If you have children or grandchildren please share this wonderful book with them. The Giving Tree Is One Of My Favorite Books of All Time amzn.to/2XVzn1w
When I was still young one of my Aunts died and I went out to speak with my dad. He was pretty sad and he told me something that always stuck with me. “When you are young life gives you things but if you are lucky enough to live long enough you reach an age where it starts to take things away from you.”
I’m very glad you made this video. I lost my Grandfather when I was 9. Really before I got to the age of doing projects, adventures, etc. The memories I do have of him are so cherished. I’m now turning 23. I’ve got his old F-150, guns, main toolbox, his 3/4 S&K socket set. All of which are not worth much to most people, but priceless to me. I’d sell my 2012 F-250 4x4, which is also my first vehicle before I’d let go of that 2000 F-150 4x2. Wonderful story of your Grandfather. God Bless Cody
Thank you for sharing that. I grew up with my maternal grandfather spending a month or two every year with us. Him and my grandmother lived in Wisconsin and we live in Florida but my father built a mother-in-law addition on to our house so they had their own space: bedroom, bathroom, living room, and kitchen. He loved to fish and kept a boat at our house(I grew up on the Estero river) He and my mother loved the water. He taught me how to fish, how to navigate the river, all about tides and oyster shoals and how storms can change the high and low spots in a river. We used to watch Jeopardy every night together. No matter what we were doing even if it was watching TV he was always teaching me something. Thank you for showing the tears, it's I feel sometimes the only physical reminder of him I have left, those tears, when something reminds me so strongly of him and my grandmother. God bless from Florida the last bastion of freedom.
Cody I’m 18 and your story has really inspired me to spend more time with my grandpa and older relatives. Thanks for the honesty and love you show. I really look up to you. Keep up the great work.
This story reminds me of my grandpa. He lost his leg in WWII and then went on to start a church with my grandma. They pastored for 43 years before he went to his reward in 2005, she passed in early 2015. I miss them terribly, but I so look forward to seeing them again on the other side of glory. And to walk those streets with my grandpa and his two legs. Thank you Cody for being so open and real. And for the memory
My giving tree was my grandmother! She passed away many years ago and I still think about her almost everyday! Tears are the footprints that people have left in our hearts!
I watched this video and instantly went to my grandfather and told him how much he means to me. Thank you for reminding us not to forget the ones you got us to the place we are today.
What a treasured memory to share. I had two wonderful grandpas that were always ready to give me their time and their attention and their wisdom. I cried right along with you with my own smile. Thank you.
I choked up when you said, "I just need a place to sit." That stirred something deep in my heart. I remember when you posted about your grandfather going into the kingdom. It's so cool that you had a man that spoke so much into you as you grew up. Videos like this are what originally hooked me to your channel (into TH-cam, for that matter). You are a blessing, Cody. Thank you.
It never ceases to amaze me how much Grandfathers impact the lives of their Grandsons. My paternal Grandpa and I were very close, I'd venture to say that he was my best friend and we spent a lot of time together just doing anything and everything. It's truly a blessing to have a Grandfather who makes it a point to be present in your life as a young man and I too count myself fortunate to have been a benefactor of such kindness.
one your best, Cody. I love that you showed grandad at the end. I was always wondering if he lived to see Jack and Mrs. W., since he has been such a huge part of your life and by proxy, ours! It is like reading a great adventure book and finding out at the end that the hero still lives. I hope to meet him in the Paradise. Peace.
So, I’ve heard that story a countless thousand times, but the way you told it and the perspective you presented... well, it brought me to tears. Thanks for sharing.
The way you talk about your granddad reminds me so much of the way my father talked about mine. He passed when i was two, never got to know him. Was a jack of all trades master of none. Wish i could of grew up by his side. Got my first deer in 2017 with his savage 30-06 he bought new in the 80s. Bittersweet feeling. Great video as always!
I did not expect to watch A Scary Hunting Story and end up misty eyed and reminiscent, but thank you. You gave me a few moments to reflect on my own grandfather, who helped shape the man that I am today, and the times that my own children spent with him. You are a good man and I appreciate your contribution to this world.
Well, now I'm sitting on the side of the road at work, wiping my eyes. You got me thinking about my grandpa, and what he did for me through my young years. I miss him everyday and wish my children, and wife could have met him. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Man that touched me deep, It is a life changing moment when you loose the man that taught you the most, sadly I lost that man too early in my life. I hope that he is proud of who I am becoming Men can cry and men need to grief too, glad you gave the example Cody
Thanks for sharing! I'm 73 and this story so paralleled my life. My Dad was as been gone since I was 14. Your recollections brought back such vivid memories about my growing up with Pop. Things I haven't thought about for years. Thanks for taking me back to simpler times. This is why I enjoy your channel so much. Again thanks!
That man means so much to you, you’re what you call a real man. Not afraid to show your emotions on camera. I’ve always had a lot of respect for you. I’m only 17 years old but you have taught me so much on being a man. Thank you
Teenage life and no time for grandad...hit me like a ton of bricks that. Was exactly like that. A lovely thing to see that raw real emotion. Thank you.
I remember the the quad video from years ago. Cody I think u do such a great job telling and sharing his story's. We all have come to love your grand dad. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for this! It made me miss my own grandfather and I was shedding tears right along with you there. What a wonderful promise we have to walk with them again one day!
My Grandad taught me how to Fish and Shoot and He Fought in WW2 with honours His Name is William Walter Griffiths And I Miss Him More Than Any Other Family Member I've Ever Lost He Could Take A Swiss Watch Apart with One of those jewellers Eye glasses and fit a New Mainspring ! I used to ask Him " can I watch " and He used to say " YES as long as you don't sneeze "
Love, love, love this video. Thanks for sharing this, Cody. My grandfather passed shortly before my first child was born. When my son came into the world I was so happy but sad at the same time because Grandpa never got to meet him. My grandmother would live on to 100 years of age and got to meet all of my children and I can't thank god enough for allowing that to happen.
I have loved your channel for over 5 years. There is just something about it that resonates with me. I have to say though that by far this is the best video you have ever done. It has everything I watch your videos for faith, family, and feeling. I was so touched that I cried along with you. I look forward to the day when I can see my grandparents and my dad again. God bless you and your family abundantly with all the riches of heaven. We love you all you are a part of our family.
Been watching this guy for many years, Amazing how true his stories and teachings are. Funny how as we get older, we get more emotional, I guess we just realize how precious life really is.
Thanks for sharing! He reminds me of my Dad. I sure miss him! Sadly I never met my dads dad. My moms dad passed when I was 3. I too am looking forward to that reunion with my dad and my grandparents! I just remember after each day I am a day closer to seeing them all!! What a day that will be! My creator and my family and friends that are already there.
This is why I love your channel its full of such a warm welcoming atmosphere, its not like the fast and flashy channels its about slowing down and noticing and enjoying the smaller things in life. Thank you for doing what you do.
I lost my Dad 2 years ago, he was my giving tree, the greatest man I have ever known. He taught me so much. Your video had me remembering so many times with my father and had me crying too. Thank you this video and for sparking so many great memories
Cody, My granddad wasn’t related to me at all but my stepfathers father. They were country folk from north Mississippi. I never knew my real grandfathers but that man was more to me than anything. I spent 2 weeks with him and his brother in law fishing and walking country roads one summer when I was 11. A time frozen, always there when I need it..
I did not know my grandfathers. For you to have such love and memories and a heart that allows you to share this it sort of makes up for my loss. Thank you.
I should have worn eye protection for this one, something flew into my eye near the end of the video. Just recently discovered your channel, and I am loving it. Thank you for the wisdom.
What a wonderful story. I miss both of my grandpas all the time. I used to love to just sit and talk with them about their lives. Thx for the great video!
Cody, I am so sorry that you feel the loss still so deeply. I know when you two meet up again the pain will finally be gone... God Bless. Tony from England.
Yup got me tears in no time!! I was raised my my grandfather and that story just hit so close to home i couldn't do anything but cry!! Thank you Cody for sharing this, god bless you and yours! I miss my grandfather so much it hurts!! I hope thay i can do for my grandkids one day whay my grandfather did for me!!
I had met you at mother earth news fair in Puyallup WA. I had lost my father in law just prior to this and you reminded me of him so much, I couldn't help but tear up. I never really knew my own father and I didn't really appreciate my father in law while he was here. Thank you so much, as I dont think you will ever truly know how impactful you have been in not only my life but I'm sure a million others. God Bless you
Love the message at the end. I will be picking up that book to read to my 2 kids. Definitely tugs at the heart string. Your stories remind me a lot about my grandpa. A true mans man. Great video!
This video just hit me right in the feels. My mothers father was a doctor and loved hiking in the woods with me, we had 78 acres of land on a mountain in Vermont as a kid. My father suffers from Crohn’s as well as Myself, I do I remember the first time going in the woods hunting with my father, that is a moment you will never forget, hopefully my two boys will be old enough one day to go hunting with their grandfather and their dad together. Love your videos and story’s of times passed. This year will be my 21st year as a firefighter and your videos about wild land firefighting we have used a lot of your tips and tricks.
I really enjoyed you hunting stories. As I get older, 76 now, I also have fond memories of my hunting adventures that bring on emotional happiness. You don’ t ahead tears alone... Thanks.
Oh my heavens. I was not sure where you were going with the video. My crusher is hanging in my barn where it has been for years. As I was watching I thought I must go out and put it on. Then, as the video progressed, a greater meaning became clearer. Called my 93 year old dad immediately. Thanks Cody for keeping us focused on the most important things in life. God bless.
Last year I lost my brother to cancer. I think of him like you think of your Grandfather. He was 15 years older then I and gave me allot of guidance and life experiences growing up. I now endeavor to appreciate all the time I have with those around me, and not take anything for granted believing they'll be in my life forever. This really pulled those heart strings for me.
Wonderful. Wonderful. Wonderful. My granddad passed when I was 12 and I still visit with him in my dreams. He was my rock. I too wait for that fateful day when I can be with him again.
Cody, I don't think anyone could watch this video with dry eyes. My grandfather was and thankfully still is a huge part of my life. I know the day will come when he is not physically here with me anymore, but I truly believe that if we think and speak about our loved ones they are never truly gone. I know your grandad is proud that you still think of him and tell your stories of him and how good of a man he was. Keep him alive in this way until the day you get to see him again, God bless!
You are blessed to have a man that took care of you and showed you how to be a strong man for yourself and your kids. I have a grandfather who made it job to make sure everyone under him in the family was safe and taken care of. Your are truly a great TH-cam. This channel should be a shining example of what these channels can be.. your grandfather is so proud of you. He will be there to greet you at the pearly gates. Thank you for being strong enough to show strong man can be open. Huge thumbs up.
I've been watching your videos for several years and this is the first time I've seen your Grandad. It's nice to finally put a face with the name. With my grandmother in the hospital today it was a fitting video for me and like always, I appreciate what you do. Thanks Cody
Miss both my Grandpa's and Grandma's. They gave me more than I was willing to take at that time, but they keep giving beyond their departure. My Dad has joined them now and I appreciate the influence they had on him. I will see them all again one day as well. Blessings, Amigo.
I shed a tear with you. I was in my early 20s when I lost my grandpa. I was right there with him growing up on his little farm but when I hit late teens and early twenties I didn't have time for him. I'm glad you got a little time with him to meet jack. I miss him and I'm crying with you. Tears of joy and sorrow. They were great men and they don't make them like that anymore. All we can do is try to be half the men they were.
Wow. I have an amazing relationship with my father, hunting, fieldsports he always took my to building sites when I was on school holidays, he also bought me a shotgun when I was 13 years old.and taught me the art of falconry until I was 16 when he bought me a harris hawk, I look up to him so much and think sometimes when im telling stories that I haven't got many memories without him in them. I just don't think it's possible to be as good as he is. A real hardworking father that spent all his spare hours teaching me all his skills and life lessons. The ending to this made me choke up emotional. I'm dreading the day I don't have a dad to call for advice. Much love from England.

Cody.! I’ve heard you talking about your Grandfather many times. Those precious moments together will stay with you forever. Your story caught me with tears too. Thinking of your Grandfather all the time is just wonderful and will give you strength. He must have loved you so much. I’ll keep watching your videos from here in Western Australia. Cheers mate.
What a great story! Brought back memories of my own and I’m not ashamed to say I did in fact cry at the end of this video. I took for granted that he was always around, life got busy, didn’t get to see him much, next thing you know you get a phone call that he’s passed away. Great 👍 hunting story too!!!
Wow ...I just finished the video and it just got better....thank you for sharing your most intimate and emotional moments with me ...Love you Brother!!I really do....May the peace, and patience and Love and mercy and Brotherly compassion and Wisdom Of our Savior be with you and your Loved ones....:)
You making yourself vulnerable is just a testament to the man you are because of that grandfather of yours. Cherished memories go on forever! I lost both of my grandfathers before I was 9 years old, was lucky enough to have a great grandfather until just about 8 years ago. I miss him dearly. Small frame guy just like yours but a huge heart of Gold!
i never had anyone like you growing up. thank you for being that person as i enter my 20's. a guy hates to admit it but sometimes that story chokes me up because my tree didnt live long enough to give very much.
Amazing video and really puts things into perspective with my grandfather who is still with me. Makes me remember what’s important in life thanks Cody for all you do on this channel I appreciate more than you know.
What a gift you had , to have such a great person for a grandad and all the wonderful experiences you two enjoyed together ! Thank you for sharing and don’t worry about the tears , it just shows that you were raised with caring and love in your family . 😎👍
Thanks for that Cody only within the past eight or nine years have I been able to get to know my maternal grandfather. I am a devoted Christian and my grandfather is also as well as a reverend. And watching this episode shows me how lucky I am too still have my grandfather around. So again thanks
This feels personal to me as well. I feel very fortunate to have, as you put it, "gotten some sanity back" shortly before I was 19. Since then I've been putting a lot of effort into making time to spend with my family and grandfather.
Thank you so much for the story of hunting with your grandfather. You brought back memories of my grandpa and hunting on the Olympic peninsula when I was a boy.
This is honestly why I'm afraid to spend more time with my grandparents these days. It makes it more terrifying knowing how close they are to being gone. I guess I think by distancing myself and spending more time absorbed in work it won't hurt as much. Probably just going to make it worse
Wow, Cody. I've been quietly enjoying your videos for years and this one really got me. My grandpa was amazing too and I miss him frequently. Taught me so much. God bless those men that invest in their grandkids.
Well, this has become my favorite video of yours. Thanks for sharing your feelings for your grandfather with all of us. I miss my grandparents too and I hope I am found worthy to see them again someday.
If you have children or grandchildren please share this wonderful book with them. The Giving Tree Is One Of My Favorite Books of All Time amzn.to/2XVzn1w
Treasure those memories Cody, I never got to know any of my grandfathers, and only 1 grandmother.
In my not so humble opinion, if Shel Silverstein wrote it, every child needs to read it, God Bless and much love from your (honorary) Oklahoma Grandma
The giving tree is a wonderful book
Thank you
When I was still young one of my Aunts died and I went out to speak with my dad.

The ending hit me hard man. Brought a tear to me eye.
Nice rifle what does it say

"The Giving Tree" is probably the greatest tribute to good parents and grandparents everywhere. Gets me every time.
I watched this video and instantly went to my grandfather and told him how much he means to me. Thank you for reminding us not to forget the ones you got us to the place we are today.

Then, as the video progressed, a greater meaning became clearer. Called my 93 year old dad immediately. Thanks Cody for keeping us focused on the most important things in life. God bless.
What a beautiful man that we've all grown to love and respect. Thank you so much for sharing Cody.
Thanks for having the courage to share, and to share genuinely.
Wonderful. Wonderful. Wonderful. My granddad passed when I was 12 and I still visit with him in my dreams. He was my rock. I too wait for that fateful day when I can be with him again.
That ending really meant a lot to me! Miss my dad and pap.
I can definitely see why you miss your grand dad , those memories will be yours forever.
You're a very genuine human being Wranglerstar.
Cody, your video touched me. God bless you and your family!
Tears of joy indeed my brother. We shall be reunited with those we love when our time comes.
Wow, I really love this video . Thank you for sharing the hunting stories and the memories of your grandfather. This world is too busy these days .
That's a true man when one isn't afraid to show his emotions. Take care Cody and cherish the memories. Thanks for the video.

Best video you’ve made by far Cody thanks for sharing your grandfather with us
What a great story!
Bless you, brother! Love hearing these amazing stories! You’re a good man
i never had anyone like you growing up. thank you for being that person as i enter my 20's. a guy hates to admit it but sometimes that story chokes me up because my tree didnt live long enough to give very much.
You with grandparents left, spend as much time with them that you can.
shopnwoods Amen.

Treasure your parents too.
I Buried my mother last year.
Eric Clapton spoke the truth when he sang" Nobody treats you like a mother will"
Thanks for that Cody only within the past eight or nine years have I been able to get to know my maternal grandfather. I am a devoted Christian and my grandfather is also as well as a reverend. And watching this episode shows me how lucky I am too still have my grandfather around. So again thanks
One of your best video's Cody. Proud to be a subscriber, you've taught me so much.
This feels personal to me as well. I feel very fortunate to have, as you put it, "gotten some sanity back" shortly before I was 19. Since then I've been putting a lot of effort into making time to spend with my family and grandfather.
Chauffeur license back in the day was a class A license
Thanks for sharing. It’s a blessing to have such men in our lives. I hope to have that kind of impact on my family.
Cody memories are what keep us going until that glorious day comes when we agin meet our loved ones. I too look forward to that day. Very nice video!
Thank you so much for the story of hunting with your grandfather. You brought back memories of my grandpa and hunting on the Olympic peninsula when I was a boy.
I am going to be honest, this video makes me a little teary eyed because it reminded me of my grandpa.
Willbur it reminded me of my grandpa too, and I love your profile picture, god bless.
@@alec1575 God Bless You too
This is honestly why I'm afraid to spend more time with my grandparents these days. It makes it more terrifying knowing how close they are to being gone. I guess I think by distancing myself and spending more time absorbed in work it won't hurt as much. Probably just going to make it worse
Beautiful memory's and a wonderful story. Thanks Cody
Thank you for sharing Cody!!! God Bless.
Touching. Didn’t really know either of my grandpas but yours reminds me of my dad. God bless us all
Thanks for the great stories. It is great to hear about a wonderful man. We can learn from stories about people like him.
Wow what a amazing story. Made tear up seeing how much love you loved and miss your grandfather. Thank you for sharing

Man, that was a good story. Made me start thinking about all the good times that I had with my Papa.
Wow, Cody. I've been quietly enjoying your videos for years and this one really got me. My grandpa was amazing too and I miss him frequently. Taught me so much. God bless those men that invest in their grandkids.
Alright, who is cutting onions!
Well, this has become my favorite video of yours. Thanks for sharing your feelings for your grandfather with all of us. I miss my grandparents too and I hope I am found worthy to see them again someday.
