BMW congratulations, you finally fixed the 1 series design, the last iteration was a design atrocity, a disproportional weird looking thing. Now you are going back to Chris Bangle lines who was your best designer ever and gave you the design language that honestly you can never brake from because that will depart you from what BMW is and your identity. That's how visionary Chris Bangle was, a true master of automotive design.

I am a 116i owner and I love the car's agile attitude in crowded cities with narrow roads. However, from the looks, the car seems like smaller than the previous one both outside and inside. I hope this is an illusion effect as this was a major obstacle from the beginning of production of this series. Additionally, it is not logical to decrease the hp of 1.6 petrol engine but still keeping the turbo inside. This will have great impact on the car with this weight...
If you wasn't listening, that 116i is the 1.5 three cylinder...it's very long time ago when that numbers had anything to with real size of the engines...now that numbers are only the marketing
This...side by side comparison is barely fair for the old model....why? Well pay attention to both cars at 0:58.... The new one is equipped with XENON headlamps.....while the same time the old one (f20) with halogen lamps!!!!!....quite an unfair comparison don't you think??? Other than that I think that the new version is not THAT different to the old one.... they just did a mild facelift..... I'm also a bit confused about the elongated tail lamps.... to me they don't seem right for a hatchback.....
The point here is that xenon is now in the very base model of the new facelift. Now you don't even have the option of getting halogen. So this comparison is basis lighting old model vs basis lighting facelift.

I currently own a 2014 118i urban line in black sapphire, with bmw black wheels and bmw logo saint gobain sekurit dark tinted glasses in a green/brown shade that looks like the classic ray ban aviators, the most beautiful 1 series you will ever see. Facelift you cant sit with me.

The big hanging eyes are history now, now it looks sharper and more sporty and fits much better to the other BMW models. The same at the back. Before it looked a bit like a VW Polo and now it's got the typical L-formed backlights, which are a integrated into the trunk door, which looks great in my opinion. So, BMW: well done! The car looks 1.000 times better than before and still everyone will see that this is a 1 series at the first view. Great!
Is this version impacted by timing chain failure? Like mine.... N47? What will BMW do for this hidden vice which in european right is manufacturer fault?
The previous 1 series was ugly.The headlamps were out of proportion. I don't usually use the word ugly to describe a car. This one is a BOMB. Love the iconic angel eyes, well proportioned. Love the tail lamps, love the fluidic lines on the hood. Superb.

What is the function of the other reflector in the headlight? 1:04 I noticed that low beam and high beam are in the same LED projector.
