Imagine a hellbrute that contracted the obliterater virus AND is perfectly lucid.
That obli-brute could be a terrifying chaos champion, or Abbadon's personal ranged destroyer
@dwyanecelestial7354 That would be crazy! What about an iron warrior warsmith, that made a deal with Vashtorr, AND they both kept their word 🤣
@@dwyanecelestial7354 Don't go tip GW about this! Even though it would an awesome model they would probably charge like 80€-90€ for it!
I think the closest you get to that is the Iron Warriors, who have members affected by the virus, who maintain sanity and lucidity, to the point where one is a commander.
The Four: “no no, let this one keep his sanity. It’ll be funnier this way”
Meanwhile you got Custodian Dreadnoughts doing backflips on the battlefield.
BrotheR SANTODES... Convince them

There's at least a 50:50 chance that everyone and everything in Warhammer 40K is insane.
50:50 is too high, imo
I don't think the Tau are insane, more like the only sane and more reasonable faction in Warhammer 40k universe.
'our sanity is the price we pay for our survival'
War does that to you 😅
from what I've read, this estimation seems awfully optimistic
Imagine if that Tau that first examined a Dreadnought had instead inspected a Chaos Dreadnought.
The first poor sap to have witnessed that shit would've gotten ptsd and likely gone insane.
The tau get freaked out enough from servitors, I can only imagine an Earth Caste engineer losing it over looking at a daemonic dread.

wait can chaos still manufacture contemptors?
@saipranavpalla1467 I mean I suppose some dark mechanical guys might have figured it out but I'd say they're just left over from the HH or GC, even if the dark mechanical camln make them no doubt they'd still be rare as he'll due to how difficult and expensive making them would be

@@saipranavpalla1467 I'm not familiar with Achillus pattern, is that the Contempor with no arms and half the guns in the imperium on its side and back?
They're basically dreadnaughts that never get to sleep. And when he says in chains, he means they just take the sarcophagus out and chain it up somewhere, leaving the chaos marine in complete darkness alone for weeks, months or years at a time.
Probably not that bad if you're a Nurgle dreadnought. At least Nurglings visit you

imperial dreadnaughts don't suffer from claustrophobia, because their senses are merged with the dreadnaught's sensors...
its like how your brain doesn't feel stuck in your skull.
What you mean.. my brain feels stuck
@@dnegel9546I'm confused, I thought everyone brain was claustrophobic. 😅
Ok, so if a dreadnought is damaged, does it feel the injury, or just have sensors that say that a certain part is messed up?
@@justincooper5189 both, it would feel it and would see damage details on the HUD projected into his consciousness.
I dunno man, I, personally, feel pretty claustrophobic reading about dreadnoughts 😰
My homebrew primarines have some recreational activities for their redemptor dreadnoughts, like playing catch with children for example, to keep the sanity and humanity of them for more longer, making their vegetated existence more fun and less worse.

severely underrated comment right here
Thats just a tuesday for a Death Guard member 😂
and then there’s the banananaughts wielding a bigger version of a guardian spear
Emperor try to make a sane soldier challenge (level impossible)
Word Bearers had a contemptor dreadnought known as "The Warmonger" who despite being chaos corrupted and having been around since the Heresy was in fact still sane (by chaos marine standards)
Naturally, his fellow Word Bearers believed his sound mind was due to his fervent faith in chaos undivided, though we never got a solid confirmation on how he stayed sane for so long
Meditation
And then you remember an aspiring champion’s of the Word Bearers quote from Dark Crusade - SANITY IS FOR THE WEAK 😅
@@МОЩЬ32СТВОЛОВ I said by chaos space marine standards, as in you were able to talk with and make complex battle plans with The Warmonger.
However, he still would frequently believe his warband was still fighting in the Horus Heresy alongside Lorgar and Horus
Adderall
Then on tabletop they're essentially just "Hey little bros, let me show you how to REALLY appease the Dark Gods"
So, merging with the Dreadnought causes uber pain, but are there Nurgle Dreadnoughts? How do they feel if so?
Probably not particularly sane but at least no physical pain and you get Nurgling visits
between battles dreadnoughts are supposed to be kept in stasis vaults to preserve their mental health. Chaos dreadnoughts are stripped of such mercy, spending years being locked in a containment until the next battle.
They last for a long time compared to others. This may *seem* like a bonus, but it's not. Theirs is a slow, slow descent into madness, trapped in a confining, rotting box for centuries on end as their stoicism combats the claustrophobic torture.
Naum from the Lords of Silence is a paeticularly bad case of this unusual longevity, he's so messed up even veteran Death Guard feel empathy and sadness for his condition.
@ForeverEpsilon so nurgle dreadnoughts just marinate for however long and the. Come out looking completely different with like 90 new diseases
Vox in the voids latest video gives a good demonstration on the fear one of those marines would be going through lol
A fellow connoisseur I see
Which episode, I just found that channel today.
@uberwarlocker as of today the video is 2 weeks old it's called "khornes final offering" I think
In 40k, not only are there many horrific ways to die, but also a myriad of fates worse than death.
Plus chaos marines tend too enjoy killingnand when placed in a dreadnought they lose the feelingnof actually killing someone and slowly go insane also
"No. No! Not the sarcophagus... Khorne damn you, you disloyal curs, just kill me. JUST KILL ME!"
That's what they get for following chaos
Oh yeah for how bad it is I believe a World Eater? summed it up best by yelling at his allies to just kill him and not put him inside of a Dreadnought.
Chaos: still using the SINGLE dreadnought model we've had for 20+ years
Loyalist: hunny its been a week we got ANOTHER new dreadnought variant, throw it on the pile of others.
"I serve the Emperor a thousand years, I'll serve the Emperor a thousand years more"
So it’s like the robot in Robocop 2.
I always wondered what would happen if one of the primemarcs was so injured that they had to be in turned into a dreadnought what would that look like
I mean gulliboy was interred in his armour due to his injuries, though that isn't the same thing

@@horuslupercal2385 yeah, imagine the other players face when I place down a vacuum cleaner on the tabletop.
How do you think Night Lords would Dreadnoughtify one of their fallen warriors? (assuming they would skew more towards "traitor", rather than all-out corrupted by Chaos and going down the Helbrute route) 🤔
Depends on the warband. If they follow Abaddno then helbrute it is. If more traditional, then probably scavenging standard dreadnought parts from loyalists and adding some spikes, bat wings and flayed faces on it and calling it a day
They spend time in the warp so they’d look the same
Add a kill switch to cease the fallen’s life should he show signs of hellbrute transformation and/or losing the last bits of humanity
@@МОЩЬ32СТВОЛОВ dreadnoughts are way too valuable for them, no matter how degenerated it got they’d find use for it. they don’t have the industry to produce dreadnoughts
@@blakemelhuish1118 I mean, a kill switch for a pilot himself, not a machine. Something like a doze of lethal chemicals injection, an electric surge or a mechanism that strikes pilot’s both hearts or brain. Maybe just severe his connection to the dreadnought with a signal from a remote controller, thus killing him anyway, but leaving the machine idle and safe, waiting for a next pilot.
You're telling me rylanor would have remained fully aware of what he was if fulgrim successfully took him? He really did get the good ending then..

I know absolutely nothing abt 40k but the lore seems pretty neat. Imma like video understanding the algorithmic implications of my actions
Damn those bot comments are getting crazy
Fr I was like wtf is that shit
My guestion is what benefit is there to integrating someones organs into what is largely a mecha? Why not just have a pilot be able to hop in and out as if it were a vehicle?
Becoming a helbrute is a punishment to all chaos marines but Deathguard.
The Deathguard are the only faction that see it as a reward for their services than a punishment.
Only nurgle and tzeentch keep their dreadnoughts... okay at a certain level. Tzeentch honestly couldn't give a fuck about your pain but also you are dust so it doesn't matter and you won't feel much. Nurgle just numbs you completely.
So... what about Thousand Sons? Do they have Dreadnoughts? Are they big robots with dust in them?
"oh no, the chaos freaks are suffering, how tragic!"
I love the clip of one of the marines trying tk repair their dreadnought it shows that while to us this is horrific for these guys its like becoming high priest at least for that group

"Chaos is freedom"

Wait, how is being in dreadnaught claustrophobic? I mean yeah, their bodies are in a little chamber but they have their senses conected to rhe machine no? They see, hear and feel through the machine if I am not mistaken
I believe that they are only connected to their bodies during wartime.
Kaos Dreadnaught? I thought it was chaos...
And then you have grots doing a lottery about who can become a dreadnought
I would expect out of all of them the Nurgle ones would be the most “tame” as it’s not like you can feel pain any more in the first place and Nurgle does love all his kids! Lol either way god forbid you get stuck with the other 3 though
Man if being a regular dreadnaught is agony being a hell brute is like living a constant hell to the point yoh will wish your just in a regular dreadnaught
There was a chaos dreadnought in the Gaunts Ghosts novel who was left blinded after a battle but got away and continued to just hunt everything in the forest based off of sound
Next time they learn to not become traitors
So basicly instead of putting them in asylums they just become juggernauts.
he MtG card for Hellbrutes has a quoat on it of a CSM begging for death as he is being dragged off to be turned into a Hellbrute, its really chilling.
"No. NO! Not the sarcophagus..... Khorne damn you, you disloyal curs! JUST KILL ME"
A friendly bit of lore was left out. ONLY THOSE WORTHY TO CONTINUE SERVING ARE CHOSEN TO BECOME A DREADNOUGHT. Not everyone can become one. At least for the loyalist chapters.
I just laugh at you "a horrible existence" Space Marines serve until death. "Only in death does duty end" They also, in any instance I've read are not really aware of their bodies except as code for life support unless someone is trying to peel them apart to get at their physical body.
Choas marines care even less as (depending on the God they serve) most are half insane and selfish anyway. All they care about is lving for the next fight in the "Long War." Most see a Dreadnought as an upgrade becuase they can unleash more destruction and if they are blessed with a Deamon soul to meld with by the Dark Powers they are blessed by the Gods and just inflates their egos even more.
Chaos dreadnaughts are insane madmen because of what they have to endurez
While Loyalist Dreadnaughts like Bjorn the Fell-handed are just lovably grumpy grandpas revered for their wisdom.
The problem being.. is that this isn't real.
No shit it’s table topwar game / role play game
I feel like Nurgle Dreadnoughts get a pass on this one
Warhammer 40k lore has gone full kindergarten. Back in the day there were no good guys, just varying levels of evil.
Now it seems, it's white hat and black hat child level bullshit.
Becoming a dreadnaught is an honor to them
“Bad enough”? How dare you strip these Marines of the Honor and Glory of serving the Emperor. Your Heresy has been reported. Expect a visit from the Grey Knights
Why doesn't the imperium just make big humanoid mechs that can be piloted from the inside without having to be permanently fused with the machine? And then just supply them to space marines, so that they can chose if they want to pilot the the mech or wear the usual power armor, depending on the mission.
Claustraphobic existance can be peace, only void, nothing interrupts, and for space marines what can be better than unleashing all your rage boiled inside in the battle against enemies, who made them into dreadnought and enjoying their suffering, enjoying their defeat bringing wins in a holy war :) and then going back into the void into peace uninterrupted until needed again to change the tides of battle for the win for the comrades and enjoying the slaughter that he himself brings❤

Why don’t Chaos Marines attack their own units? Everything about them sounds like nothing could control them. Even these punishments only seem to make them even more impossible to control.
Night lords Dreadnougth should be fine since they are the least corrupted chaos space marines. But then again you’re a member of the Night Lords so you’re not exactly stable by default.
Dude we've got assignments related to Computer Science Engineering and guess what... we're studying History of a Fan Fiction Game
Weird....worshipping and serving demons can be unpleasant !? WHHAA....say it ain't so 😂
Ok...umm they are already chaos? What could be worst? They got bigger, stronger etc. Why not turn everyone into this and you can win any battle
Thanks to Space Marine 2 I am really getting into the lore of Warhammer 40K. Does anyone have any literature recommendations for a starter in this massive universe?
Bad? What a blessing to be able to serve the omnissiah again even after death. Physically suffering is nothing compared to the glory of defending the imperium
Like how captured space marine & their their ships from the warp have daemons causing them to slowly fuse with their space craft eventually turning into Heldrakes
Alpha legion already have a 50/50 chance of being insane. I should know, because I'm Alpharius!
Osiron dreadnoughts for the win baby. Best model to sub in place of those ugly hellbrutes.
A bit pricey though, so do keep that in mind
Never knew 40k had so many different Warhammer types i literally only ilever saw the dudes in the big blue suits with the buzz lighter design
Wouldnt nurgle chaos dreadnoughts not be affected by the corruption? Since they dont feel pain and all that, they would essencially just gain a larger body no?
basically stuffing a chaos space marine into a dreadnought is like here your punishment have fun (unless your Slannesh it would be fun)
Warhammer policys are like "are people starve and brutalized every day. By the emperor live is a curse... how can we make it worse?"
Naum is a nice dreadnought. Face open no helmut no amniotic fluid. He eats sjos crew....gets fatter and has leather skin.
There was a mab with retribution where u could play as a,dreadnought a dlc. I paid for it and was never able to pay it. Because no one was playing the dlc.
Hellbrute is the better option the way I see it the anger that comes from the pain you feel will influence your hatred and make it greater hence influencing chaos and the more chaotic you are the more powerful you will be 😈all hail the hellbrute
Dreadnoughts are badass. I wanna watch a Custodes suplex a Helbrute now.

this is the shit people miss when they say bryan was better with no webcam? i genuinely feel bad for pooberten here, having to deal with a legitimate no life and and the guy that prods them both
Almost comparable to the dwarven volunteers, who willingly let themselves be turned into a golem in Dragon Age origins.
I kinda hate that they don't make the Chaos Dreadnought anymore, because it makes no sense for the Thousand Sons to have Helbrutes
So why do the Thousand Sons have Helbrutes? Only their sorcerers have bodies that can merge with a dreadnaught's chassis?
For that "lore accurate" one. Csm's apend their time in the eye of terror so sure they are verrrry old but since time is weird in the warp/eye they dont actually have that experience
is this why the main character Titus has a chain around his right arm?
i think I read somewhere
the helbrute pilot is removed and stored when there's no battle. the empty shell is still chained up in storage as there are risks of it still running amok in storage.
No? Dreadnoughts have higher sense of everything dont they? Feeling, sight, hearing but they are still depressed or something like that
The best thing you can say is someone who disagrees with you and who’s acting weird. I’m gonna go wash my cheese cheese, I’m gonna do right now not washing my cheese.
Becoming an Imperial Dreadnaut is one of the highest honors. Becomeing a traitor Dreadnaut is one of the worst punishments.
40k: The only lore where you hope you just die at the end. There are so many things that are so much worse than death in the 40k universe.
Being a hellbrute or being that joke of wheel chair controlling two robot in rainbow six,i rather be the hellbrute since at the very least i look cool as hell while being in agony
I think this is what we where fighting in SM2 and I died of laughter watching a Vanguard use his grapel hook on one and just insta died 😂
