I'm all about the added extras in the egg too!!! There's something exciting about it, even though it's actually just the same chocolate as the egg or what you would normally buy as a snack!!!!! It somehow tastes different to me, as does the Easter egg itself. Back in the day, the added extras were INSIDE the egg in a little plastic packet. Even MORE exciting!! 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤣🤣🤣

The smell of an easter egg is like one of my top 3 favorite things ever. I think maybe freshly laid tarmac, and nail varnish remover are my other two.

Some of them like the doisy and dam have paper and aluminium which is all recyclable. Those materials are better than recycled plastic. 🤷🏼♀️

Here in Italy all the Easter eggs come with a surprise inside (usually a toy/gadget). It's so weird to me to see an empty chocolate egg (each country has its own tradition). But they look delicious!
They used to have the chocolate or added extra bits inside. Don't know why it changed. We have the Kinder eggs with the toy inside.
Mmm interesting you say that. We do have 'kinder surprise' a small egg that's sold all year round and it comes with a little toy. Back when I was young the toys had to be made so I'd follow a small (very simple) manual. But nowadays they come with a premade toy. However the Italian version sounds more fun. 😜

@@stupidintellect2474 I remember the Kinder eggs when they came with a manual to follow to make the toy. I think 'health and safety' rules put a stop to that because of small parts being swallowed

I recently discovered that my stomach is sensitive to lactose, so I've only recently started testing out milk alternatives... but to be honest I never really cared for Chocolate, I'll have only little bits every once in a while, and in small quantities I have no troubles... so I haven't tried any of them... I did still watch through the video.. not for the chocolate, but for you.. I enjoy watching you :)

I’m probably in your older age bracket but I do look forward to your vids every day. I’m still working but look forward to having your vids to come home to every day. I’m dairy free with most things other than chocolate. I’m borderline so I take my chances :)

I wish we had this many options in the US. 😭 I had to drive across town and pay 5x as much for my daughter's dairy-free chocolate for Easter. We're actually allergic to dairy so it's not just about ethical considerations we really can't eat it. (I am vegan and she is vegetarian as well, but we couldn't go back to dairy even if we wanted to.)
It is only recently that they have taken off here. Especially this year. It used to be a real struggle here too. Also as you say, way overpriced!!
@@harmonyhope1709 so many people have issues with dairy you'd think that they would have more options, but I have found it in the weirdest places. Dairy is also extremely expensive to make so I don't understand why it's so darn expensive to get stuff made with plant milk.
R N I’ve seen families on youtube that are vegan making their own easter eggs (no tutorial or anything tho so can’t link that) but I’m sure that means you should be able to find a recipe or tutorial online to make easter eggs without dairy. Maybe you could give that a try😊
@@_wish_it_believe_it_ I have tried dark chocolate, but the vegan milk chocolate never seems to set right. I am going to try non-dairy cream and lecithin when the current situation blows over. Hopefully by next Easter I will be able to nail it. I know it's not the most important thing happening at the moment, but it's annoying me to no end.
R N oh that’s sad that the milk chocolate never turns out😕 I hope you can nail it by next year, it must be really frustrating to have an allergy that effects simple things like chocolate. The (Australian) family that I follow on TH-cam makes it every year, they’re called Life With Beans. It’s the husband that makes it, maybe you could try sending him a dm on Instagram (@rohanandbeans) maybe he could give you his recipe or some advice

what does vegan honeycomb mean? sorry just wondering? i just dont understand how a honeycomb can be produced without bees…or does honeycomb mean something else in the uk? or does it mean that it was somehow ethically sourced? sorry again I’m just intrigued and google doesn’t seem to know what I’m asking so I’m reaching out to yall!

Honeycomb in this instance refers to a sweet also called "cinder toffee". It is a type of toffee that uses bicarb to froth it up making it look like a honeycomb inside :)
