never quite heard anything like this 2012 hornline in all of my 20+ years of drumcorps fandom. the controlled intonation in tandem with those licks being articulated is beyond impressive.
its actually the bugle and drum corps it's just shortened for reasons of time consuming phrases. The horns are ll bugles in one way or another. It's a very old tradition dating back to where all there were were bugles and drums no french horns tubas trumpets nothing like that. The Bugle Boys ;3
I love their uniforms. You can CLEARLY tell who the guys are. You can also tell which of them are of the gentile persuasion for that matter. In fact, you can tell which of them.... ok, I made my point. To quote Grease..."if you can't be an athlete, be an Athletic Supporter.
They have drum lines. The drum line just isnt with the band. Most people just call them drum corp for short, but they are really technically called "drum and bugle corps" At least in my world they are. But idk. They are dci which sands for drum corp international.
Shelly Brown their drill was super duper hard, they looked fantastic. Yes, not BD level that year, but damn. How times have changed. No one does drill like BD or crown 2012 anymore.
@@nickniehaus1763 but crown won visual proficiency on finals that year... and tied with BD in total visuals for the Brazale that year. IMO they were more BD level that year than BD.
...package...package..teeny package...right package...right package...left package... package?....girl....package....PACKAGE!!...package.. Ah, yes, the joys of thin gabardine and spandex.
this feels like the lowest of low tier bait but yknow im a sucker for encouraging old ass baity comments. Every single player in this video could play circles around you even today.

That SUTA in the background!
I love Crowns Hornline so much. Some of the most beefy sound ive ever heard.
Well deserving of the Ott. The others weren't even in the same league, as far as I'm concerned.
magikkmann BD was excellent, but this deserved the win
EVERY part is sooo clean! And the echo!
By far my second favorite brass line in all of DCI..... BUT. That. SUTA. Tho.
My favorite horn line.
The magic of Carolina Crown :D
They still give me chills. "i can't even"
Matt Harloff is the man
You saved the best part for last.
because they used to use actual bugles, then started using multiple valve bugles, and moved into Bb horns.
3:30. that sound!!!!!
3:55 is perfection
lol that flexibility though
dude..no one else is even close to this.
I remember those areas in the Hoosier Dome. They are loud as hell.

A Potato what's amazing is that 2013 was even cleaner
4:35 is coming for ya.... Crown's hornline is incredible, but the only part of the video that gave goosebumps was at 4:35.
Luke Zamprelli not 4;52?
Actually the full name is Drum & Bugle Corps (pronounced "Core" not "Corpse"

I wouldn't go that far.
They should've won 1st
is it just me or did 1:52 sound really out of tune?
I think it's a little out of tune, but they start correcting it almost instantly
The acoustics in that room were terrible
WHY DO THEY CALL THESE BANDS DRUM CORPS?
Robert Watson the full name is frump and bugle corps. They only use brass instruments, percussion and color guard.

Ah, yes, the joys of thin gabardine and spandex.
Sounds great, but I'm not the biggest fan of the music selection...
SinginDaBLUES03 I can't talk to you if you don't like Fanfare
They are bands and frolic around like High school BANDS and College BANDS.
