The baleno looks decent from front but has got killer looks from side. The i20 elite has a more sportier look & baleno is more elegant & subtle in its design. With baleno's better power to weight ratio than i20 I feel Baleno will win this battle.
This video at 2:11 says that roof spoiler is present in higher variants of Baleno. But I checked on Nexa website that thin roof (Rear Back door) spoiler is available in all variants of Baleno.
+Abhay Agarwal Its the back spoiler not roof spoiler, to be exact its the spoiler just above the tail light and below the back glass which is available in all variants(top end in chrome and others in body color)
Such well shot visuals! you absolutely should not have blundered with the 3.4 lakhs bit after all the rounds of editing and processing you would have done before uploading!
I had a small question. I am planning to purchase baleno which would be my first car. my friend owns a skoda and has a jbl bass tube installed in the boot space provided in skoda. Maruti has truly delivered where it matters the most. While looks are subjective, its noteworthy to point out that the overall styling of the car is distinctive.Coming to the comfort, with the front seats adjusted for 6-foot adults, the rear seat floor is also relatively flat, though shoulder width is typically the two-and-a-half adults. The interior of the Baleno, to sum up, is spacious and well-equipped, and even well designed. Hi, I am planning to buy a petrol hatchback and my budget is around 9 lacs. I am really confused between Baleno and i20. I really like the looks and features of baleno especially its instrument cluster, infotainment system, uv cut glassess, etc but many people sats that the build quality of baleno is not so good. While i20 also has good looks and decent features, it is wide spread that the car is under powered due to its heavy weight and fuel economy is also low. Please let me know what shall I go ahead with and how bad is the build quality of baleno. Thanks, Chirodeep Paul

stylish double sloted sliver tail lights (which we seen in promotions) also in only top alpha trim...other 3 trims have looks boring tail lights....which is not clarifies even in maruti brochure....customers thinks that only projector head lights are different but the fact is tail lights also different for lower (sigma,delta,zeta...all have same)trims....
I need a suggestion. The price difference between Zeta and Alpha trim of diesel varient being over 70K, is the projector headlamp, rearview camera and infotainment system worth the difference? How much extra would it cost if at some later date the projector headlamp and rearview cam is installed on the Zetta trim?
+Arpan Bhowmik Yes i think it is worth the difference, specially the touchscreeen is big and clarity is awesome. And you understand with the touchscreen there comes so many additional features. Also, the rearview camera adds to the price difference. And finally taxes :)
Is it true that Baleno suffers with (i)suspension (ii) safety since it is light weight (iii) corners and wobbles. And when is Baleno RS expected to arrive. Is it worthwhile to wait for Baleno RS?
the new mantra of maruti suzuki is copy n paste(swift, swift desire now baleno)....and i m pretty sure that in other parts of the world, suzuki will not launch the baleno with a 84PS petrol(~82.81 BHP) or 75PS(~73.94BHP)diesel engine...they will be much powerful and torquier...
+ABHISHEK CHHABRA If you love to drive go for Balino as elite i20 petrol engine is very sluggish. But if you are looking for class interiors and better built it has to be elite i20 although you will miss that brilliant touchscreen infotainment system.
As somebody who had the same dilemma as yours some months back, I can tell you, to go for the new Jazz, which I own. I have a Model SV, Diesel Jazz (MT) 2015 and it comes with a 1.5 litre engine, I have managed to get a shocking mileage of 34 kmpl out of it. It's just... Perfect in all aspects.
my monthly travel around 500-600 km, my choices are i 20 active, honda jazz, baleno in petrol engine, appearance wise i like jazz most but u tell me value for money practical car
It is expected to arrive soon, probably in this festive season. You can wait for it. Just so you know, it isn't an updated version, it is a different variant altogether called the Baleno RS, which would churn out better power as compared to the existing Baleno.
What about ground clearance ? does it ride well on top of indian speed breakers? What about android phones how can we pair them to the Instrumentation Cluster? Bottle holders? 1 L / 1/2 L? Rear A/C and 12V power sockets? Maruti tried all Beige in Dzire top end, now all black.. ? Waiting for Baleno Anniversary edition - wish they throw in some reds with the blacks and some nice sporty decals.. True. Leather = seats + steering cover and gear shift knob should be offered atleast in top trims. Going for a test drive during weekend. From a Dzire ZDI 75bhp to Baleno ZDI 75bhp I dont really feel there is an upgrade.. Maruti should plonk an SHVS unit in the diesel Baleno like the Ciaz. That should definitely become a USP for Delhi car owners.. and mileage should bump to whopping 30kmpl - that would dethrone all "car of the year" titled cars.
I agree with the statement that it looks like "Evolution of the Swift", looks like car companies are so confused with the indian market and people's preference. yet to see a model which is breaking any of the conventional design that India had in years.
booked the baleno yesterday...great car...looking forward to it.Sure the plastics could have been a bit better, but that didnt seem much of a problem to me.The driving experience was superb (vvt petrol) compared to the jazz and i20... almost reaches vw polo standards...but at the same time maintains the perfect balance...I liked the exteriors since we were buying for the family(but could have used the much cooler alloys wheels as sold in germany )...overall great value for money car...
+Dev Madhav S D hello, I am also thinking about purchasing 1.2 lt petrol Sigma version of Baleno. Can you tell me your version, on road price. When they have promised delivery for your car ? Good Luck , Ride safe.
+Akhil DWIVEDI the guys at nexa told me a waiting period of 1 month(which is long considering rivals). But we are buying the top spec(alpha1.2) trim....thr petrol variant. On another note i would reccommend you to look at other options instead of buying the sigma trim.If you really want to buy the diesel sigma trim instead. When i test drove the lower variants (one with 15 inch wheels and smaller tyres ;the lightweight nature of the car showed up and we bounced about a lot and the tyres did not offer much grip.(fr the petrol variant). But i heard from the friend that the diesel sigma variants did not have such a problem(probably because of the added weight of the diesel engine)....i do not know why this is so exactly. So just goes to say that if you are looking at a sigma trim go for the diesel one.......Cheers😊
+Dev Madhav S D Thanks for detailed answer, I haven't driven it yet. Just got a quick glance of basic sigma petrol variant of Baleno, to my utter shock there was nothing premium in it. All single color(only black) ugly looking dashboard , even information console is single display panel which is totally different than other higher variants. Perhaps we need to go for higher variants at least up to delta trim but is that quite above from our tight budget. So we are thinking of dropping this car instead I am looking on New Swift petrol LXI (O) and Honda Brio petrol EX MT. Can you suggest me a good car with good reliability and reasonable maintenance cost under 5.5 lac budget , intended to drive in mostly in city(Delhi NCR) and occasionally on highways. Thanks in advance , Drive Safe.
+Akhil DWIVEDI Go for the swift lxi (O) variant among these two cars, since it will offer you maruti hassle free ownership and an allround car.The interiors of the swift lxi will still leave you wanting more but its good too in a sense. It would be much bettet if you could extend your budget to accomodate the swift vxi glory edition(add on some 30000),but even that in the frame the swift lxi does make financial sense(besides the numerous aftermarket parts available at low costs throughout the country can enable you make the car more plush at lower prices). The honda brio as far as build quality and interior quality is concerned is a bettet car and city driving and handling is better than the swift, but maintenance costs are significantly higher(if you dont mind that it is a good choice)The nissan micra also is a good car and also the new ford figo but both have the same higher maintenance cost problem (but still tge ford figo is a good car, please do check it out)....My verdict go for the swift lxi for hassle free ownership and allround experience........Again there is a another viable option which people have widely misunderstood in our country-buying a second hand car.Dont get me wrong that is a really good thought, provided you follow the scrutiny and carefullness while selecting used ones.To prove my point, one of my relatives got a very good deal on swift dzire (full option vehicle -less than 9000 km -with leatherseats, wooden inserts, armrest, everthing )for just 5 lakh and the only major problem was a worn out clutch which set him back by around 20000 rs.The car is going strong with no fuss whatsoever post 1 yr of purchase. So please do check out the used cars segment. cheers and safe driving 😄
+Akhil DWIVEDI oh and one more thing...do give consideration to the tata bolt or the tata zica.If you dont mind these cars indica like looks, they are very good cars, with great interiors and good engines(the best value for money cars)...Dont get caught up in the old saying that tata cars arent reliable, service costs are down, high maintenance as tata has come a long way since then and theit engines have now proven reliable and efficient and even refined(especially the 1.2 revotron petrol)...after a bit of research i found that the only problems tata faced was in tier3 towns and cities wherein which they dont have much service penetration. In and around delhi this is not going to be much of a problem....so if you dont mind the uninspiring looks the tata cars are a very good buy 😄
I would like to mention a big point which no one has pointed out. As Baleno is light weight, everything fitted is so light. The biggest disappointment for me are the bumpers. They are so fragile, even if you press it hard then also you can see a dent. Its so light. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT.
+abhimanyu vij As far as mileage is concerned, Baleno diesel has a mileage ranging between 22.6kmpl and 27.4kmpl while Baleno petrol offers a fuel efficiency of 17.8 - 21.4kmpl. These are the claimed figures, the real mileage will vary.
I own a new Honda Jazz 2015 Model SV, Diesel, Manual Transmission. Now, here's the Baleno/Swifts Diesel - 1.2 Litre, 27 kmpl. Here's the HONDA, 1.5 litre, 34 kmpl. (my personal mileage figure that I managed to achieve very easily on my Jazz.) There ya go. The only reason the Baleno sounds a good buy would be that CarPlay system, which, is completely unnecessary when you can just mount your phone beside.
Arijeet Sarkar You have a point, I just wanted to share that *I have achieved 34 kmpl, beacuse it sounds unbelievable.* 😁 However, I still have one major point to compare the two. *Baleno, along with most of the other new cars (Creta and Elite i20) give a feeling of claustrophobia.* *The Jazz on the other hand feels more open and connected to the road with it's high visibility, big windows and the experience of sitting in a Jazz is just... Great. (lack of words here)* I understand that must make little sense, but having experienced this, I say it makes a huge difference.
+Zubin Butt Did you drive the car from top of a hill to the bottom??!! Honda claims that jazz has a mileage of 27.3 kmpl, it's not possible to get more than that in normal circumstances.
+Sandeep Ghosh The ARAI mileage is 27 kmpl but real mileage varies. One can get more than it or even less than it. Usually people get less. It all comes down to how one drives the car. Shift earlier mostly, not doing above 70 km/hr, at 6th gear would yield even better mileage than 34. I was returning from Agra to Delhi via the Yamuna E-Way, doing b/w 60-70 km/hr and occasionally 80 for a minute or two in 6th gear, that made my all around total average mileage to 34. The actual I get nowadays is 24 kmpl with AC on low and a little hard driving, higher RPMs in the Delhi traffic.
+Zubin Butt hey zubin i own a Jazz Petrol and i get around 18 at highways and sometimes 19 if controlled speeds and 14-15 in city but i feel the petrol jazz lacks the punch low end torque is poor and lazy below 2500 rpm which i dnt like :(
better then this new baleno hatchback,,maruti suzuki old baleno sedan is far better loking and better performance luxuryu premuim sedan car anytime......because its safety wise good, and performance wise also too good.hope they reagain launch the old baleno sedan car.
like always great video by zigwheels but didnt like the car i20 like design cues are seen allover the car cannot match what hyundai has done with there rockstar elitei20
I agree with Arijit....there is absolutely no similarities between I20 elite and baleno design language....elite although looks better as per me but lacks originality....while baleno side profile and rear profile is fresh and very different
i have a suzuki baleno about two months and i want say it...is a terrible car...bad suspension ..bad steering..noisy gear box..interior problems..auto brake is not working...
don't mind Zig Wheels...ur presentation was awful...it was like a visit to an old age home...Cars and bikes are much much more exciting than you think...
this can never match the segment leader the elite i20 !! Maruti should learn how to design from other competitors who give a better premium feel at a premium price range .
+pravien kumar And you know the price you pay for premiumness when you drive i20 petrol. Sluggish with no fun, poor handling, awful suspension and anything else that will make your driving enjoyable. Better keep your engine off and enjoy the premium features.
I guess you are still in mid 2012-2014's where there was a facelift in the first gen i20.I agree that car's petrol engine was undepowered and sluggish when compared to any of maruti's petrol engine. But the elite i20 is fresh with improved driving, handling and performance which are miles better than the older version and mind you the elite i20 petrol outsells the diesel(the most powerful one)whereas maruti has just transferred the 1.2L vvt engine of the swift with no power upgrade in this baleno which is supposed to need power for the premium price Tag !!!!

+pravien kumar Sorry only a few will agree with you. The figures do not support you. Elite i20 petrol has the worst Power to weight ratio among the three top premium hatchbacks. If you have bought i20 to feel its premium features then keep on wringing gear lever while driving . Good luck to you.
Shantanu Singh thank you for your wishes! let my i20 have a mismatched ratio and need wringing the gear lever often!! that ain't bothering me as this car gives such a smooth, supreme ride n comfort which no other suzuki can offer and bring the elite feel! Good luck to you too if you are buying this so called premium hatch which is just in words!
The baleno looks decent from front but has got killer looks from side. The i20 elite has a more sportier look & baleno is more elegant & subtle in its design. With baleno's better power to weight ratio than i20 I feel Baleno will win this battle.

ok. i am expected to get my car next week .. i will check this
sir,I am in confusion between Figo and Baleno (petrol)
which one would you suggest.?
running would not be much.
Such well shot visuals! you absolutely should not have blundered with the 3.4 lakhs bit after all the rounds of editing and processing you would have done before uploading!
The steering wheel of swift returns to it orginal position after a steep turning but in baleno its not happening is it a flaw or is it like that ?
Compare Baleno petrol manual with the Figo.
is the dash instrument cluster different in lower trims and higher trims??
What about the quality of the metal sheets and chassis? Is it very filmsy?
which colour looks better in baleno???pearl white or premium silver??
Ray Blue looks awesome....
+HASSAN FAINAZE I booked a dark gray alpha 1.2
i have booked delta version i want to know extra accessories tht i need to fit and also abt waiting time as new factory is open
I had a small question. I am planning to purchase baleno which would be my first car. my friend owns a skoda and has a jbl bass tube installed in the boot space provided in skoda. I wanted to install similar bass tube to have a great music experience, but without compromising on the boot space. Kindly suggest some alternative to the same experience. it would be of great help to me.
Does the car vibrates when we go beyond 120? Cuz i have heard a lot of this please tell me honestly!
as there is no rear ac vents...
how about the cooling capabilities of the Baleno..
[especially keeping in mind the hot and humid weather condition in India...]
I personally had very very bad experience with my family members literally sweating at the back seat...
so hows baleno fit in here....
Guys please tell me honestly that how the Baleno car is ? Is it right for the users? Don't misguide the peoples because spending 7-8 lakhs again n again is not an easier for a middle class family. As i have seen lots of negative comments on different - different sites, all the comments and reviews has made me totally confused to buy a Baleno. Please tell me honestly should i go for Baleno or for other cars.
i will be grateful to you.
On the handling, the chassis seems pretty capable but the steering feels a bit light in comparison. Baleno is extremely stable at triple digit speeds, it feels a lot more confident to drive.
Do take a test drive before you make a final call.
The same thinks happen to me also,, so why people are commenting to balano and is not good
+ZigWheels.... At 07:33 in video.....Hyundai rival i20 Elite's price start from 3.4 Lacs? You sure? correct it Please !!
Hi,
pls have a comparison among Baleno, Jazz and i20 petrol version.
i want a final verdict between these the baleno and i20
. Both of them at their base variants. Which one to buy? Please Reply Sir.
Good question.. i20 base variant doesn't have a ABS and hence my choice would be baleno..
I am sorry but I have changed my mind and came to a decision of buying the Hyundai Elite i20 Sportz variant
Yes..that has ABS .. so good for you

Should i go for dzire 2017 or the baleno? Please suggest..i am really confused between the two
agaranki94 baleno
How Much Mileage does it give.. In Traffic Roads and Highways???
what music is at background during first 30 sec?
Is it true that Baleno suffers with (i)suspension (ii) safety since it is light weight (iii) corners and wobbles. And when is Baleno RS expected to arrive. Is it worthwhile to wait for Baleno RS?
heard suspension is good the rest im nt aware of. And the baleno RS is going to be launched sometime in march 2017 along with swift sport i guess.
excellent product from suzuki.. and a great review.. thanks a lot.. :)
I am looking to buy a new car in the range of 6.5 to 7.8! I am considering Swift Dzire Vxi I20 Sportz and Baleno Delta. Which one should i buy?
+Parth Kanakia i20
+Parth Kanakia Honda Jazz
+Parth Kanakia I feel its better to go with baleno since it has got refreshing look with bigger boot space than dzire & dzire is now dated.
this car looks awsm
I love you
I want to purchase a cvt car which is better Baleno cvt or Honda cvt although one is hatchback & other one is Sedan but pl guide me.
Honda CVT is a better gear box as compared to Maruti CVT, it has much fast shifts and is smooth also.
true also tested Balenov cvt although price is less but honda amaze cvt is better
Which color is this... NEXA Blue or RAY Blue or URBAN Blue ???
Please tell which blue is this in the video??
Premium Urban Blue or Ray Blue??
This one is Ray Blue.
baleno alpha diesel or ford aspire titanium plus diesel which is the better option
go for the baleno alpha diesel

km rifas Howcome?
my monthly travel around 500-600 km, my choices are i 20 active, honda jazz, baleno in petrol engine, appearance wise i like jazz most but u tell me value for money practical car
Go for Baleno, it has got best in class features and it costs less. Thus, it is the most 'value for money' car in the segment.
one more question, i heard that balenno updated version is coming soon, is it true?, shall i wait?

Can someone tell me vw vento automatic is good?
It's a dsg. It is very quick to shift
thanks zigwheels for your valuable feedback
I appreciate ur service
Thank you Nilesh
can u reply to my 2 nd question
Thanks for beautiful and detailed review BUT Hyundai Elite i20 base petrol starts at 3.4 lakh? It's 5.4 Lakh !!
Where can i but the elite i20 at 3.4 L ? 😂
How is suspension at low speeds... It's hard??
The suspension works pretty well. It is nicely blended with the car.
which model of baleno is this
The top end diesel :)
Is this car comfertable for 6'3 tall people?
Yes it is , for better perspective I would suggest you to sit in the car and then you will be able to figure it out in a better way.
+ZigWheels thanks for the reply.
plz improve interior plastic quality becoz I wand to buy next year
I really liked the review until you mentioned the price for i20.
Please post the link to elite i20 @ 3.4 L ! 😂
HAHAHA 😂 i20elite segment leader costliest car in hatch back segment got i't. poor maruti poor engine 😂😂😂

In and around delhi this is not going to be much of a problem....so if you dont mind the uninspiring looks the tata cars are a very good buy 😄
what about suspension??
Average, it works well as other Maruti cars.
I would like to mention a big point which no one has pointed out. As Baleno is light weight, everything fitted is so light. The biggest disappointment for me are the bumpers. They are so fragile, even if you press it hard then also you can see a dent. Its so light. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT.
baleno vs i20 which is best car ?
BALENO
Not the best, but best car in maruti only.
Kitna deti h?
+abhimanyu vij As far as mileage is concerned, Baleno diesel has a mileage ranging between 22.6kmpl and 27.4kmpl while Baleno petrol offers a fuel efficiency of 17.8 - 21.4kmpl. These are the claimed figures, the real mileage will vary.
I own a new Honda Jazz 2015 Model SV, Diesel, Manual Transmission.
Now, here's the Baleno/Swifts Diesel - 1.2 Litre, 27 kmpl.
Here's the HONDA,
1.5 litre, 34 kmpl. (my personal mileage figure that I managed to achieve very easily on my Jazz.)
There ya go. The only reason the Baleno sounds a good buy would be that CarPlay system, which, is completely unnecessary when you can just mount your phone beside.
+Zubin Butt The quintessential buyers have changed. People don't buy cars for mileage only :)
Arijeet Sarkar You have a point, I just wanted to share that *I have achieved 34 kmpl, beacuse it sounds unbelievable.* 😁
However, I still have one major point to compare the two.
*Baleno, along with most of the other new cars (Creta and Elite i20) give a feeling of claustrophobia.*
*The Jazz on the other hand feels more open and connected to the road with it's high visibility, big windows and the experience of sitting in a Jazz is just... Great. (lack of words here)*
I understand that must make little sense, but having experienced this, I say it makes a huge difference.
+Zubin Butt hey zubin i own a Jazz Petrol and i get around 18 at highways and sometimes 19 if controlled speeds and 14-15 in city but i feel the petrol jazz lacks the punch low end torque is poor and lazy below 2500 rpm which i dnt like :(
better then this new baleno hatchback,,maruti suzuki old baleno sedan is far better loking and better performance luxuryu premuim sedan car anytime......because its safety wise good, and performance wise also too good.hope they reagain launch the old baleno sedan car.
i like the baleno car very nice looking
good but the interior plastic quality is poor very poor
like always great video by zigwheels but didnt like the car
i20 like design cues are seen allover the car
cannot match what hyundai has done with there rockstar elitei20
+Aditya Moghe Hard to find any similarities in design between i20 & baleno. Be specific
I agree with Arijit....there is absolutely no similarities between I20 elite and baleno design language....elite although looks better as per me but lacks originality....while baleno side profile and rear profile is fresh and very different
15 inch wheel is not standard in this range!
i have a suzuki baleno about two months and i want say it...is a terrible car...bad suspension ..bad steering..noisy
gear box..interior problems..auto brake is not working...
Stay awesome
like this caaar and BGM
+pradeep c (y)
nice look
I want this in colour black 😭😪😡😡😡
superb
nice luck maruti suzuki baleno car
don't mind Zig Wheels...ur presentation was awful...it was like a visit to an old age home...Cars and bikes are much much more exciting than you think...
this is ok
took baleno test drive today. bumpy ride
this can never match the segment leader the elite i20 !!

Good luck to you too if you are buying this so called premium hatch which is just in words!
we have a wagonr
Please tell which blue is this in the video??
Premium Urban Blue or Ray Blue??
