Once again a fantastic presentation, as usual !!! The last five minutes of that sweeping panorama were both stunning and sublime !!! Thank you so much !!
Unquestionably the finest visual presentation of the surface of another planet (and Mars at that!) i have ever seen. By taking your time and panning the surroundings very slowly, you've allowed the viewer to be mezmerized and awed to the longest extent possible.. time to meditate and wonder at an alien world that bankrupts the english language trying to describe it. You've done a magnificent job with highly informative narration along the way. In short you have created a Masterpiece!
You are the perfect example of the pointlessness of an education and of being well trained and experienced in a highly specialized field; as you demonstrate, all one needs is a few TH-cam videos and absolute certainty, in order to an authority on everything and anything.
@@skinthekat0530 Interesting that you recognize and identify yourself as exactly the kind of person I'm talking about. How does that come across to you as a good look?
It looks like volcanic rock almost, but it is probably sandstone that has been formed by wind, pressure and gravity. Many of the rocks look like they are squared off by fracture.
Like stepping on a Mr. Big chocolate bar, with it's vanilla wafers coated in caramel and rice crisp and then covered in delicious Cadbury chocolate, Mars would probably taste more like pumpkin crisp I would think.
Mars never had our geology. No moon for tidal regulation. Phobos and Diemos don't count. They are tiny. Also it has not had a strong electromagnetic field for who knows how long. Which is why its atmosphere is almost gone. The solar wind blew most of it away. Still, it is a fascinating planet.
Beautiful desolation. Like the vast majority of planets in the galaxy, I suspect. An almost timeless landscape barely changing from one millenia to the next. Extant, pointless existence, purposeless, much more obvious here due to the lack of life. Life adds so much dynamism, then consciousness craves meaning and purpose. The Universe who's laws we cannot escape shows complete indifference to it all, as it boils the Earth's oceans and destroys all life on Earth, like it never mattered. Still searching for the meaning to life? Time and again the Universe shows us that it just is, because it can, without direction or purpose.
If we are going to dream… imagine a modified Dragon capsule launched on a Falcon Heavy that is set up for propulsive landing and 4 modified for the dust and temperature variations Optimus robots on board landing on Mars with a MMRTG generator large enough so each Optimus can recharge as needed

If only they were unprocessed. That's my preference, anyway. NASA likes to be dishonest regarding such scenery. Likes to blur and remove the important parts! What a shame for us all.
As engineers in the past few years have taken a study of Egyptian artifacts they have proven it is simply not possible for Egyptians to make much of the artifacts they had claimed to have made. Some of the measurements are too exact for us to duplicate today. The biggest impact is to sciences like archeology. The history they have given us is simply impossible. It’s amazing to watch another planet from my bed room 🙂
Was just thinking almost the same as I'm cozy here in the ol' four poster with two cats...looking in on another planet on my smart phone...wow!
@davestelling I think your cats are also feeling amazing to watch another planet with you 🙂 give them love from me ❤️
Deep time is hard to fathom. Fascinating. TY
I hope we can excavate and look for fossils one day.
We already do
The fossils will likely be microscopic, but that’s just as important as large ones.

excellent descriptions and analysis, thank you.

Excellent narrative-brilliant. Seeing the surface of Mars is my childhood dream come true.
Thank you 😊 🙏
Foolish Martians. They destroyed their planet. Now they are working to end Mars 2.

Looking for life on Mars is a fool's errand. We should be concentrating on valuable resources and placing siesmonitors through out the planet.
what could be a better investment than giving Musk $1T to send a few people on a one-way journey.
why not give Musk $1T to send a few people on a one way trip.

Standing on planet Mars can the Earth be seen by a human eyes??
Yes. It should technically be easier to see than Mars is from earth! Earth is much larger, and would be fairly bright.
Absolutely and so can our moon.
Yes, in exactly the same way we can see Mars from Earth.
May organisms from Mars be too dangerous? Extreme environment like Mars still survive. How to sterilize?
Mars belong to thoses who never left... to thoses who are staying despite adversity😅

The imagination of NASA special effects team and Photoshop engineers.
From stars, ultimately.
