    Will this configuration works for Modern search or only for classic search?

    • @stevecorey365
      @stevecorey365  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's the configuration for SP Search in general. It applies to both classic and modern experience. It also applies to SharePoint on-prem!

    Great video!!!!Why can't I edit crawled properties even though I have full control in SharePoint site?

    • @stevecorey365
      @stevecorey365  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Currently, editing crawled properties is restricted to the SP Admin Center. Microsoft gives you read only rights when accessing the schema from the site itself. It's aggravating, but I think this will change at some point. We do have the ability to edit the term store from a site collection, so I expect the schema to catch up at some point.

    Hi Steve!
    Can I able to apply SPLLN search engine to the share point?

    • @stevecorey365
      @stevecorey365  วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'm not familiar with SPLLN. Sorry!

    Hi! Great content :) I am interested in this subject because I am trying to make an api/search using the refinementfilters parameter. I did map the search column to a managed property of type string that is refinable but it is not working. Any advice on how I can achive this?

      After mapping the managed property, you'll have to wait for a recrawl of the data. You can force that by editing metadata, though. It'll recrawl that one item/document within about 15min.

    Is there a workaround for those of us with no access to the Admin Center?

    • @stevecorey365
      @stevecorey365  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you're just needing read-only access, you can find the search schema in Site Settings. If you need to create new managed properties, become friends with your SP Admin. Explain what you're trying to do, and they'll possibly either allow you to do the work, or perform the work for you.

    Hello. I have a question please. In fact, when searching on sharepoint online (whether it is a site search or a document library search), it is done in the metadata and in the content of the documents; this does not make the search accurate. I would like to know, please, how I can configure the search settings so that my searches are only done on the metadata. Thank you

    • @stevecorey365
      @stevecorey365  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Excellent question! By default, a normal sharepoint search will search the fulltext index as well as all managed properties. In order to search only the metadata, you need to tell Sharepoint search to search that way. You should use a search in the format MYMANAGEDPROPERTY:"The value I want to search for"

    How to create the managed property using powershell command?

    • @stevecorey365
      @stevecorey365  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm not too sure of that. I've never tried changing the search schema through PowerShell. The PnP PowerShell module may have something to help you, though.

    Is there a way to get to the schema of a list w/o admin right to the site? Thanks.

    • @stevecorey365
      @stevecorey365  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Welcome to the community! The schema of the list would be in List Settings. For that, you only need Full Control of the list. If you mean the Search Schema, then you'll need Full Control of some site in order to see that schema option in Site Settings. Technically, you don't need Full Control of either if you have a custom permission with specific permissions that Full Control has by default. If you want to see more on that, I've actually got a video coming out on Monday that covers in great detail, SharePoint Permission Levels. That'll tell you everything you need to know about how all permissions work at a granular level!

      @@stevecorey365 I watched the Sharepoint permission video but didn't see info about search schema. Did I miss? Thanks!

    Great Content, but the music is so distracting ....!

    • @stevecorey365
      @stevecorey365  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. It was just too loud. I've gotten much better at mixing the audio so the music is not distracting anymore. Thanks for much for the feedback! At some point, I'll recreate these older videos to improve the quality overall.
