The fact that I named my first Jack Russell Terrier "Nelson Eddy" may be seen as an indication of my enthusiasm for the magnificent baritone. Noel Coward's score for _Bittersweet_ is extremely lovely, and both Nelson and Jeanette make a very memorable and affecting job of their renditions of the songs. This one and "Zigeuner," which Ms MacDonald sang, are my favourites.

In the first season, The Railroad Hour performed Bitter Sweet. This song was sung by Jeanette MacDonald and Gordon Macrae. The entire production is worth a listen.

Masterwork Columbia's, despite how we often pass them up, usually prove their worth quite easily, like in this case.

Jeanette McDonald's husband was disrespecting her, Nelson Eddy found out and kicked his ass. You can look it up.
