But what you actually mean by that is no to big business corruption. The individuals put in place to run for office to basically represent the various corrupt big business institutions which actually run America and other nations are not to blame, they're just businessmen puppets and loud attention-seeking representatives of powerful corporations and organizations from fossil fuel and arms manufacturers to pharmaceuticals and deeply entangled contractors.
To go deeper though, none of these real problems will ever truly be stopped, ever, unless the actual monetary system is radically changed...which won't happen. How do you even begin with that? Talking to people about the stark factual reality that monetary economics is the root which causes most of this profound corruption is a pointless exercise, as nobody wants to know, not even most very liberal and open-minded folk want to hear that. If you can't make money from all this stuff, then there's no impetus to be that corrupt. Just like if every child was raised and schooled with a deep understanding of life, themselves and others and how society works (before bombarding children with endless dry subjects purely designed to get them into work...) then entire generations of people would grow up passionate about changing society, passionately against corruption and wanting to dedicate their lives to a real craft, art or sciences etc rather than all their time and energy and mind going into some sleazy employment route and their whole lives and brains being turned into nothing but wanting to make money and personal security for themselves, which is the very root of all corruption. Even religions were corrupted originally because of the desire by people for power, wealth, possession and the necessary domination of society those things require.
We should not have individuals at the top, democracy should necessarily be a huge group effort with huge teams of seriously well-educated and experienced experts in their fields working as a large and constantly changing teams of representatives. There is no need for presidents, prime ministers and all that nonsense, that's trying to run democracies like a business (point in question) and is an ancient and utterly archaic hangover from dictatorships and monarchies (same thing historically) from ancient history.
It always amazes me just how rapidly we can make technological progress, yet when it comes to society, democracy and even just understanding ourselves, we're not just slow but actually don't want to progress in these areas. We may think we do, but the vast majority of human minds actively cling to thoroughly archaic, deeply conditioned ways of thinking about governance, society, ourselves and even existence.
I’m voting for Jill in South Carolina. But, let’s be real. We are fighting for 5% not a realistic victory. Even if she won and overcame the greens internal problems and the entire empire working against her, she could not do anything in office. The duopoly would destroy her.
The only solution is changing the system, not just who is the placeholder. The only historical moment to defeat (even temporarily) imperialism, finance capital, the donor class and the bourgeois state apparatus is Marxism-Leninism via building parallel power structures and taking control of the apparatus.
So pull the lever for Jill, but spend the other 3 years and 364 days of the cycle building mutual aid and helping the working class. Remember, dual power is real power in our hands.

The crazy thing about it is that we could slowly wean ourselves out of the need to the military industrial complex. The huge mistake that we’ve made over the last 60 years is that we’ve used our military. Anyone who knows anything about power knows that you respect your adversaries. You try to work with your adversaries. You outwork and outsmart your adversaries. And whatever you do, you don’t use military force unless it’s absolutely necessary and it’s hardly ever necessary. Jill Stein understands this and that’s why she is presidential material.

It's a shame that the left over here does not talk about topics like Michael Hudson does. Tried talking to Li Andersson about AT LEAST fixing the Bretton Woods system's institutions according to Keynes suggestions in 1944, but she preferred to just talk about Keynesianism in the European sphere... And military Keynesianism at that. I know Hudson is a bit more... Harsher critic of Western financial system, but it's very dissappointing, even revealing that our supposed "left" doesn't have even the courage to challenge Western hegemony by even pushing social democrats favourite economists ideas to fix our neocolonial Bretton Woods institutions and USA's special priviledge.

Dr Stein is a woman; this woman could look up to. I unfortunately can't say that very often as a woman myself. I don't agree with a green energy policy at all until the current view and understanding of the same which appears to me a tool or weapon. I, however, think she is a breath of fresh air for the US.
