I told my employer, I'm now being pushed out because I'm seen as not capable of doing my job. I wish employers actually cared about employees in the way this film shows. I really hope my next employment is different 😢
@@X.MillennialResponder.X it was the National Trust. I left in the end because I was being called childish and incapable. I ended up having a breakdown and starting tribunal proceedings but had to pull out due to finances and the horrific lies they told the court. It's awful really, disgusting way to treat employees, and I'm not the first OR the last to be treated like this. Funnily enough, I now freelance and one of my jobs is in writing churning out approximately 50k words a month! I had the last laugh, sure, but it's been tough to get over how I was treated and it still makes me angry to this day. The National Trust treated me like crap, they bullied and lied until I was too ill to fight. Awful place, and this from a charity that is supposed to out people first. It's a joke. 😔
@@NikiY I'm still going through it, in one of my countries largest welfare services, my team leader laughed at me when I was explaining what dyslexia is to our HR worker ....what's worse is, our young clients/service users, are not getting thier education needs or employment opportunities met! I'm ready to scream and cry if I'm not heard soon. I will not stop until practice is changed!!! But I need serious help and strong voices to challange senior management and the CEO.
I hid my dyslexia from my employer. I had a chat with a manger from another department. She was very social, like myself and I wanted to ask her about her background. She never went to lunch at the same as me. I live in Europe but the company language was English. Out of no where she told me, in a loud voice she has dyslexia and offered the candy the she eating like it was "no big deal". I was shocked. How can she tell people? How did she become a manager? I was afraid that someone would find out about me. Hearing her story changed my life. Dyslexic people need to find their strengths and know their personal weak points. Now my son, who is 8 is being tested for dyslexia.
@@Pro1938ftc3ch I worked in logistics, with a lot of manual work with an old fashioned system. I had to adapt the job. I kept my own list to track orders and used hand written notes for invoicing which had a lot of manual steps. Modern software, when utilized properly can help with reminders. For example, in MS dynamics you can use boomerang to remind you to follow up on an e-mail after 2 weeks if you don't get a response, etc. There is no way I would have remembered. Online tools should be used more dyslexics to adapt work tasks. I am not tech savvy, but I have had to look for solutions to suit my needs.
EY appears to be making some real cultural change in their organisation. My wish is that others get up to speed. I applied for many jobs this year, and mentioned Dyslexia on my cv. I did not get one interview. Very sobering, I removed any mention of Dyslexia from my cv and will start applying for jobs again this year. I will see if there is any difference in responses.
Wow just found this channel. i was misdiagnosed years abo by a doctor. It takes me maybe 20 hour to write a 6 page letter, but it is the best darn letter, with persuasive argument. My work is in the field of right brain thinking. I tried ten times harder in college and grad school. Anyone know where to get proper testing done in the US, even online?

You've got it! I can assure you there is a massively disproportionate number of extremely disadvantaged and marginalised people who are dyslexic. Welfare payments can be slashed, court systems freed up and most importantly, many more people with a strong sense of self worth, who would thrive if they had the pathways of opportunity . 🥺😥😢

We are forced to conform to a world we do not belong in. Too often I have proven my abilities and then to have had the outcomes stollen by a conventional staff member who was only a ‘yes man’. This is not a pleasant world for us.
Do employers really want to help people who are different? Or do they want the ones who followed the formula at school, do this, this way get good grades. The employers may want rule followers not people to think and make risky changes.
