Learn to pull the hammer back silently. Pull it back a little, pull trigger while holding hammer back a little, pull hammer all the way back, let go of trigger while holding hammer all the way back, and then let the hammer down slowly, until it is on the sear. Practice this without anything in the chamber in your room, until you can do it without thinking about it, helps when deer are close, especially on quiet days.
I have the same Model Marlin in the .35 Caliber. Do not use the old core-lock ammunition. I switched to The Hornady Lever-Revolution ammunition and I went from a pie plate size group to a 3 shot group almost touching each other. I not only gained accuracy but added range. Check out the Hornady ammo.
@@guaporeturns9472 ok lmao. It’s ass ammo. I’ve seen 308 ammo in 300 win mag boxes from them too. Remington core lokt was dog shit about 8-15 years ago. Maybe it’s better now but everyone I know refuses to use it do to some sort of issue they have had
Pro tip for the thermos! You can pour your drink out of it without unscrewing the cap all the way. I do it all the time when I'm hunting and it's really convenient.
Also if you want your stuff to stay hot longer heat the thermos by pouring boiling water in it and let it sit about a minute then pour it out and put your drink in it. Works wonders. I’ve kept soups so hot they’d burn your mouth on 10 degree days out fishin.
Took me back on the hot chocolate/old coffee from the Thermos comment. Been there done that with my Model 94 30-30 back in the teenage days. Great vid!
I actually did grow up with my dad having one of those thermos's and it did have hot chocolate that tasted like black coffee at unrealistic temperatures x D
Scientists have long pondered on the concept of zero-point energy: the idea that you could make energy from absolutely nothing, without the destruction of matter or addition of energy from elsewhere. They need to look into those thermoses, because I swear you pour 80 degree coffee in them in the morning it'll be 110 degrees by morning tea.
I have a Marlin 30-30 I hunt with and it has a safety. If yours does I’d recommend loading once in the stand and putting the safety on that way you don’t have to worry about backing the hammer when trying to shoot a deer. Lower the hammer back down when you are leaving the stand. Just a suggestion to a fellow hunter!
That's why it's called hunting! 😂👌. I enjoy your videos man. I was watching your vid the other day where you and your buddy went rattlesnake hunting. The cleaning part was hilarious 😂😂. Best of luck in 2024! 🏹
Thats a very cool gun! I was hoping to see you get a deer with it! Don't worry I won't tell your dad you took it out lol! Good luck with everything my friend!
I ended up throwing a 1-4x lvpo on my Marlin 336. I hate how bulky it makes the gun but I just wasn't reliable past 50 yards with the iron sights, and it really helps identify the game at greater distances and through the brush. It's not as bulky as a 3-9x but I still wouldn't mind finding something smaller like a fixed power 2x or 3x.
When you were almost to your stand I noticed your rifle hammer was fully cocked when you were walking could have been bad climbing up your stand be careful !
I own the very same model of that Marlin 336 RC. Those are really old because mine was made around 1948 and has a 4 grove Ballard rifling. The rifle was my grandfather's then my fathers and now I own it and counting deer I killed with it stopped at 300! When I was young, we had a large family so many in the family would buy deer tags and I would shoot the deer then get on a gas station phone to a family member to get them to hurry and get here to collect your deer with the tag. Some may not like that but my family who wanted the deer meat had been on retirement pensions, so the meat was Highly needed to my elders, nothing went to waste. At now 64 years old and my father has been gone for years but we have dad's deer horns all over in the garage that Marlin 336 RC smoked those deer. My dad's friend would call that Marlin the dirty thirty it was used on so many deer!
You show great judgment in hunting, not so much for your super hot chocolate. 😉 I totally enjoy your videos. Continued good health and good luck in 2024, young man!
I've taken 3 white-tails with my old-man's marlin 30-30. Loved that gun. He sold it four years ago behind my back to cover his gambling along with several other firearms. I haven't spoken with him since i found out. My first deer was from my grand-pa's bolt action 30-30, I still have that at least.
So he sold HIS gun behind your back to cover HIS gambling debt and you haven't spoken to him since? What an @$$hole of a son you are! Grow up and be a man and buy your own damn rifle little boy🤦🏾♂️
Should we build a blind at the top for next year?

I hunt with a model 94, and I got two boxes of core lokt and out of the 40 rounds I had 14 duds and 5 hangfires.

Just got my first buck this year with a 1980 Marlin 30-30 lever action that my granddaddy brought brand new and it was a really nice 8 point
I found your Chanel and could not stop watching it I’ve watched vids from 3 years ago from you keep up the good work
Thanks so much!
it's not about getting a deer it's the time spent trying you can learn so much even if you don't get one you don't have to clean one.

Move your stand about 25 yards closer to where you saw all the deer. With open sights it can't hurt !

The presentation is just like the videos my 8 year old watches. May just send him this
That's how it was done in the old days, before scopes became commonly and cheaply available. Traditional hunting which required to get close to deer.
Every time I go to my subscriptions I look for this guy but he hasn’t uploaded in a while but u think he’s cooking up some bangers
i found you a couple hours ago I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL ive been watching nonstop.
Yay! Thank you!
oh hi most youtubers like you dont reply much i appreciate that you read my comment have a good day@@RipnStikOutdoors
Try 150s instead of the 170s. You'll see them drop.

2:21 - you wandering through the woods with the hammer back?
During the off season get a scope on that 30-30 that way you can see your shots better and reach out more
The DUKE would be proud of your shootin
Growing up in the 50s everyone hunted with a 30-30.
THE final B O S S music

I noticed that to. It is the equivalent to walking around with your safety off. Very unsafe!
An electric bike for 10 acres. 😅

If you would use Scentlok those deer wouldn't be running away from you.
Is this PA or NY?
