because the complex ion has 4 monodentate + 2 monodentate ligand which the cis-isomer and its mirror image are superimposable (means they are identical).
not possible to draw that as the question stated the dien will form three bonds and all (N-N-N) lie in same plane, so the three Cl need to be in same plane too.
because from the formula [Au(dien)Cl3] we know that dien is tridentate ligand (which it has 3 lone pair donors use to form 3 dative bonds with Au3+), the 3 dative bonds must be in the same plane, thats why we need to draw like this.
Sir, does it matter in what order you put the atoms when drawing only one isomeric form? I never know where to write each one. For example in 6b iv
not very particular in the order of ligand, normally we will put the neutral ligand first.
thank you sir for this video, may i know why the last one cannot show optical isomerism?
because the complex ion has 4 monodentate + 2 monodentate ligand which the cis-isomer and its mirror image are superimposable (means they are identical).
Hi sir, for 6)b)iii) can we draw isomer with all Cl on one side?
not possible to draw that as the question stated the dien will form three bonds and all (N-N-N) lie in same plane, so the three Cl need to be in same plane too.
14:31 how can they show optical isomerism when they dont have 4 different group attached here
Octahedral complex can form optical isomers, depend on the combination of ligands. As long the mirror images are non-superimposable.
Sir why can’t tetrahedral show isomerism? In 7:30
what I can say is.... only square planar and octahedral complexes can form cis-trans.
@@i.love.theamkl but can’t tetrahedral form optical isomer?
@@theone77kl you need to understand it needs four different groups in order to form optical isomers.
@@i.love.theamkl oh yes i forgot about that. Thank you so much
Sir, I didn't understand the structure of Au(dien)Cl3 in 6(b)(iii)
because from the formula [Au(dien)Cl3] we know that dien is tridentate ligand (which it has 3 lone pair donors use to form 3 dative bonds with Au3+), the 3 dative bonds must be in the same plane, thats why we need to draw like this.
