Scott I really like your videos. A good combination of drone and at grade point of views. I wish all model railroaders would watch your drone shots as they really show the color variations in scenery. Your videos also show how to weather freight cars. If the train was going any slower, it would be going backwards!!! Excellent again!
Around 1960, Tomato's in baskets were stacked on farm wagons pulled by tractors lined up in Napoleon streets to unload at Campbells soup factory. Heinz has ketchup rail cars which are three cone bottom with 2:1 SE heads atop, lined. The track at 4:00 worse I have seen.
Here is something to add to the rumor mill. The idea is being looked at yo connect the NDW to the railroad in Grand Rapids. Its only 5 miles needed to connect them and would run north of old 24 and south of new 24.
Considering the condition of the track I can only imagine what would have happened if a big and heavy locomotive like an SD80MAC or even an SD40 ran over it. It probably would have split the rail. I understand that the entire line is going to have new track installed. Now they might be able to run higher than Notch 1. The drone footage is really good also. It gives you a completely different perspective.
Correct. Works ok most of the time except if I’m pacing something for 7000 feet. Hard to eliminate the Doppler effect audio recorded from a stationary point.
We sure get Spoiled with the Drone Footage. There is Absolutely Nothing quite like this View. 👍👍
I agree! I think he’s one of the best!
Thank you
heard in a article that there gonna replace the rail on 10 miles of the line 125-135 lb rail can not wait till they install that rail
10 miles of rail and 20 thousand ties
Too bad they couldn’t have gotten the used rail from CSX when they redid the Garrett sub a few years back, that would have had a lot of life left.
@@ScottTaipaleRail what is the weight of the current rail?
Scott

Thank you! I add that to the title of certain videos that has cars I’d enjoy modeling!

There are a couple of old Maumee and Western locomotives sitting along IN 1 at Connersville Indiana.

Interesting! I still see tomato’s coming out of the fields around here but most people grown corn.
The condition of the ND&W's main line is definitely improving. Nice to see it getting the attention it deserves.
Eventually I will do before and after videos

The rails would snap and spear the fuel tank!
Excellent footage! How are you recording sound ?
Nice video ;)
Thank you
The line looks a whole lot better.
Getting there
Looks good ! Soon they will be able to release the independent brakes all the way and run a full notch one ! 🤣
Lol
Great video!!!!
Thank you
@@ScottTaipaleRail Your welcome!!
Gives a new meaning to the term “express”. LOLOL
Haha gotta joke a little
i have to wonder if the siding at 3:10 ever gets used??
I’ve seen mofw equipment on it before. I believe the switch to it was removed this summer
The new owners of the line are definitely spending money to get it back up to snuff.
Yes and a lot of labor hours going into it!
$8 million, with half of that from a federal grant. The railroad matched the grant.
How do you get these camera shots? Also the horn sounds amazing
Drone I’m pretty sure
By going out and finding trains that are moving
Do you have a microphone at the crossing and the drone

@@ScottTaipaleRail it seems to be working love your videos great at flying the drone love the overhead perspective
