Oh yeah, hey Jaby! I'm very surprised nobody has recommended to you the greatest silent film of Indian cinema starring one of the best actors, Kamal Hassan. As the genre indicates, it has no language and hence was a pan Indian film. It had different names, Pushpaka Vimanam, Pushpak, Pushpaka Vimana etc., depending on which Indian state it was released. And this movie was directed by the legendary Telugu film maker, Singeetham Srinivasa Rao. To my knowledge this movie has won more than one national award. This is a must watch!
He and Rajnikant are the only two legends from South who could crossover the regional barriers and made it big in mainstream Cinema. He worked as a assistant director, stuntmen, choreographer, cinematographer, technical artist, supporting actor etc and this is just the small part of kamal he is also a poet, writer and he also started a newspaper. To be fair, many actors we see today was in the film industry because they were inspired from him. And all that he has ever earned he put it into film, nothing else. True artist to the core none other than him, and I doubt there is no one who could be like him in future either. Kamal is a legacy 💙🙂

13:50 , kamal Hassan didn't go to school he had a anglo indian tutor for some years who taught him at his house, he was acting in famous drama troupe for many years and in the late teen he learnt various dance forms then he became a choreographer to big movie stars in the 1970's and he acted in Malayalam movies for some years and started acting in the late 70's in Tamil movies within couple of years his movies became big hit and after that there was no stopping in his career till today.
In that young after his few films he went to school and also was playing in a drama troop, he learnt classical dance and at the age of 14 he dropped from school and went to work as dance assistant, assistant director, learnt music, learnt singing, to name a few... He has mastered all the crafts of film making 🙏

There was a recess for about 7 years till 1970. Next few years was struggling as an actor doing small roles till about 1974, when he got his first filmfare award. Since then no turning back. Like the lady anchor said, KH is a master craftsman, showman and a consummate artist. I think he is the most versatile person not only in acting but also in various film making craft on earth. Can you name someone as adept as him? And the quality he brings on the table invariably is incomparable. He actually defies the saying “jack of all master of none”...

He went to school till only 4th grade. Not because of poverty, simply because they didn't teach acting in the school, when he was a teen he had to convince his patients that he can make acting as a career, when his whole family is full of lawyers and judges. He is from my home town and I'm proud of him. Hopefully he succeeds in his political career as well.
Its been answered before, to add to it, he was part of a theatre group after he stopped getting kid roles and then started to learn classical dancing. which lead to him working up the ladder to be a full-time choreographer in movies before coming back to act through his mentor Balachander.

13:50 , kamal Hassan didn't go to school he had a anglo indian tutor for some years who taught him at his house, he was acting in famous drama troupe for many years and in the late teen he learnt various dance forms then he became a choreographer to big movie stars in the 1970's and he acted in Malayalam movies for some years and started acting in the late 70's in Tamil movies within couple of years his movies became big hit and after that there was no stopping in his career till today.

Both of yours assessments of Kamalhassan are spot on. He is a high school drop out from a higher middle class family and well read. He acted as a child in few films till 1963. There was a recess for about 7 years till 1970. Next few years was struggling as an actor doing small roles till about 1974, when he got his first filmfare award. Since then no turning back. Like the lady anchor said, KH is a master craftsman, showman and a consummate artist. I think he is the most versatile person not only in acting but also in various film making craft on earth. Can you name someone as adept as him? And the quality he brings on the table invariably is incomparable. He actually defies the saying “jack of all master of none”...

He would often address himself as non revelent actor as he wished be a technician rather than a actor. he learned all kind classical dances and classical music when he was a small kid. There are lot that you all should know about him.
He doesn't alone write and direct, he is a choreographer,stunt master,director,producer, dialogue writter,story writter,screenplay. He does everything for his movie. Wondering from were he gets his emotions, he has a whole world of library that he reads.

From childhoold actor , as regular kid he went to school (upto high school) from then he associated himself with film industry . Before getting into full time hero role, he was doing assistant roles (dancer, cameraman, director). He is a self taught person.

He went to school till only 4th grade. Not because of poverty, simply because they didn't teach acting in the school, when he was a teen he had to convince his patients that he can make acting as a career, when his whole family is full of lawyers and judges. He is from my home town and I'm proud of him. Hopefully he succeeds in his political career as well.
