I can place turrets just fine I just had to place a ceiling tile first
hey i found out that you have to treat the rails like ceiling tiles so you have to use a pillar on the 3 rail it helps alot
trains would be a cool concept for mobile survival. I imagine just a bunch of tracks placed down as if abandoned and then tribes living in train cars as they travel around the map, possibly running into other train tribes
My whole thing on ark is "industrializing" myself. Im a veteran and tend to play with new players or always end up just trading/being the crafter guy.

Does not work on The Island Map, I just tried to spawn them in and some floating texts pops up that says its not allowed on that map.
Its probably a good idea to build the track in the air using pillars, that way you can keep it straight.
This is amasing, you can place gerators walls and placable structures on the rail carts, and in a pvp setting it only takes a crossbow and a grapple to completly derail a train and rob people

I started my train near the center on top of one of the cliffs. You can use pillars to keep extending over the cliff to the fround or another cliff. Sand hills aren't so bad if you use pillars.

Hey teach .. do you think the train will work inside vacuum cube? .. my server is building a train on the island and am wondering if a under water track would work and maybe transition from underwater to the island
Ok I tested it. The track seems to have a no-build radius similar to a foundation. Apparently these would be a great way to do "pillar spam". You can use them creatively and offensively in PVP. Pretty neat. More resilient and easier to throw away mats than tames. Cool addition to game. WAY MORE HP THAN A FOUNDATION.
Can you attach the rails to another clan? Who are not in alliance. 2 different tribes able to attach to each others rails. Or you think you have to be in an alliance
Pressing Q when placing or E you can change the snap/angle though can't you?
You can put turrets on it you just have to build a platform
I think the materials for the track aren’t to cheap to try to avoid people going mad with it
But I doubt many will as taming and boss prepping will be priority. Looks good fun tho

Private server is the way to go or single player
officials is a place people go to be miserable and play breeding simulator.. unofficals is wher eyou go to play many diff styles of the game. get off official. its not good. random rollbacks and eventually a full wipe will occur or shutdown

Watched the animated series and the broodmother fight played out like a teach game too walk through… casually complete it with plot armour and 2000% ascendent amour
What is the point of the train? In pillar world its not possible to have a train
Do dinos still hunt you on the train? Does the tracks or train make you invisible to them or will dinos still hunt you like if you pass a raptor will it try and chase you?
Kinda worried my hard work would be destroyed with all the predators around, but at the same time wondering if you can make a train track going in and out the wyvern egg spot to make a crazy get a way lol
Well I built a track around carno island and it seems to me that they avoid you

You can put crop plots on a train platform and plant xplant turrets BUT... when the turrets are full grown and you drive away the plants stay suspended in the air and are no longer on the platform. The crop plots stay on the platform but not the plants.

Dude this guy has some of the worst videos for ark. I constantly ask TH-cam not to recommend this channel but it still pops up. My favorites is where he says “imagine this is the condition, this will happen” instead of JUST SHOWING IT. Dude is useless

The track connecter is very hard to use at first it was working fine it connected my tracks perfectly even though they weren't lined up to good and now I'm trying to connect my track again and it's lined up nearly perfectly but not it won't connect and when it does it says out of range or to sharp even though it's not it's very frustrating since I've spent the last 7 hours building a track that lops around the map and it won't connect
I didn't quite understand, what is the train for, to travel around the map?
How are you going to lay track with killers everywhere
If i get this there will only be a single track that goes around the outer side of the maps, i can see these making a mess without admins restricting where they go

im trying too build with these things but after a bit it keeps saying i have no foundation support. Got rails to work except the connectors they keep despawning every time I try to use them and they make no sense
The same thing happens to me, I think it's because the train tracks have one direction and the connector tries to adjust to that direction, and does not give the option to change direction

I'm having the same issue. The connector doesn't seem to work on tracks that "face" different directions.
In the reveal video they showed actual train cars (meaning with walls and such). I had thought that those might be specific engrams, but it seems not. Can you put walls and ceilings on the flatbeds?

Perhaps look closer before claiming something like that, it's simply painted Frontier structures on the train, I thought it was train cars too at first till I looked closer
You have to build the walls and ceilings. It's not prefabricated
Using a flatbed for the base
Almost like a platform saddle except the flatbed is the floor

It’s already happening right now. The few people that have made it onto the servers are already pillaring across the map to reserve lanes for their railroad. Even worse they are getting replaced by foundations in order to make the tracks. Wiping dino spawns along the way.

i'm kinda hoping WC develops skins for this for other maps so that it fits in. Maybe a Monorail system for Aberration & Extinction? I don't really see steam locomotives fitting in too well on those maps. it'd still be useful, tho
Train engines have a costume spot in the inventory. I think that's a good indicator they are planning on doing something with it or at least if it gets forgotten about it wouldn't be crazy for someone to make a mod for it.
How many carts can a train hold?

I'll just wait for the modding community to do a better job of this, A for effort i guess but theres things obv that need tweaking, and wildcards not one for fixing things in a timely manner
So I didn't notice that they haven't put any train on ark for PS4 at the moment wondering why😅
I wouldn't say it "includes" the train as you have to pay an additional $30 for it to be "included"

Untill you can't build anyway because there are tracks all over the place. And all the dino spawns are killed off.

There's no need. If it's the same as ASE, you can simply enter a server with all engrams unlocked or go on single player and unlock them yourself through Admin Cheats. That's how I had a canoe in my inventory even though I never bought Genesis
@@diesel4ever273 you cannot use anything from the DLC pack, even if gifted. It'll pop up with a DLC require message. And if any mods are made with the items so they become free, they'll be removed from the mod store.

@@diesel4ever273 nevermind I tested it. They have all the stuffed blocked with a little floaty message saying you don't have access to spawn this content. Doesn't keep them from cluttering the engram menu with it though...
when they don't make money no content comes and the game dies faster. Just buy it.
Don't do cheat fly it's unfixable. The train (with upcoming 2 way split) will ALWAYS default to the right track. Stairs and doors are a no go on the platform carts, use awesome elevators for multi floors. If you want junctions? Use a two way split and keep going straight using the right track. Use the left track as your alternative track as you will have to manually switch the tracks. Most of the time you can do what needs to be done in your train base while it's moving. But lag can glitch you off. No placing structures on the train during movement. And there is all the same restrictions as normal platforms but setting don't apply to the train... the Dino platform cart? Allows turrets and overbuilding due to settings. The train doesn't take these setting into account so for now you are forced to build within the restrictions of the train. Unlimited height but not enough structures fore three floors! (Unless you are careful with railings and doors). Avoid being on ground level until you have heavy turrets you can pickup and place since you need to build a base AROUND the train to defend it... no turrets allowed. But I can add windmills? I get I'm in pvp but I play solo lol
Edit: the extendable track piece doesn't work at all. You HAVE to build in the air don't even bother looking for flat land. Build ur track as straight as possible you'll be thankful. The train stops after leaving render but continues whaler re entering render. Disconnecting cart 1 while having 5 carts (max) will disconnect all carts leaving you to have to reconnect all 5 bits separately which takes at least 2-3 minutes. Sorry if I missed anything I tried to give all relevant information

Only 2x ways i can see these trains being viable in pvp..... 1) inside BIG cave bases where the entrance (choke point) is far from the actual base. In this sense the track could slow progress of soakers like stegos while making resource transfer easier. Hell bigger tribes may even decide to build the track to nearby resource points if they dont care about remaining hidden
And 2) as a mobile base on scorched earth, move location, pick up tracks, build walls and turrets AROUND the train as a makeshift train shed then pick up base and move again. It has potential,but not for solo players like myself Dx solos will be unable to keep the resources going or even manage the time needed to keep it safe Dx

I'd love to be in wild cars board meeting. We can either optimize the game and make it playable or add a buggy train that doesn't work very well. Hmmmmm. Train it is. Not to mention any1 remember the buggy from the first ark? Lol

side note the trains move in the direction of the arrow. you cant connect two arrows facing each other.
Only thing i can think of using this for pvp wise, maybe building a track along your base perimeter and building a mobile velo wall

Honestly! I would have preferred the Island map with the ASE bugs removed and an optimization pass over this (although you can't MTX an optimization pass...), or the Centre map instead. That track layering is seriously jank, but I understand the difficulty of letting the player have free reign on placement being the difficult part to integrate. If the tracks were static, a Generalist Houdini artist could have projected curves and built them everywhere and working correctly in a few weeks/couple of months.
Here is a question, can you layer a track on foundations? Monorail anyone :p

Thanks great video, But i have to say thee outfits look horrendous so ill not be wasting money on them. The who train thing seems way to much of a carry on to bother with just hope the maps good otherwise ill be uninstalling the game again :)

Not part of the Scorched Earth content. Bob's tales pack is divided over 3 maps (Scorched Earth, Aberration & Extinction) and the buggy is part of the Extinction content, while other things like the airship is part of Aberration.
This will be way too expensive to build and way too easy to destroy.

Im disappointed that so many people are buying this expensive mod. Wildcard selling expansions to an unfinished game is nothing new. All this video did was show that this isn't worth the money.
At the moment I have got many problems with mobile bases, I love trains but I do not trust the developer, for now I will not buy the pack 😂😂

Most trash thing to build in ark cant even buils a train track because ground is not flat 💀 build up sure but cant build down at some point idk if its broken or just trash
No turrets is kind of a bummer cant build structures on them so your just runnin along completely open i can see this working well for an rp server but otherwise its just a waste of time
These Wild West assets look like bones of another aborted Wildcard game like the pirate-themed ATLAS which were thrown onto Ark SA, because hey, if they're going to go bankrupt anyway, why not?

Sometimes I wonder if it is time to actually change rules, limit how and what people can place.
What about 1 hour small prop policy? You built a taming pen, and in 1 hour it is gone.
Same for every pillar and foundation all PVE servers are covered in.
I would never get back to PVE in this state. I want to explore the wilderness with other people instead of living in the pillar kingdom. Pillar+ train do not change much.
