Then I got a 3060, which was great. Way better than the 1650, or the 860 I had before that. I play mostly Fortnite, but I also purchased Hogwarts Legacy after I got the 3060. I wasn't able to play on my 27" 1080x60 monitor with ultra settings without dipping below 60 frames. Ended up sending the 3060 back, and got the 3060ti. Now I can play all max / ultra settings (RT off), and never dip below 60fps. I can see in the video here the 3060 is using 8+ GB Vram. But, the 3060ti is using 7+ GB Vram and getting more frames. So I don't know what shortcuts or texture reducing is happening. All I know is I am getting locked 60fps and I am happy. I wanted a system that could play max settings since my last system I kept 7 years and I was continually reducing settings in newer games to play with good fps. And I'll do that again now over the years. I just wanted to start with a 60fps locked at max settings. I'm happy :) I expect on 1080x60 I can leave this system as it is for at least another 2 or 3 years. I don't play tons of games. But here or there I'll pick a new one up. So, in a few years when something I want to play leaves me wanting more, I'll upgrade. But for now, it's awesome, and my video rendering times are cut in half compared to the computer I replaced.
no there is no shortcuts or texture reducing. the overall core count of the ti is more than the regular which is what makes the gpu expensive. if they just aded 4 more gb vram to this card it would be a 3070 llevel card. this shows how it is not expensive for nvidia to install vram

I wonder how this will look in the future games because 4 gb of vram difference seems like a lot and games aren't aiming to be less but more vram-demanding every year.
"With the combination of the faster clock speed, faster boost clock speed, and more VRAM, you'd expect the Nvidia RTX 3060 to be faster than the RTX 3060 Ti-but that's not the case. Despite having 8GB VRAM and a lower boost clock, the RTX 3060 Ti offers better performance. One reason is that the RTX 3060 has a smaller and slower memory bus than the RTX 3060 Ti. This means data exchange takes longer on the 3060, translating to lower overall memory bandwidth for the GPU."

The 3060Ti is objectively the better card because it's faster. The 3060 12gb is a scam card because it's not fast enough.
@@ThunderTheBlackShadowKitty Thats a good point, before using 12gb of vram you will need to turn down from ultra to achieve 60fps anyway. TI is faster, but will suffer to run ultra too even with optimized games. The bar is on the consoles, which uses 10-14gb of vram and focus on 1440p-4k, and as the games are starting to become next gen exclusives the vram will increase too. I think in a near future 3060ti will become a killer 1080p card to even sometime use 2k in newer games.
8GB vRAM should be plenty for 1080p and most 1440p titles....Nvidia slapping on extra vRAM on the cheap to make sales is just pathetic. If anything, these were supposed to be low power low cost mining cards.
I play on a 27" 1080x60 monitor. Viewsonic, had it for almost 8 years now. It is amazing and I don't care to replace it. Built my PC a couple years ago (B550m, 5800x, 32gb ram, gen4 nvme). Originally had a gtx1650 (prices were crazy for GPU's back in 2021). Then I upgraded to a 3060 12gb. And although it played any game I wanted, I couldn't max most games out and get my 60FPS locked. Hogwarts Legacy I had to turn a lot down. Sent it back, and got a 3060ti. Now I can run Hogwarts Legacy on all ultra settings (Except RT off). And I get constant 60FPS. Was worth the extra $50 at the time. I don't mind turning settings down as things age. But I wanted my new card to max the games I play right now. And at 1080x60, that really shouldn't be hard.
@oliwer2540 I have the MSI Ventus 2x GDDR6. I went with this because it has a single 8 pin connector and was the best price when I purchased. Thr GDDR6X cards do get a couple more FPS in some games. They use more power of course too. Really if you don't care about power consumption (I didn't want to change my 550w PSU) then just get any name brand with 3 fans if it will fit your case. I have a smaller case so I wanted w fans. I adjusted my fan curve and my GPU is silent even playing Hogwarts Legacy. Zotac is a great budget friendly brand and their cards are just as good as the others. Otherwise I'd look at Asus, MSI, or Gigabyte. All are going to perform basically the same. Some will have some stock overclocking, most will actually. But you can always easily overclock yourself too.
@@earthling1984 Ye i wa looking at getting a 3060 ti but the MSI ventus version is quite expensive and just wondering if the normal 3060 MSI version is a lot worse than the ti version. @oliwer2540 Zotac is a name brand that's been around for like 20 years. I've used many Zotac products and have had zero issues. In fact the 3060 12gb I had before this ti version was a Zotac. And I only sent it back because I decided to upgrade to a ti. They are often priced lower than most other brands. And they do this basically to get sales, not because they are lower quality.
how? i own it and i play every game at 1440p max settings and im getting 80-100 fps, depending on the game. for example in AAA games like ac valhalla i get 80 fps on 2k max, which is pretty great. non AAA games go 120+ fps easy
@@Morandi-ig9cs did you see how it runs the latest AAA games ultra in 2k? Its going around 60fps, AC Valhalla is from 2020. There is no mistery in this, I have the card and it still doing great.
I bought the TI version because of those lows, not because the average or highs. And I am happy with my decision. Btw these cards always need dlss quality for a amooth game.
Even if possibly at some point in the near future all 8gb cards become obselete due to games becoming more demanding (worse optimization), the 12 gb RTX 3060 still wouldn't get more frames as it will inevitably always perform worse than the 8gb 3060 Ti. In the end we all get hustled by Nvidia several years in advance for buying their budget graphics cards...
Unironically I bought a normal 3060 12gb recently. Had better discount than AMD counterparts... I would love to get my hands on AMD, but market needs to help me to do so.
I have a video idea for you.. Could you perhaps do a full grid of cars and max settings test at 1080p/1440p/4k on Assetto Corsa Competizione using the 5800X3D, 7950X3D & i9-13900k? Or a test involving the above CPUs and game but in any driving setting that's easiest for you, but all 3 resolutions still. Thanks!
in half these videos, the 3060 loads more vram into its buffer due to it having 12GB while the 3060ti only has to manage with 8GB, but the 3060ti is still running stable AND at higher fps, despite suffering from vram overflow. but would you look at that, the games on the 3060ti dont stutter and crash like some commenters predict, based on limited, cherrypicked benchmark runs shown by amd sponsored misleading channels like hardware unboxed. so here you have the evidence, just like in countless other benchmark videos, that if your gpu runs out of vram it doesnt automatically make the game a choppy mess. if that happens, it simply means you are playing a brand new game that has to be patched by the devs, or nvidia will release new drivers soon. but channels like hardware unboxed make a living by turning short-lived, temporary problems into as much ad revenue generating clickbait content as possible.
If you play in 1080p, 8GB of VRAM is fine, most games will stop at 10Gb VRAM used which does not allows big overflows from 8GB. If you play in Quad or 4k HD it is a big issue, though. The more the overflow, the more the FPS gap shortens, and you can see it in this video (gap of 27% in non-VRAM intensive, gap of 17% in VRAM intensive), if a VRAM gap overfloe of over 40% capacity happens, shuttering happens, too. VRAM intensive games will be more common now that Unreal Engine 5 native function is at 12GB of VRAM to match consoles. A few AAA developers already stated they are making games with minimum requirements of 12GB to even enable 1440p.
No, the text defects that occurred in some games when the game engine ran out of memory were real. Sure a patch might come out to make the game behave better, but the problem was not manufactured by anyone sponsored by AMD.

b550m, 5800x, 3060ti, 32gb 3200ram. I got the 3060 12gb a few months back (I started with a 1650 because I built at the end of 2021 and GPU prices were crazy, so it held me over).
I'm happy :)
I expect on 1080x60 I can leave this system as it is for at least another 2 or 3 years. I don't play tons of games. But here or there I'll pick a new one up. So, in a few years when something I want to play leaves me wanting more, I'll upgrade. But for now, it's awesome, and my video rendering times are cut in half compared to the computer I replaced.
The 3060ti uses less video memory because the bus is larger. Therefore, it processes images faster and does not need to use as much video memory.
no there is no shortcuts or texture reducing. the overall core count of the ti is more than the regular which is what makes the gpu expensive. if they just aded 4 more gb vram to this card it would be a 3070 llevel card. this shows how it is not expensive for nvidia to install vram

@@ThunderTheBlackShadowKitty Thats a good point, before using 12gb of vram you will need to turn down from ultra to achieve 60fps anyway. And at 1080x60, that really shouldn't be hard.
which 3060 ti do you recommend buying?

Can you, please, clarify what software and setting were used for performance monitoring in this video ?
they used MSI afterburner and in that program is a built in performance monitor program that is called RivaTuner Statistics Server

3060 ti 33% Faster and 3060 has 33% more RAM 😂😂😂
50% more VRAM*
@b.r.1087
3060ti = 8GB
8GB = 100%, therefore 4GB = 50%
8GB + 4GB = 12GB
3060 = 12GB, therefore it has 50% more RAM than 3060ti.
I just wanted to make sure myself. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

What kind of 3060 Ti is this, mine eats 210W and still stuck at 1800mhz.
What model do you have? You might wanna OC it. It's probably a great OC card. Also mine goes up to 1890mhz in stock at the very least and jumps up to 1950mhz from time to time.
@@thatguy3000 its palit dual. Since its hitting power limits, trying to push clocks is not much makes sense, but i tried anyway. its stable at +130mhz core OC. If I go 4K, it even drops to 1730's at stock. I see some 3060 ti's pulls up to 250W at 2100mhz. I prolly have one of those gpu's but with less power limit. It still gets average 3060 ti scores even with lower clocks i have no idea what nvidia doing these chip's.
how big of a difference in price should be between msrp and a rog strix card? damn I want a 3060 but the rog strix one, it's never in stock and it's way pricier, could get a 3060 ti with that money,
Rog strix cards are expensive enough that you would get the next model of GPU no problem and would always get more performance than the OC Rog Strix. The Rog Strix cards are a scam. If you want to buy a 3060 Rog model, then there's a 100% chance that there is a cheaper 3060 Ti and the 3060 Ti would always be the better option. Even OC the 3060 is still shit unless you get a beast of a silicon chip that can be insanely overclocked but that's super rare, even in Rog Strix models.

Founders edition cards ?
what should i buy, if i only want to play in 1080p?
Rx 6600 less than 200 dollars and offers its combating against the rtx 3060
@@Abdullah______ no one buy AMD because its actually suck on market
Go for a 6700XT it beats both 3060 and 3060 Ti and costs way less.
Or if you care about Nvidia that much then go for a 4060. They cost about the same or less than 3060 Ti and it performs less than 10% worse, but you get DLSS 3.
The vram is the very last thing you need to see , 8gb for 1080p is enough for the next 3-5 years anyway , plus the 40 series suck becouse of the bus bit cut, this is the reason the 3060ti it’s better than 4060
Imagine a RTX 3060 ti with 12gb VRAM Gddr6x
Full HD??? Omg😮
great comparison!
3060 is way better for people who not only want to play games fast (which both do) but alsp want to use AI models locally (which 3060ti cant)
Add rx 6650 xt please.
so Ti is mostly 15 more fps on all games.
Still happy with my GTX 1050 ti
Used to have that card but upgraded to RTX 3060.
Wow the 1050 Ti sucks so bad. It's only good for low spec games. I had to play at 720p low settings to get like 35 to 50 fps in triple A games
3060ti is much closer to 3070 than to crappy 3060 with its useless 12GB, only idiots don't know it, they only discuss memory size, they will pickle memory and eat for breakfast
17.08% in Resident Evil 4
Not as much as I would have thought. I was expecting around 23% or better.I guess the 12gb is slightly better, than the 8gb 3060.
1935 mhz?
Oc?
The CPU in the test should be i5 13400f
why?, we are here to see gpu performance to be maxed out
no one will use these GPUs with 13900k

There’s already videos of them

What a chad 3060 with 12gb
MSI RTX 3060 Gaming X 12G💞💞
Considering how much VRAM games eat nowadays,3060 is a wayyyyy better choice.8gb is already barely enough if you want to max out every setting
+20 fps for 70$
Depending on the game. 20-40fps
40fps in some games
wtf 2023 still 1080 ?
Yep, most people are still on 1080p(I'm not, I'm on 3440x1440).
якщо ти платиш +20% більше за карту, щоб отримати +20% кус, то це значить, що ти НЕ отримуєш жодної вигоди з такої покупки!
For the price, 3060 12gb still a trash.
3060 is a shame
3060 ti or 3060 ?
Ti
none, 3080TI, come on, stop comparing diferent haedware with diferent price🤣🤣
