Leggendo la sua autobiografia e guardando le foto in essa contenute (almeno una parte), mi sono dovuta ricredere purtroppo!!! Stimo ancora molto Rod Stewart come cantante e personaggio da palcoscenico, almeno quello dei suoi anni migliori!! Ma come uomo... Beh lascia molto a desiderare, soprattutto nei confronti delle donne, ma anche il suo rapporto ossessivo con il denaro e con il guadagno, che gli ha fatto rinnegare con il passare del tempo 'autentico spirito rock e ribelle dei suoi anni migliori, fine anni 60'/70!!Inoltre,soprattutto nella seconda parte del libro, e quando parla del rapporto e del matrimonio con Rachel Hunter (e conseguente abbandono, da parte di lei, devastante per lui) Rod non è del tutto sincero, secondo me perché qui è Intervenuta la figura, tuttora dominante, della sua ultima moglie, Penny Lancaster, che ha sempre mal sopportato la bella neozelandese che ha avuto un posto così importante nel cuore di suo marito! Il libro e le foto sono supervisionate da Penny, soprattutto queste ultime, altrimenti non si spiega la scarsità di foto di Rachel e pure modeste(in giro ce ne sono bellissime, anche perché indubbiamente lei è la più bella tra tutte le donne di Rod, non c'è storia) e poche pure quelle dei suoi figli Renee e Liam, pur molto amati da Rod! Quindi posso affermare, sì, provo delusione e anche un po' di rammarico nei confronti di questo grande artista che consideravo un mito anche sul piano umano, un esempio vivente della generazione di ribelli partorita dalla musica rock inglese che tanto aveva affascinato tutto il mondo giovanile in quei mitici anni! Rod si è allineato, si è imborghesito e in questi ultimi anni è diventato quasi un gentiluomo di campagna, occupato, insieme alla sua onnipresente moglie, ad ostentare case, castelli piscine e ricchezze varie!! Vabbè, è invecchiato, ma che tristezza!!!!!
