion is never a waste of time.
Just to let you know, I've learned allot from watching your video's. Don't ever stop. You can't go wrong if your doing what you love. Wish I would have started sooner in life. But I still enjoy learning and painting. I've been drawing horse's since I was 8 and this is a whole new journey for me. I completely understand where your coming from. Just cool girl! I grew up riding horses, building horse fences, cleaning horse poop, drawing horses, sculpting horses, watching my mom collect Breyer horses, my grandma collect Breyer horses, and dreaming of horses! I'm going to start re-sculpting and painting model horses too! I work as a UX designer for data analytics, so I spend all day on a computer too for work! I feel the same way and need to use my hands!! Thanks for sharing!!!
Interesting video. I think that hobbies, passions, are very cool, synergistic for many reasons, including health and welfare. My hobbies keep me going. My father was a groom and horseman at one point, he was put into a Cavalry regiment for his national service, so I like horses, most animals in fact, that comes from my dad. I don't care anymore if people say my hobby is childish. They don't understand . My husband thought its childish too but lately he is supporting me because he saw that there is a whole community , contests and expensive horses . That changed his mind. I love your tutorials, I wish there would be more nice ones with pastels because I don't have an airbrush

I started collecting with schleichs, because i only ever went to walmart and my walmart had them, and mostly they made horses, and so i had like all of the horses for a while, and then i heard about breyers and i HAD to go to tractor supply and my collection and love for horses and breyers has only grown since then.

Not being a jerk AT ALL but I thought I'd point it out because people can get their feelings hurt about stuff like that. Stick to I, ME statements in that area just to be safe. My first Breyer was bought at a gun show. It was a vintage running Colt. I thought it was a bit ugly but still loved it. At one point I had 80. I sold them off when I grew up. Here I am now collecting again. I'm currently at 15...lol
Have you ever done a Tarpon, Quagga or Przewalski's horse? Have you ever tried to recreate any of the Ice Age Horse from the walls Chauvet-Pont-d'Arc Cave from southern France? What a challenge! Leo
I only have 7 Breyers as I like horses with brushable manes and tails and 1/6 scale 😄 and I love drawing horses and I am rubbish at people probably because I don’t like drawing humans , I took 4 of my customs on a photo shoot the other day as I don’t care if other people think it’s childish or stupid
I remember those „Grand Champion horses“! I had a mare and a foal and I took them everywhere I went! I absolutely loved them! It’s really interesting to hear how you have started collecting. The funny thing is, that you and some other TH-camrs are the main reason that got me into collecting and customizing! x‘D

Hearing how you started was amazing, and I can relate to the whole “you’re only obsessed with horses!!!” bit almost WAY too much (like, it’s a hair painful, not gon lie). Idk why I thought about this, but I just need to get this out, but WHY ON EARTH DID I NOT DO AP ART!!! That literally would have been so great and it would have forced my lazy behind to actually do what I loved without worrying if other people liked it. Anyways, smol rant over, love your videos, and you’re doing such a wonderful job! Your work looks amazing, and it’s definitely worth the money!
Regardless of what other people think, if you enjoy doing something then that is all that matters, as long as no laws are broken people should do things that enrich their lives and being happy enriches lives.
Oh, sorry one more question, have you ever done any other animals like deer? If so, what would you charge for such a project. I have the extinct Ice Age Irish Elk (Megaloceros Giganteus) figure I have painted, based on Ice Age wall drawings, since there are no photos or frozen animal mummy to get an idea of what they really looked like - Leo again
I love all things horse from earliest age, all kinds models to drawing art work myself & literature like Black Beauty a fave & many others. I still love all horse models, even the least of these have a certain charm of their own a purpose to someone somewhere who longs for a horse of their own. The varieties are for different stages of our development I believe from play to serious study as an art form..as we mature so do our taste but I still appreciate the earliest play kind ..not prone to break models earliest horse fancier's to the fragile & delicate in a glass case view only sort, as the Mona Lisa picture might be to an art connoisseur. Lol Teaching us along the entire way satisfying sense of artful & imagination stirred the love of horses in every way. My current interest collecting is Mojo, schliech, CollectA & Papo very affordable realism & details very true to feature & durable my grandkids can't break to play & when I am to old to care for real horses I will return to my childhood friends to finish the course.
my girlfriend and I would take our allowances, like fifty cent and go to the five and dime. We are both almost 80, for Contac. We would spend lot of time looking at the plastic models and then paint them with airplane paint. No Breyers back then.
I got the biggest smile when you mentioned Grand Champion. I got the Feed 'n Groom set for Christmas when I was little and it was the best gift ever.

I was the same way, never played with dolls. My model horses, however, have dolls with them. I drew them alot.

My mom took me to breyerfest in 2009 and she probably felt like it was a cult. 🤣 I just really love this hobby bc its just people who love horses.
