hey there, thanks for this video. I'm a leathercrafter and this is definitely a good start for other crafters out there who wants to design/craft a totebag. very informative especially on the pockets, linings, zipper, straps etc. learnt a lot by just watching this video. thanks again! cheers
I dislike the idea of a hybrid tote too, but these last two hybrids in this video are gorgeous. I'd be comfortable making either of them a daily driver, even though the backpack straps look a little tacky
Nice picks but in the future could you also demonstrate the bags being carried on your shoulder like most people normally wear totes? It was mildly frustrating that it was never really shown for any of the totes.
Hi there! By design it was a "tote" as it was primarily carried by hand, but it has been customized since for efficiency and convenience, by adding more features to carry it as a backpack or a sling.
I didn't end up loving the Peak Design tote. It was too bulky and stiff. I felt it was uncomfortable to carry because of that. I would avoid it unless you need serious protection for camera gear. Really well engineered otherwise.
Hi there! We have these backpack collections here across all brands that can fit well the 16" Macbook Pro> rushfaster.com.au/collections/backpacks/suitable-for_16-macbook-pro? We're not sure if there's an allowance in the compartment should the device come with a sleeve on.
Hello, sadly, it's not mentioned on the product's official website. If it helps, you may check out the photos of the bag with the models (bit.ly/3WzynzT). It indicates the height of the models so you'd get a better idea on how it'd look on you. Cheers!
Hopefully, on the next video :). Thanks for the suggestion. In the meantime, you might like this video of the WANDRD PRVKE V2 & PRVKE Lite: th-cam.com/video/8ruWLkwsNqg/w-d-xo.html. Cheers!
@@RushfasterTV I want the version 3 with hopefully load lifters, camera gear gets heavy, besides laptop, tablet and tech gear that I take to university
These selections are just.... bad. The Bellroy one is probably the only one that makes sense. I mean, you've got the ones from Dsptch, Filson, the Porter Heat line, Defy, etc.. etc..
I need to hear from someone that actually uses a tote. Not a backpack, not a single strap sling, not a messenger bag. A tote. What do you like about this style of bag? In what ways do you use it? Do you commute on public transit? Bike? Walking? How does it feel when it’s loaded up and you carry it? This seems to be the worst possible carry option. I think I would rather go with a lumbar bag (giant fanny pack). I can’t imagine not only using the worst possible layout for your stuff, but also paying a lot to do it. Someone help me understand.
I think when he mentioned using a tote because of not wanting to wrinkle your suit or ensemble makes sense. I agree it can really get heavy but hybrid ones do quite well in backpack mode. Just what I experienced with the bellroy tokyo tote
As per the video, sometimes its to be used when you are using non normal suits. From my experience of observing others - mostly used when either using public transportation or car - as these are not safe when using with bicycle or motorcycles. Also not to carry heavy stuff - but maybe big (but not heavy) stuff like gifts such as frames, etc. Don't expect 90L tote bag unlike hiking bags. From my observation of my surrounding usually used by older woman - and they own cars. Due to their nature, might easy for pick pocket when used in public transportation - tote with lockable zip (like pacsafe) might be preferred. And to be used from location to location, home-car-office/etc. and not to be used for prolonged time. As for the price - sometimes it paid for style. For example ( which I seen) it used when someone going to a wedding or party. Wallet + larger item (eg: ipad) will go into tote, and once arrived, based on safety - either leave the tote in car or by/at the chair and just carry the wallet around. Like I said, for style. You don't want to wear cool dresses + 30L unmatching bag pack into a wedding party. Even for the short distance - hall to chair - you just want to look good. From my observation.
As a person who occasionally uses a tote, i can honestly say it's more of a bag you use when you have to run out and do a bunch of errands. Not like 1 or 2 errands, but a bunch of them that is going to take a chunk of your time. It carries just enough of your edc basics but none of the gear (or at the very least your powerbank). It works as a grocery bag when you are only buying a few items or a bag to dump a bunch of stuff for a quick picnic. I know it has all the same function as a regular backpack, but I would use my edc backpack strictly for the purpose i bought it for. Think of it this way. An edc backpack with all your stuff is for your working weekday and a tote is for the weekend market. Would you bring a laptop, a camera, and all the gear to the market when all you are getting is a bunch of produce and dinner for latter? A tote isn't meant to be a professional bag unless it is styled to be one like that Harber London Bag. (Looks cool but I can only see a very narrow number of people who would use this).
Absolutely understandable. It's crucial to keep electronics safe from any potential spills or leaks. An EDC backpack would be a more suitable option for carrying both your electronics and beverages separately, ensuring the safety of your devices. Thank you for sharing your perspective.
That gold watch though.

Hi Acap! Glad you you loved it. Appreciate you dropping by. Cheers!
Another great video. Thank you very much - I found it to be both very informative and helpful. (I think the Bellroy Tokyo Tote is the one for me)
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching 🙌
Wonderful video! When backpacking with kids through different countries hybrids seem the way to go. Will look into your recs for sure.
Thank you for your feedback! We have plenty more in our travel backpack collections: rushfaster.com.au/collections/backpacks/activity_travel?

Thanks for dropping by, William. Have a great week!
Fantastic video.
Wish you could make a review video of the Sandqvist Forest Hike, I haven't found any on YT.
Hopefully soon. Thanks for the suggestion. Cheers!

@@RushfasterTV Ya of course! Aside from what I already stated it was a great informative video :) Thanks for the hard work.
Could you do a top 5 for compact backpacks around the 10-15L range? Your other EDC backpack lists still seem to have larger capacity bags (20L+)
Hopefully, soon! Thanks for the suggestion.
Why is the backpack duffle in a “tote” video? It caught me right off guard? It looks comfortable though…

So a 14in Mac Book Pro and 11in ipad with keyboard would fit in regards to Peak Design tote?
It was snug, but we managed to get it in.
Hi. How about the Rennen Tote from Boundary Supply?
Love the Rennen Tote. Rushfaster’s Theo made a video about it recently

waterproof laptop case and with good pocket organization, perhaps for next review?
Hopefully soon! 👍
Too bad, the Billykirk no. 326 is not available anymore now.
Any recommendations for backpack for 16 inch MacBook Pro that will fit in bag with a sleeve on?

A sponsored video can really influence the content.
Sponsored and genuine reviews:)
Which one would you prefer out of those
I am currently enjoying the Billykirk, but have used been very satisfied with the Bellroy
Does anyone know the handle drop size of the Bellroy Tokyo 12liters? TIA

u should try/review tote bag from life behind bars... indonesian brand.
Would love to.
Quick question, how old are you?🤔
He's old enough to do genuine reviews for high-end genuine products:)

Bellroy tote - everyone but 16” MBP users

Those are some good options, but they don’t all have laptop sleeves, which is one of our criteria for an EDC tote.
