Some network engineer that had equipment on that orange conduit fiber line probably freaked out when all the sudden their light levels shot up when that fiber was straightened out haha
I called and asked what they wanted me to do with the existing kinked fiber and they said straighten it and if the network goes down we’d deal with it. The network didn’t go down. Fiber can be tough.
Holy molly, this is really hard work It reminds me a bit of the days that I had to pull coaxial cables through smalls pipes at home that are concreted to the house, really annoying
@@lifeasweknowit5280 Are you able to back charge this additional work you had to do outside of scope? Are these flat bid jobs, or T&M... I did not even realize you had to modify the occupied conduit in the 2nd repair.... WoW.. these services just push everything out of their way to fix their own problem (water line) and end up damaging fiber conduit in the process... What if they broke that orange conduit fiber line, then the service would have been screwed with a broken conduit as well as fiber, because the water department was careless... Seems like this is the world we live in now.,
I just started splicing fiber in the Bay Area a couple years ago... I appreciate your content. I've always been curious about the daily life of the other side of fiber! Keep up the good work bro!
@@lifeasweknowit5280 chaotic to say the least... in house isn't experienced enough to handle the nasty enclosures and subcontractors don't want to deal with the mess of design issues and declining rates.. I would love to shadow a construction crew for a week because I'm always criticizing the end result but don't know what the crew had to go through to get to that point... thats why I enjoy your videos!
Interesting, I’m not exactly sure why enclosures are so messy but most of them are in my area. It’s a competitive market as far as price goes in this market. The problem is inflation has grown much faster then the price per foot.
boy , some of those pulls you have to earn ! . Good locate and repair of someone else's trouble. wonder if that repair caused or cured someones fiber issues? Good job regardless!

I'm impressed it still worked with that sharp a kink in it.

what kind of machine operator ruins two conduits and says nothing to anyone, I cannot believe you had to clean up that mess after them
Great video! Great to see people troubleshooting a problem and the steps they took to solve.
Thank you!
You do a fantastic job explaining what's going on. Thank you. Makes the video much more enjoyable.
I’m trying to get better at it. Thanks for watching!
12:13 I always enjoy those surprise afterthought boxes hacked into high traffic areas.
Nice work! Enjoying the longer videos.
Thanks, I appreciate you watching!

The existing fiber that we straightened out was good to go. Fiber can be surprisingly tough.
That figure 8 and making sure there’s enough fiber is something I sure don’t miss😂
If you know you know!
'i think we have more problems than we know' oh how I have felt that
Ha ha it happens to the best of us.
Always one thing or another with these types of jobs.
Do you get more for the job when you have to fix stuff
Yes we do. Especially if it makes the job take way longer than it should.
American Family Insurance Building located at 9510 S Meridian Blvd Englewood, Colorado 80112.
I thought it was down that way, always dead over there except start or end of day. Used to have a customer down that way.
I know where that building is! Wild seeing places near my house on TH-cam.
It’s a small world. Thanks for watching!
looks like a Micky mouse job
Hot dog!
