If I may suggest some more advanced stuff for a later episode -Instinct canceling enders that wont kill, straight into ultra. -How much Instinct characters dish out while doing damage (I remember you saying Orchid gives her opponent the least?) -Use of meaty normals and how to escape frame trapes, without shadow counters.
Torchit Frame data basically means the mathematics behind attacks. If you understand frames per second in a game, then you can think of every move as consisting of a number of frames for setup, active, and recovering periods of time. Frame data is very important in the competitive fighting scene, as understanding which moves give the best frame advantage (a faster recovering than your opponent's stun period when struck or when blocking) and which moves lead into which combos are very important for the people who are very deep in the competitive scene. Now, it might be just a bunch of numbers that relate to fractions of a second for a lot of people, but subconsciously you'll see and understand it to some level just by playing--you'll see moves and their execution times, their active attacking times, their recovery times, and their differences to an opponent's hit-stun or block-stun just by getting used to the game. What Max is referring to when talking about easier moves to use manuals into is basically the difference in time between your recovery period after an attack and the opponent's duration of stun on-hit or on-block. Manuals being very sensitive with timing require a better understanding of which moves have a better setup period for executing them; some give you a little more time to pull a manual off, so he suggested a few good ones to get started with.
I've never played the new killer instinct, but from my experience from the old ones and these videos. I LOVE how the games centralize around combos. And that's what KI is known for... combos.

Belmont Ziimon Look at the views he gets from these videos, compared to other videos. KI was hot for a minute, but the scene isn't as big as a lot of fighting games, so I don't think he wants to "waste" his time on more KI stuff. I do wish someone with as much knowledge about fighting games as him would make more videos or something. I enjoy learning. All of my friends have been playing this for a few months now, and I just picked it up less than a week ago and I'm already beating them all pretty consistently. 40/10 is my lowest record on them.
Spoonman KI is only getting bigger. Once season 2 ended the sales went up and the EVO hype of the matches sparked alot of interest. It's not as big as SF or MKX, but bigger than BB and P4U.

A little note. I don't know about season 1 KI, but at least now you should actually release block in order to get shadow counter. Mean if you press MP+MK+back - that results in nothing, character will continue to block. Well, that's why I coudn't pass shadow counter dojo lesson, lol :D

Another way to do a double Ultra is through what's called a recapture. When the first Ultra is over, if you do a specific set of inputs to keep juggling your opponent (Commonly done through one or two shadow moves and/or special moves), and if you can pull off an opener in that juggle combo, you can input the Ultra combo ender again. At least that's how I think it works, I've only ever seen recaptures done, and I've never pulled one off myself.
max, You forgot to mention that it is impossible to perform manuals if you have a shite Internet connection!!! Manuals are So much harder to perform, due to the lost or late data input!!!! PLEASE THUMB THIS UP SO THAT HE SEES!!! Thanks!

I don't know why anyone would say KI is super-casual. It looks like one of the deeper fighting games I've come across, and it seems to me that the devs worked hard to keep any of the characters from being "god-tier" or worthless. (Full disclosure: The last fighting game I bought was KI Gold, and the last console I bought was a used PS2.)
I was enjoying the coverage, but somewhere along the way I have gotten tired of KI. I think it's because I can't actively play it. I just don't have the money for a Xbox One.

I have a theory about the new KI's story. Since it's a reboot but somehow it also takes place after the first two games, I'm thinking that after ki2 they came back to the present... BUT BEFORE the first ki. The only difference is that the characters still have their memories and that's why jago realizes that he's been worshiping gargos, sabrewulf has embraced his animality but is still trying to find a cure, etc. But this is just an idea, I can't wait to see what the story will actually be.
I'm still lost on the shadow combo breakers (1 2 3 combo breakers). I've managed to break shadow moves with lights and heavies instead of hitting mediums. I don't know if this is because shadow moves can be done using any combination of light+medium, light+heavy, medium+heavy, or 3xpunch or 3xkick button and therefore fall under a category where they are countered by lights, mediums, or heavies. If this is the case, then I'm screwed, cause I don't see any difference in the shadow moves animation. Could really use some clarification on this Max.

i know this has nothing to do with assist me but i have to say this. I have found the ufcgym of killer instinct. His name is MASTERMYNE and i ran into him twice the first match i played with him he ragequit halfway through the game (he was wining to i got one combo on him in that game) and the second time i finished a small ultra combo and he rage quit right after the final hit. MASTERMYNE is the new ufcgym if you find this guy while playing just leave the game don't even try to play just quit.

I just found out how to easily do counter breaker 1: do a shadow 2:make them do a combo breaker the one for the shadow 3:as soon as the anouncer said 3!! Press both medium kick and medium punch and get a free combo breaker
What's the difference between a Linker and a manual though? Aren't they both just special moves? And if not, what makes a manual not a double? Is a manual any button after a double? I know you say it's like a link combo from SF, but that's not entirely as clear as you think.
Here is the difference: Auto Double - After an opener or a linker press on of the attack buttons to do a two hit attack. Linker - This is any one of your special moves that can prolong a combo and progress in the combo. Manual - Similar to an Auto Double however, you have to perfectly time the attack. This allows for a single hit attack that is more difficult to break.
It's good to know that you can break an ender (only when it's right after the opener). in which this would be the response to someone who wants to do short combos and get the damage from the ender instead of the long ones. That is great, I like that. but...does it not look make the game look so broken when you're already in the air with the ender and then somebody does a breaker and the frames just completely change???? Don't like that part of it
So basically Ultra Combos are useless and just purely for show since they can only be done when the opponent's health is at 15% or less and, therefore, the opponent's health will already be at 0 long before the Ultra Combo is complete? Is that correct?
