Thank you. I was raised in Coronado after my father was transferred from Whidbey Island NAS, Washington to North Island NAS in abt 1960. I lived in Coronado until 1978. I often lived on the beach, so to speak, and laid on my back looking up watching all the planes come in for a landing. One of the most striking was the big disc E-2 Hawkeye planes fly around and land.
THANK YOU!!! Lived in Pt. Loma Up in the hill across from the base. Use to watch the ships and planes come and go with the naked eye and our telescope. I MISS it tremendously! Thanks for bringing back the memories! It was ANOTHER Beautiful Day in San Diego!!! Gorgeous day for watch, people, planes and the water was great too along with seeing the cruise liners.

NAS North Island looks like a challenging airbase to find the best spot but you did well choosing Coronado Beach! Beautiful aircraft and glad you featured the gorgeous scenery too. Big fan of the C-2s, T-5s and F/A-18s! Did you see any E-2s?
Looks like a great spot to chill on the beach and watch em knocking about! Any activity over the other side much? I'm staying at the Kona Kai Resort on shelter island next year so wondering if I'll be spending much time spotting on the balcony 😂😂
